Even though they were full and we didn't have a booking they found a table for us. The owner came over and helped me pick a wine. They had some kind of large party going on upstairs which always impacts the service so it was definitely slower than it could've been. But we were enjoying that interesting artwork and the wine and so we gave that a pass. We had delicious sardine pate, and chicken croquettes for starters. I usually do not like croquettes but this came with a very tasty sauce that I also used on the fennel salad because the dressing on that was a bit bland. Even though we were in Covent Garden, most of the people in the restaurant seemed to be locals. Which is always a good sign to me. The owners are a man who seems British and his wife who is Portuguese. They told me they opened right before the pandemic and only held on by the skin of their teeth. For mains, I had a pork loin entrée that was absolutely delicious. And then we could not resist the cake and two different types of port that again the owner helped us select. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and we enjoyed ourselves very much. In fact I'm thinking about going back there again tonight for our last night in London. If my travel partner will agree.

When we entered the restaurant we were the only people seated. Outside a two-top the whole time we were seated. Felt a tad strange. Given menus ( see pic) to peruse and excited to try food I'd never eaten before. Portuguese but mixed with African, Brazilian, some Italian etc. Variations of seafood, chicken, meat as those countries would prepare it. We opted to do four appetizers vs Mains to sample the country focus of the menu. Started with a drink that resembled a wine spritzer. A white Portuguese port with lemon, elderberry, sparkling water(?)-- lots of ice. Refreshing. A lot of time passed to get that drink despite the restaurant being empty. Strange. Then an equal amount of time to get the Apps. 2 at a time. They were quite tasty. I thought the food should be a "4" but the pacing, service a "3"-- the server was very friendly and seems it was the kitchen that was slow. I would go again to try other different dishes. This was a Michelin " Mention" in 2024. Apparently moving out of Covent Garden changed their Michelin status, Quien Sabe?

I recently ate here while waiting for my Dad to finish his eye appointment at the hospital just a…read morebit further down the road. I was greeted warmly and had my pick of seating. First impression was that the interior is really beautiful. Great decoration and ambiance throughout. I loved that they have a skylight in the roof, which during lunchtime provides a nice bit of sunshine. I went for their main attraction, the piri piri chicken and really liked it. Spicy, tender chicken on the bone with a good flavor to the sauce. I chose the chips as my side, and they were similar to McDonald's, but tasted more frozen and less fresh. I would avoid the chips. They have other sides that I'll be sure to try instead the next time I go. The presentation of the chicken was the only knock against it, it came on a plain ceramic plate without any garnish, bed of lettuce, or anything else. I really feel they need either some garnish on the plate, or a less plain plate. At Nando's or something I wouldn't mention it, but at these prices and put against the decor, it looks out of place without it. For my beverage I went with a pint of the Portuguese beer on draft and found it to be awesome - a great tasting beer served cold in a large mug. It went really great with the chicken. Still a bit hungry I went for dessert and had the tart which came with ice cream, it was a really nice presentation and very, very good. The tart was just the right amount of sweetness, and very light and flaky. The ice cream was great too. Interestingly the highlight of the meal for me was actually the service. Magdalena was my waitress, and also seated me. She continued to check in and make sure I had everything I needed the whole time I was there. Really wonderful service with a smile, she's a gem. Overall I liked this place, but for the prices they are charging I feel they really need to step up their game on their food presentation, and also maybe swap in freshly made thick cut chips for their current tasteless skinny ones. I would have given it three stars if it wasn't for the excellent service, beer, taste of the chicken, and decor which I found to be pretty enjoyable.

Love tapas! We had a…read moregreat experience at Tendido Cero. We arrived with no reservation on a Saturday night and were told we could have a table for the next few hours (perfect). We ordered almost every single vegetarian tapas choice on the menu and they were all delicious. I loved the way the patatas bravas were served, the pan con tomate was great... but there was a star: THE MUSHROOM AND ARTICHOKES. It was so good it deserves all caps. I desperately want the recipe so I can make the dish myself - it was amazing. The service was attentive. It seems like the kind of place where most of the guests know the staff -- a good sign that we should return again and again for a great dinner.

A glass of wine each, lemon tart, coffee. Not cheap at £142 inc tip, but that's London for you...and I do hate paying for still water! Great atmosphere, busy, not pushy bit attentive...enjoyable evening; will not leave it so long next time. Sorry about the photos, too busy enjoying the food to remember
