Not for us. I decided to join my 2 year old in the tiny Monkeys Saturday class, our first time there was a disaster. Since we had never been there before I went to the front desk to get some instructions, they were very little help. When they came to get students for the class it was a very young girl who spoke very softly, went to the gym and had no idea where to go. Again, very little help. No introduction for a newbie, my toddler wanted to play, the instructor wanted to do more of a party cake pretend wash your hands exercise. Not what I had in mind. The instructors are very young girls, the front desk workers are very young . I wanted a place for her to get some exercise and play, not sit and do hand gestures. Maybe my kid is just different but she has a lot of energy. read more

My daughter has been going to splitz from age 2-6 on Saturdays. Very caring and patient high school/college age coaches. I've seen my daughter steadily grow in confidence in trying new skills - even if it's scary at first. She loves engaging with the coaches, and they are exceptionally good at managing the little ones. Would it by nice if they had a changing room? yes, but it's not that much of a hassle to dress them before going to the gym. Suggest picking an earlier class to avoid issues with parking or the waiting area being crowded. Very good job managing pandemic mask issues. read more

I like to try and post up the word about places my toddler and I can go for play dates, or just to get out of the house. Last week a friend invited us to Splitz open gym from 11:30 - 12:30 on Friday. My daughter was so excited to see her friend and do gymnastics (although there is no phonetic spelling for how my daughter says gymnastics...). We got there, admittedly, at about 11:35 and had a hard time finding parking. There were three paved lots and one lot on the grass, but they were all nearly full. I finally got her out of the carseat and we headed for the building. The doors face to the side, instead of toward the parking lot, so imagine our dismay when we got across the parking lot only to find a 'FULL - Open Gym is Full' sign on the doors. I still stepped into the doorway to try and call my friend to see if they'd made it in or not. My daughter was tearing off her coat in excitement. Suffice it to say, I may try again, but I hope Splitz would address the problem, especially since the woman at the counter was saying it had also happened the week before. My suggestions? Offer pre-registration, especially since I overheard other people who were also trying to meet up with friends who had gotten in when they couldn't. Put the 'FULL' sign out by the entrance driveway so harried moms aren't struggling to get toddlers and pre-schoolers out of carseats and across the parking lot before dashing their hopes. read more

I have been going to splitz for almost 5 months now. I had just moved from Pennsylvania 8 hours away and I was scared to go to a new gym and a new level. Right when I got there the girls were super nice and kind! there is somthing I get at this gym that I have never got any where else. It is a since of home. I not only love the exquitment here I love that I feel comfortable and happy to talk to my coaches and peers about any gymnatics issues and even personal issues. I know that I have made a great group of freinds! II am in gold excel! and I totally recommend splitz to anyone! read more

Took my niece here for a few classes and she absolutely loved it. Lobby is very clean! I love how they have stars put up around the lobby and some of the kids wrote goals on them that are in each level. Very cool idea. My experiences with coaches have been great...they have always kept me updated with how my niece is doing in class and how she can improve. I did notice one night there was a stain on the carpet...but when we came back the next day for a make-up class, it was gone. It really shows they try to keep things as clean as possible which is great. read more

My review of Splitz has nothing to do with the classes or regular activities, so bear in mind they may be just fine. I know my girlfriend's granddaughter enjoys going. This is strictly about the 2017 Splitz olympics. Look, I understand this is a gathering to celebrate the girls participating, so no, there are no gold or silver or bronze and no real competition (everyone gets a gold medal). I'm not a fan of the participation award mentality but I think this place is probably okay as such, althought you might have a competitve round where the girls can learn to win, and to lose. The two stars is for the crappy overall experience the 'olympics' turned out to be. I thought the highlight should have been the guy singing the anthem. He was pretty good. Otherwise, parking was lousy and wasn't handled, the place was way overcrowded - far too many people - and the seating was terrible. If you weren't in front, you couldn't see crap. I'm sure you make good money - invest in some bleachers so people can watch their girls show what they learned. And make the event a little more enjoyable. And to the guy who used his laptop to record video - you ARE the obnoxious idiot distraction! read more

My child had her first gymnastics class at 6 years old. I went to the desk to let them know it was her first time and the front desk staff was less then welcoming. The coach she was supposed to have was not there. The girl teaching her class came out and called the names of the girls all of which were significantly older than my daughter. I proceeded to watch her give very little to no instruction during the class. She didn't go through the stretches or the exercises that they should have been doing. The entire class was chaos and had no structure. My 6 year old was completely lost. Towards the end of this class the kids went to the balance beams where she stood easily 5 or more feet away, helped no one get on the beam including my daughter who struggled to get up. I at this point entered the gym out of concern for my daughters safety. She was standing frozen and terrified on the beam with no spotting. I helped her across the beam and we proceed to leave the gym. In my opinion, this place is incredibly dangerous and children could be seriously hurt without the proper guidelines and training. We will not be returning and I would NEVER recommend trusting this place with your children. read more

