You inform this company you are disabled and have one arm in a sling from surgery on a torn rotator cuff. The appointment was set for a certain time on a certain date. You arrive the night before at a hotel in the move to town and call(during regular business hours) to confirm the appointment. All is set and confirmed. You remind them that you can not lift a thing and that you had surgery 3 weeks prior on a torn rotator cuff. They reassured that they would be there. The next morning, you arrive 20 minutes early to the new home. Wait...wait...wait more. 5 minutes after the show time, you call. It immediately goes to voicemail. You wait 10 minutes and call again...voicemail. ok this might happen. You wait 10 more minutes and call again...VOICEMAIL AGAIN. This goes on for 2-3 more times....voicemail. Now, you realize they are avoiding you. They let down a handicapped client! REALLY! So, now I call other local moving companies to get a last minute hire, and they want up to 4x standard rates. I really can't afford that. So, I took off my sling and joined in with my helper. We got the job don, but it took us twice as long to get the job done. Not even close. OnTrak is a masterclass in how NOT to run a last-mile delivery service. Their idea of "customer service" is a ghosted text message from an AI chatbot with memory issues, and the human touch? Nonexistent. You could train a raccoon to do a better job following delivery instructions. I had clear, simple directions for my package--deliver it to the front door. Not the back alley, not the neighbor's porch, and definitely not "somewhere in the vicinity." Did they follow them? Of course not. It's OnTrak. They treat instructions like optional side quests in a video game they've already rage quit. And let's talk communication. There is no number to call, no one to speak to, just a soulless SMS system that leaves you shouting into the void. "Your package is on the way!" they chirp, right before it's marked delivered... to a location that exists only in a parallel universe. Pro Tip: If your retailer uses OnTrak, stop what you're doing and call them. Demand a different shipping carrier. Don't wait for your package to vanish into thin air like mine did. They need to hear how bad this service is--because clearly, OnTrak isn't listening. Yelp fam, Reddit sleuths, TikTok watchdogs--let's talk about this. Why are companies still using them? Who is benefiting? Certainly not the customer. Tag your favorite retailers and ask them why they're letting this chaos continue. There are better options out there.
