Asked one of the employees Mathew about a million questions about MTB and he was kind enough to answer all of them thoroughly, patiently and honestly. This business is total s***. When they were supposed to replace my brake pads one of them started sticking to the wheel almost immediately. I went in to have a tire repaired they told me the tube was punctured even though it definitely wasn't. They left my bike outside all night, parts were stolen and they were more than happy to sell me replacements with a smile on their face. The stoner, hippie losers , probably took it themselves. Just so they can make a few extra bucks. I would definitely go to bicycle training instead. read more

Randomly walked in here as we were enjoying a gorgeous Memorial Day weekend in downtown Missoula. I had bought a bike in Montana and wanted to ship it home. I asked if they had any used shipping boxes I could buy First, he said, sure you can have the box for free. Then I asked is it easy to check in at airport? ..... and then he really fixed me up! He said he would pack it for me and ship it for me using Shipbikes.com which is way cheaper than fed ex or using airline! He totally saved the day! read more

A week into social distancing and many stores have closed already. My son's bike is an unique brand and through another store I ordered him training wheels, praying we get them before everything shuts down. Today I got a call that the warehouse closed and the training wheels won't be arriving and the bike shop (which I won't name) said they couldn't help me and I was out of luck. At this point I am devastated and panicking because the last goal I had before all stores and businesses officially close was to get my son training wheels so at least during these next few anxiety-filled months we'd be able to go on bike rides as a family. I called around town and bike store after bike store said they couldn't help me. Finally, Mike, at Bicycle Hangar suggested I bring my son's bike in even though they didn't have the specific training wheels in, just to see if he could "figure something out". He offered to see what he could do and several hours later I arrived back to perfectly working training wheel on my son's bike! Mike worked his magic and altered my sons's bike, made some changes (I really have no idea) and made it work!!! No one even offered to try to help! I cried as soon as I walked in, so grateful for the opportunity to ride bikes with my son during these upcoming challenging months. I even blurted, "I'm so grateful I will pay anything!" Not only did he NOT price gouge me, he only charged me $10 for labor and the price of the training wheels. Bicycle Hangar has earned my loyalty for life!! read more

Bummed went in looking to look for a new mtn. bike , and gal doing repair work greeted me . When I explained I was shopping for a new bike she said someone would be right with me. This review is for the downtown location on Higgins Ave. Took my bike in for a tune up and they did a great job. Communication was great. They let me know it would be a full day before it was finished and they called me when they ran into issues with the tune up and were very transparent etc. Very pleased with the service and professionalism here. We went to the Bicycle Hangar to buy a bike for my son. The staff was incredibly informative, helpful and friendly. They worked through all the right questions with my son to determine what type of bike would best suit the type of riding he does, and would fit his body size. We left with the perfect bike at the right price and I feel we got a great deal. They also offer free tune ups on the bike for life! What a great deal! I've dealt with a lot of bike shops and I've never encountered a similar deal. Bought a basket for a bike. Was not sure if it would fit but they said try it and bring it back if it does not work for you. The mounting brackets did not quite fit. A guy looks at it and tells me to go to Ace hardware and buy some smaller bolts to fix it myself. Then I asked him to cut a couple of inches off of a seat post. He said sure. Went into the back for a couple of minutes came back and handed the post to a guy at the cash register and said charge him $5 for this. Did not bother to tell me he was going to charge for a simple cut or look at me after he cut it. I was passing through Missoula and just did not have the tools to cut the post. I had an awesome experience at the Bicycle Hangar! Peter and his entire staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable! I ended up purchasing a rack and bikes for my entire family because his prices couldn't be beaten after shopping around town. My family loves their Giant bikes!! I Personally have never ridden a better bike than the Yeti he sold me! On top of that his mechanics fixed my disc brake on my Cyclocross bike while I waited for them to install my rack. My daughter recently purchased a bike here. Experience in general is that if you are spending thousands on a bike and you know everything about bikes, this might be your place. However, it took a week to put it together, and when she realized there was no kickstand included (contrary to the floor model) my wife inquired. The owner stepped in and became visibly agitated when he had to explain that bikes don't come with kickstands, as if everyone should know this. When pressed on the issue he continued to be condescending and arrogant and told my wife and daughter to leave "his" store. I emailed him giving him a chance to explain himself (before leaving negative feedback) and hoping he might realize he could have handled this better, 3 days later he responded starting with "Your wife's behavior.." The owner should consider swallowing some pride and accept the fact that not all of his customers are bike pros and some may require patience with their purchase. He chose to escalate the discussion with a condescending "attitude" and provided us with a great teachable moment with our daughter about customer service (you can choose to fix the situation with patience or choose to be controlling and arrogant). Our other daughter purchased a bike at another local shop the same day and went home with a bike that day without this type of experience (in addition to a kickstand without being upcharged or lectured about how bikes are sold). Shop around for the right fit for you. read more

These guys are the best. I was on a budget of around $500 and was a little put off by other local bike shops that didn't seem interested in helping me on my limited options at that price. I really appreciated their focus on making sure I got the bike that was right for my needs and not trying to sell me something I couldn't afford. We spent about half an hour talking about what would be the best fit for me. In this case, I was looking for something I can commute to school with. I needed low maintenance and something that would be a smooth ride down the road but also handle alleys and short trails easily enough. Not only did they find the perfect bike for me, but I had enough left in my budget for a heavy duty lock (that they helped me set up before leaving) and fenders for both tires (that they installed super quick). We will be buying a bike this fall for my girlfriend and we will definitely be going back here. Plus, free tune ups for life when you buy your bike here. AWESOME! Horrible service, I'm not sure what the guys name is who helped me, he had glasses and was wearing a hat. he would not answer my questions in a timely fashion, he talked to me like he was on drugs. I bought a chain and ordered it from them and payed them to put it on the bike. It costed $75! Very expensive and the chain broke within 20 minutes of riding. I went down there expecting them to refund my chain, but instead the guy was trying to manipulate me into saving up for a more expensive chain, and pay for them to saw off my break posts because supposedly that was the reason my new chain broke, they couldn't have told me it would be an issue in the first place?! So they were trying to charge me an extra 35$ to get everything done, when they should have done it for free since it was their fault. Horrible service, I will not be going there again for a simple fix that costs more than 100$ to get a chain on that is ridiculous! read more
