I'm currently unable to drive due to shoulder surgery and needed an alternate way of getting to appointments. I was able to use the 4 and 23 lines to easily get to/from my appointments today. The drivers were friendly and waited until I had a seat before moving. This was helpful since I can only hold on with one arm. Both busses I rode were clean as well. Asked for directions at the downtown transit center to take my two small children to the YMCA to swim on Sunday. As we were told every 30 minutes on the weekend. Unfortunately, we were dropped off at the valley transit center by #1 and told to take the 32. Then we were told it's a 45/60 minutes wait time?? Almost two hours later still traveling to the YMCA. At 12:30 on Sunday with two small children in the wind and rain... Now my child is sick... Unbelievable that now it's a hour wait for a bus. I have been taking Spokane Transit for at least 20 years. In the last four or five years the server has gone down exponentially. Busses are raley on time and add to that the drivers all seeming to go out of their way to be rude. If you do not rely on the bus then do yourself a favor and do not take it. What a joke. read more

I'm a federal employee who relies on the bus to get to and from work, I'm on the commuter program and get my pass automatically deducted every pay period and FOR WHAT !??? Let me just say first that my experience with sta has always been good but theres this one bus, bus 68. When i went for a loop because i had some time and when we reached the final stop, ewu i had to wait more than 10 minutes which was the waiting time and made me late. This was at the last week of august mind you. Now, Sept. 16 it suddenly changed? I live at eagle point but it just skipped and went with the route of bus 6 to spokane before i got off and when i requested to stop at a stop to get off it stopped at a stop where there was no 68 written on it?? Although most of the drivers I have encountered have encountered, have been professional and friendly, I think the STA supervisors need to put that young pup driving bus # 1763 in check. He had no business scolding me just because I didn't see an elderly lady trying to exit through the front door right away. I moved out of the way as soon as I saw her. I certainly didn't appreciate the brat letting several people exit through the front door at the last stop, only to put the ramp down as soon as I attempted to exit through the front door. Not cool. The bathrooms have been closed for months.they claim it's to prevent drug use but people just get high in the one single bathroom they now have available. It's ridiculous. I left my wallet on the bus this morning and realized right after getting off. As soon as I had turned around to go back and grab it, the bus had already started leaving and kept going despite my efforts to chase it and flag it down. I then called customer service who acted like they were going to get the bus searched and get back to me as soon as they could. 3 hours go by with no contact so I went to check in when I was at the plaza. I was told they'd have it at noon tomorrow and the most they can do is get me a connect card so I can ride the bus home and suggested getting a friend or family member to come pick me up and get my car that was stuck at a park and ride location while I no longer had my license. Customer service lacked care or understanding for the issue because sticking to specific 24 hour policies for lost and found is more important than people's ability make it places safely and legally. I'm very disappointed in my experience today. Ivd also waited and hour for a bus that was supposed to come in 10 minutes multiple times because it never shows and I'm stuck waiting for the next bus. Customer service is awful. Timeliness abd reliability is awful. I wish I had other forms of transportation to get to school because I would prefer any thing to this. read more

Bus drivers are (usually) friendly. Bus routes are very easy to figure out. Generally very safe and somewhat clean. Price for bus fare is kind of high, unless you buy a monthly pass. One major issue is the bus schedules. They stop running very early and start kind of late , if you work early or late don't count on this for transportation. The route schedule online is different than the paper schedule and they are both different than the actual bus times, sometimes. Ie today I looked up the bus time it said the bus left at 12:22.the paper schedule at plaza said it left at 12:10.the bus actually left at 12:20,causing Me to miss it and have to sit and wait a half hour for the next bus. Which caused my transfer to expire. I was disappointed. read more

This Paratransit system is awful. The reserve the right to keep you waiting then take you on a. Unsafe and bumpy ride all over Spokane while taking over an hour and a half to get you to your destination for now $4.00 round trip. A Spokane Transit Authority bus driver and bus injured me as I walked onto the front entry door and the driver closed the door which caused me to be squished in between the doors and it was done on purpose. The driver didn't write an incident report. Spokane Transit Authority customer service sure let me know they have attorneys. I was happy to have been told by a Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church here in Spokane WA about that church and that it is Sedevacantist and on the bus line. I went there immediately and was happy. Many parishioners did not want me to be happy and said to me this is our church what are you doing here why don't you just stay home. I hoped they would tell where their authority and licenses come from but they only want a tithe and I didn't want to give them one until they told me. I did though. The Spokane Transit Authority bus doesn't come by at 7:07 am on Sundays as the schedule says. The drivers are constantly and consistently late, no matter the time of day, amount of riders, or the level of traffic that may be. Many times, I have been on a bus that barely escaped an accident due to the driver not seeming to pay attention, not following the floor of traffic or speed limit. And what makes it worse, there is literally No accountability or discipline for the drivers- I say that since if there was any, change for the better would have came about from all of the feedback that I and many others have given. I have stopped calling Customer service, and now just reach out to the leadership of Spokane Transit Authority, because if you go through typical channels, you will never see any change. The Plaza it self, is crowded abyss of chaos, filled with loiterers, and people who are spun out on drugs and causing fights. It is to the point that there have no seats or benches, and when I sat down on the floor, I got snapped at by security to sit on a a bench. When I motioned that they were all full they just walked away. It is so dirty in there that the whole building often smells like a roadside public bathroom. While they claim to be making improvements on their services that warrant fair increases and increases in sales tax-despite the fact that they are a private company, in nearly 10 years nothing has been legitimately improved. read more

