I have downloaded the navigator. It says you can buy maps within the system. How do I do that?…read moreTerry

My 200th review!…read more 200 is a special number. The first thing I think of is the 200th anniversary of the U.S.'s independence from Great Britain. On July 4, 1976 there was quite the celebration. (At least that's what I gathered, I was born later). What many people don't know though, is that 1976 was also the year of the BikeCentennial. This was a crazy idea of getting people to RIDE THEIR BICYCLES ACROSS THE U.S. from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean to celebrate the country's birthday, stopping at historic points along the way! And people actually did it! And with some old-fashioned bikes to boot. The Adventure Cycling Association really came into its own then. Since they have come up with road routes all around the U.S. (more than 38000 miles) and have encouraged long distance riders to go out and see the country. Their maps are incredibly detailed and wonderful to use. They offer supported and unsupported tours lasting from a week up to 3 months. If you want to ride your bicycle across the U.S. or any other country for that matter, these are the people to check out. They also have a monthly magazine they put out reviewing bikes and highlighting individual touring experiences. They sell a line of bike products, and they are entirely non-profit. They are the friendliest people I have ever dealt with, and I love their organization. I biked from Yorktown, VA to Wichita, KS a few years ago. I plan on biking, at some point in the future, from Wichita, KS to San Francisco, CA to complete my trip. And I will be relying on them for my maps and general encouragement to get back on the bike. Great organization!!! http://www.adventurecycling.org
