Cogs
Alicia O.

Food. Was. Awesome. I loved it all! We started off with the Cogs. These were pepperdew peppers stuffed with goat cheese and chorizo. I didn't get a lot of chorizo but regardless these were very good. There's a honey glaze on it which I thought might make it too sweet but it is nicely balanced. Next we got the goaties. Three breaded wheels of goat cheese (i know 2 goat cheese dishes?! but I love it!) with three different sauces and bread. All three were good. The blueberry sauce was a little sweet but it was good to get a few bites of it in. As far as amount of food this was a rather large dish. Third dish was the lamb pops. The lamb was super tender and the olive oil with it was great. The hummus was a little disappointing, it was rather bland. We ended with the Ahi Spokes. This was a really good light dish. The tuna and coating was good, the avocado was tasty and the chips were light and flaky. We really enjoyed our meal and will be back!

Smokey chicken flatbread

Love Spokes! This was my second time going there with my husband and we love tapas. We each got drinks (summer ale and a mule), and shared the brew board, triple gyro sampler, smoky chicken flatbread, and carrot cake. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend this cool downtown spot for a drink and food!! Definitely will return!

great lakes

Partner and I stopped by this restaurant in Watertown during Labor Day weekend.  Dined al fresco, which did not disappoint.  Service was professional, knowledgeable and attentive.  We refreshed ourselves with a strawberry mint lemonade (tasty!) and a great lakes lager. We ordered: Italian Twisted Handlebar (which probably would have been enough...ate only 1/4 of the pretzel)...was packed with great ingredients; Spicy Spanish Style Shrimp...had a nice kick to it and the sauce was great for dipping pieces of the roll &/or pretzel; Ahi Spokes...the mango/avocado salsa was a nice combo with the tuna and wasabi (we should have asked for a little soy on the side); and Arugula Parmesiana salad...was a nice accompaniment to everything.  In the end, we realized that we ordered too much and were stuffed, so we didn't order any dessert.  We left very satisfied.  This place would be perfect for a 1st date.

Italian handlebar

Very sophisticated compared to other places nearby- the Italian handlebar was good - the pretzel by its self was amazing ! Great peso just wish there were more meats. However the cheese was hummus not cheese... the apple pie mule is deadly amazing and the Jameson mule tasted like a normal mule. . Will defiantly come back !

We came back for Amber. And the ambiance. And the food. They had MUSIC, and she was GOOD. They had brie and prosciutto flatbread. And it was GOOD. They had a shrimp pesto flatbread. And it was REALLY good. They had lollipop lamb chopies, and those were delicious! Met Eva, another one of the partners. And she was ADORABLE. Wine list is meh, and I'm not a beer drinker. But the food is creative, the menu small and tight and the place is clean and adorable. Love visiting! Next visit, bringing the entire work gang!!!

We had such a nice time here last night. You cannot beat $5 for a flight of 4 craft beers. The pretzel with the beer cheese dip was amazing, as was the shrimp and pesto flatbread on special. Our waitress was super nice and informative.

Great food, great beer, great prices, great service. Whats not to like? The owner wanders around and asks how things are. Great experience

The drinks are fun and the servers are super friendly! Food is overpriced but definitely one of the best spots in Watertown.

This is the best brewery in the North Country! The staff is friendly, will help you pick out a beer…read more(or root beer) and the atmosphere is just a nice, chill place to hang out with friends. Love that you can bring in your own food for a date night!

Bottom line up front: This place has great beer, a great atmosphere, and great owners. Bring your…read moreown food or order delivery from several restaurants nearby if you plan to eat. Kid and family friendly. The beer is great, nothing on their current rotation that isn't enjoyable. I've been several weeks in a row and they've had something new to offer every week. A trend I really hope they continue with. One of my favorite things about breweries this size is a constantly changing rotation and the limited edition feeling when they change their lineups. They have several New England IPAs (hazy IPAs in some circles) that I really enjoy and their ESB is a great summer beer. Easy drinking, light and refreshing. The atmosphere is great. This is a brewery focused on great beer and great conversation. They don't have a kitchen but have bar snacks by way of bags of tasty chips and they do allow you to bring in your own food or get food delivered if you want something heavier. They have some board games you can borrow if you're looking for something else to enjoy while you sip on your beer. The brewery is right in the public square with ample parking in the rear. The bar area gets a bit crowded but the back room usually has plenty of space and a table available. You can order drinks from the bar and walk them back yourself or wait for one of the awesome staff members to walk back and check on you. The volume in the back is conversational making this a great option to catch up with friends over a pint or three. I thoroughly enjoy Boots Brewing Company. I travel a bit for work, and my favorite thing to do when I visit a new location is browse Yelp for breweries. All in all, I've been to between 100-150 craft breweries, so I have a solid baseline for comparison. If you appreciate good beer, you'll appreciate this brewery. If you're idea of good beer comes in a 12 pack that costs less than $15 than this place might not be for you. If you're looking for a bar or a place to watch a game, this also probably isn't your cup of tea.