First time rider and last time rider. Got on didn't have cash and my cards not touch pass. Thank God my daughters was. I asked for transfer slip so I could finish walking my daughter to work in the dark and get back on the bus. Told no rudely because I didn't pay cash. What's the difference we paid. Daughter told me to stay on bus and just ride it around back to our stop. Get downtown driver tells me to get off because out of service. What I still need to get home. It's 10 at night. I inform driver this is my first time and not sure what to do. He said get off bus and find the bay I need. Confused a nice transit officer sees me and walks me to wear I need to be tells me what bus and how long. Thank God my daughter had two dollars cash in her wallet which she left with me. Only to get back on the same bus with the same driver. Once again I asked if the bus goes down division and comes back up so I can get off at my stop. He just looked at me as if I'm stupid. I like all of the changes they are making to the system. I like that if you text the 4 digit stop number to 99689 it will tell you if the bus is running on time or how late it might be. I like how they remodeled The plaza and that everything is on the first floor. The only thing that would be better is if there were enough riders on the system to make it possible for it to run more frequently and later on weekends. read more

First of all, the bathrooms have no toilet seat covers. Their excuse, they get ripped off the wall. I've never seen a single seat cover holder ripped off a wall. I complained to the office people and they said that we were lucky the doors to the stalls were still on, we could do like the jail does and take them all off, I was told. Most of the doors don't lock in the women's bathroom. It's a complete fiasco over there, like they gave up caring. 2 Homeless people overdosed on the stalls and we all have to suffer for it. I don't go to the bathrooms there anymore, I head to the Mall. The workers there treat everyone like drug addicts they are rude and mean. I totally avoid the workers and don't even ask questions anymore because they either tell you the wrong answer or just don't know. I wish I could get paid to be a douche like them. read more

Bus drivers stop short and speed over bumps, making it very uncomfortabl. they don't take pennys even though a penny is legal money in this country and if you have 5 pennies but not a nickel bus drivers will gleefully tell you to get off their bus. doesnot matter to them if you're having an emergency or need to make a time sensitive appointment. You're required to wear a mask, which is fine, but if you forgot your mask and they ran out they will leave you out in the cold, even if it's the last route of the day. Over 30 years riding with STA and they're still a lot better than most transit companies I've experienced on both coasts. The things I liked about the transit companies in the other areas have also been implemented here, so I appreciate that! Plus, I've come to know many of the drivers, many of them about to retire this year! Unfortunately, this loyalty was recently tested. I was injured by a driver's gross negligence and their insurance reviewers determined that he was not at fault for my injuries. If I didn't have to ride, due to vision issues that prohibit me from driving, I probably wouldn't any more. I missed a lot of work and as I'd just started a new job, I was terrified I'd get fired for the amount of time I was off due to my injuries. Hmph. Some reward for being a regular commuter. read more

Example* I was scrolling facebook and there was a video i started to play it and like the second the video started the driver was yelling out i want headphones in that the phone shut off or you can get off. I was in Spokane in April, rode the bus everywhere, $1.75 and a free transfer. Also met some homeless people at downtown headquarters. Wow, what a life. Every driver I met were totally professional and helped out all riders. read more

I just want to say how nice the drivers are on the route 633 to the Amazon Fulfillment Center. The lady that was working this evening went out of her way to to hand me a mask because l am always forgetting some thing or misplacing my stuff. She has exceptional customer service and her attitude towards me made me feel so much better. She got off at 8pm l think. Short brown hair. So if you see her say hi an tell her shes doing a great job. Her an the elderly gentleman driver with shirt grey hair. I think he drives the 64vin Cheney or 63. Horrible bus company, poorly run on all levels, and the worst customer service agents this side of Comcast. I spent nearly a decade living there, and the buses were always late no matter what, even on days when there is light traffic. When the bus was running late, I would call to ask if they knew when the bus might arrive, and the agents would say, if you don't like it, move somewhere else, nd then they would tell me how bad it would be if we were in Los Angeles. I did move away, but I am sure it is still the same. The bus stops running a little after 7pm on Sunday, it seems like they are stuck in 1952/ I have seen drivers reading maps while driving, talking on the phone hile driving, I have even seen them shut the door 3 minutes before the bus is due to leave, and not let anyone else on, truly awful. read more