Both my kids have taken classes here throughout the years. While they aren't going to be elite gymnasts, they enjoy the fun and exercise. Some teachers are much better than others. My daughter had Chris and Morgan who were great, but she also had teachers that sat around and talked, and she didn't get much exercise. I like we are lucky my to have in Canton. My only complaints are lack of a dressing room and that the waiting room is a complete dump. The carpet is completely filthy, the coat room needs benches and hooks, and there are not enough seats for parents. read more

My 10 year old daughter has attended classes at Splitz Gymnastics for multiple years. She has always loved her coaches! The coaches encourage students to improve their existing skills and strive to learn new skills. My daughter and 8 year old son take Ninja Warrior classes. Coach Kristen is always striving for the kids to be the best they can be! She demonstrates and guides the students instead of criticizing. read more

The class that I registered my little one got canceled because no one else enrolled. They couldn't find another class that fit our schedule so they agreed to give a full refund, but when they did, they did so after charging a 'processing fee.' When I inquired about this, they conveniently changed their story and said that it was the 'registration fee' for the year and that they couldn't give us a refund. Um, why are you charging us a registration fee when my child cannot be registered because of your low enrollment? And why are you changing your story? I would recommend paying for a class only after you're sure that the class will be held. I don't care much about the $10 they're keeping, it's the principle behind it! read more

I had been going to Splitz for years with my daughter and about a year ago I pulled her out due to the coaches. I understand being firm and making children listen to the rules but in the same breath these girls are young and still like to laugh and have fun. Coaches scream at the kids and when I say scream I mean I could hear them through the glass clear as day. I had words with the coaches and then sent a coupe emails. Nothing changed and I started to see a major change in my daughter. She loved going here as it was her place to do what she loved around others that shared the same passion for gymnastics as her. Now she didn't want to go to team she just wanted to be in gymnastics because she loved it. All the coaches were fixed on was moving them to team and if they weren't then they were a waste of their time and my daughter felt it. Older teen girls should be empowering to the young ones , not discourage them for who they are. Now this was not all the coaches as some were absolutely wonderful but their were only a few. read more

My daughter has gone to Splitz for a few years in the recreational program. The coaches are very positive and good with children. The facility is very nice with a large viewing area. They do fun activities at camp and for Halloween. Parents Night Out is great too! Thank you Splitz read more

When I was looking for a program for my daughter, I checked out all of the gyms in the area. We picked Splitz because of the great coaches and the reasonable cost. Our daughter wanted to compete, without the time commitment of a JO team. After three years on XCEL, the team is amazing! The girls have won 1st place team at the last 5 invitationals they have attended. My daughter and her teammates continually place in the top three, and usually place first, in most events. The coaching staff is approachable and always will to go the extra mile. The biggest factor, outside of coaches, when picking a gym is the cost. The monthly cost and meet fees are minimal compared to other gyms. We LOVE it here!!! read more

We have been attending Splitz for a number of years. Our feelings about it changes based on who we get for a coach. The facility is dirty and very rundown and the staff are not very friendly. The owners barely know who walks through their doors (very sad for a locally owned space). The coaching can be outstanding and can also have a lot to be desired and you learn that very quickly. We are on the competitive side of things and after this year will likely be looking for a new gym that is more organized, with a cleaner and more positive environment - one that inspires the students to do and be better. This is a decent place to start with your young kids if you can get past some of the other stuff. read more

Even after being confronted about disregarding their own signs stating "No parking in front loop ever!!!" he continues to park in front causing a safety concern for our children and fireman? Lisa - I am not sure what happened with you but I would say try another teacher maybe if Mr. Chris is teaching a class your son could do one with him. But I find it hard to believe that your son was in gymnastics at 6 months sense most kids aren't walking at that age. But also you said that you know how 2 year olds are and they lose patience vary quickly which yes I know plenty of 2 year olds and you are right but just like they lose patience what he liked at 6 months he may not like at all at 2 they change what they want to do like the weather in Michigan! I know I have had plenty of friends go here and that had young kids and they seemed to also really like Miss Nicki. So maybe you had a bad experience but how many of us have went to McDonald's and had a bad experience but we all still go and try again to see if things are fixed. But if your son is crying all the time maybe he doesn't want to do it and you not realizing it are making him do something he doesn't like. read more

Never, never take a boy to Splitz. After a partial session, my son will never return. Let me explain to you what has been occurring. He is two. He has taken gymnastics (in Toledo) since he was 6 months old. He LOVED it. But, we live here now, so we changed to Splitz for this session. But, he has cried for the last 3 classes. Why? First, there is a little girl in this parent-child class whose parent chooses not to participate. She sends her little girl out by herself. So, the coach needs to either spend her time on this little girl, or the little girl just does what she wants. Today, the little girl wanted to just lay in the middle of the octagon. Unfortunately, it happened to be on the sommersault station which is my son's favorite. So, he waited patiently for several minutes while she laid in the bottom playing barbies. I don't know if you can relate to a two year old, but after waiting for several minutes, they start to lose patience. Then, there is the favoritism of the coach. As an example, let me tell you about the trampoline station. If you get to go first, you can then go play in the pit until it is your turn to jump again. If you get to go in the second round, you have some wait watching others play. If you are last, you get to watch everybody else go and play and have fun. My son was last every time. EVERY TIME.
