I have dealt with chronic back pain and fibromyalgia for over 30 years related to advanced osteo-arthritis and degenerative disc disease. Over the last ten years or so, I've been diagnosed with a couple more autoimmune issues broadening chronic pain to body parts previously all-but taken for granted. Massage therapy has been of necessity a huge part of my ability to continue functioning at the most basic levels. I have been to numerous massage therapists over the years. By far, Jenni Oniu has helped me more than all other massage therapists put together.
Prior to visiting Jenni, I had been advised by my doctor on two occasions to get bi-lateral carpal tunnel surgery due to the severity of compromised nerves in my wrists. My doctor also advised surgery releasing my fingers from the effects of Dyputrens contracture. Problem is, these surgeries would not have corrected the additional nerve conduction issues in the outer portion of my arms and hands related to compromised nerves in my neck. I opted for pain management via massage therapy. Admittedly, I had no clue what this non-invasive therapy could accomplish with my hands. However, in just a few visits with Jenni, the numbness, tingling and electric shocks in both hands had all but disappeared! I could garden again without excruciating pain! What a gift! Worth every grimace endured through the massage process!
Must also note that when I first saw Jenni, I could barely walk due to pain from adhesions related to injuries to the bottoms of both feet. Again, after just a couple visits, I was walking like a normal person again. But these are just two of several areas Jenni has improved by her tenacious skills. Jenni has also greatly improved the circulation in my legs, greatly reduced the pain in my lower back, and increased the range of motion in my neck and shoulders.
Got to know going in...if you are in need of therapeutic massage, it's serious business...like any required medical procedure such as sewing up a wound or surgery to remove a life-threatening growth. The process will no doubt include some wincing. But trust me, the end result is so worth it. Jenni's expertise gave me back the ability to function more freely and with hope. I cannot thank her enough.
As an aside...I encouraged my daughter to visit Jenni for some serious issues of her own. After one visit, she thanked me profusely for the referral noting that Jenni was the best massage therapist she'd ever been to who found every problem area without lead and who refused to quit working on her until she got results!
