They are your average "hardware" store, nothing special or particular about this one. The only advantage they have is that they are open until 7, I believe (only place in Barre open past 6) AND SUNDAYS!!! (I'm not sure why these stores don't think people do home improvement/gardening projects on Sundays.) The worst thing about this store is the STAFF. It is always staffed by high school boys, who know NOTHING about the merchandise. The check out process is painfully slow, as well. I have also asked for help matching a stain color, and the woman clerk said "good luck" and told me that she loathed matching stains, and went about helping other customers. So, I tend to just pop in on Sundays, or when Ace is closed.

To me that means clean and make sure everything is in working order. They did disclose that they don't warranty the ice maker. Well it's been 5 months and we discover the water connector is cracked and has been slowly leaking and ruined our floor. What was worse though is when we got it the bottom inside was packed with that clumpy dust that gathers under refrigerators (really packed ) plus packed with dog food and mouse poop some of which we can't even get out as we don't have the tools to get in that far. Again refurbished should mean at the very least that it has been thoroughly cleaned. I called to tell them about the dog food and mouse pop and dust and they acted contrite but really they just don't care. Not only will I never buy a used appliance again (hello landfill), but I will never step foot in a Sears store again. Not any Sears store!
