Love their classes!…read more We've been going to the gymnastics class for about a year. Our two year LOVES the classes. They have the same structure for the class but 3 different skills each week. The teachers are knowledgeable and take interest in getting to the children. The teachers are very gentle with the children as they learn new skills. Each class starts and ends with circle time and song. The little gym offers gymnastics for many ages, dance classes and an introductory sports class. There is a monthly duplo LEGO night. We have not been but they look like a lot of fun. Some of the classes can be a little crowded but overall we will continue classes at the little gym!

Then they started cleaning up throwing everything away . Kids barely got the cupcakes and the cake wasn't touched because they rushed and didn't cut the cake and they seriously asked "you guys want to take it to go" lol no we want to sit and eat it , I had to ask the ladies to get everything started , I asked 5 times if she could cut the cake so someone could take it home and she finally cut one slice and didn't have anything to cover it , why offer to take it home if you have nothing to cover it ? Love the concept and how friendly , don't like being rushed and they did everything backwards , I was so flustered I couldn't even have fun with my daughter because I was too busy trying to make sure we were on time for everything and deal with all my guest wonderful why we aren't doing things right . I couldn't even enjoy the time there . Would not recommend them . Not worth the $300

My kids have been taking gymnastics here for the last 2 1/2 years. They're now 6 and 3, so I can…read moreonly speak from personal experience about the preschool programs. The list of things I love about this place is a long one. The thing that inspired me to finally write this review was watching Miss Sue talk to the kids about Fire Safety Week at class tonight. Not only did she give a short presentation on fire safety that held every little kid spellbound, the activities for the kids all incorporated aspects of fire safety. Their activities included practicing "stop, drop, and roll", staying low to crawl out of a smoky room, and climbing up and down ladders in addition to the usual basic gymnastics skills. The preschool gym area was decorated with stuffed dalmations and pretend 'fires" made of crepe paper. I can't even begin to describe the way the gym is transformed for Halloween, Christmas, and Easter! They really put a lot of effort into making it special for the kids. My daughter started here in a parent-child class when she was a toddler. The preschool classes use circuits made up of various equipment for climbing, rolling, balancing, swinging, etc. so every child is doing something all the time. There's very little waiting for the next activity, and they don't get bored. Every class also includes a short teacher-led group activity, and finishes with a good-bye song and a sticker for each kid. It's consistent every week and my kids love it! My son isn't the strongest or most coordinated kid on the planet, but I'm so incredibly pleased with the progress he's made since he's been coming here. I've watched his strength and agility increase by the week, and I believe that the self-confidence he's acquired here will positively effect the way he views exercise for the rest of his life. The patience and support of FGC's instructors has made all the difference. They also have classes for the older kids and several levels of competitive gymnastics teams. I don't know much about those since my kids are still too young for that, but I know that one of their former students is now on the gymnastics team at U of M, so it appears that they have the experience and knowledge to produce champions.

My son met the 42-inch height requirement and has safely enjoyed similar attractions before, yet we were still made to feel uncomfortable and singled out throughout our visit. What upset me the most was watching my son cry after getting hurt, and instead of showing concern or compassion, staff looked at him, walked away, and laughed with another coworker. As a parent, that was heartbreaking and completely unacceptable to witness. No child should ever be treated with such disregard, especially when they are visibly upset and crying. Throughout the visit, my children both older and younger were watched excessively, which made us feel targeted instead of welcomed. As a Black family, the treatment we experienced raised serious concerns about bias and discrimination. I fully understand the importance of safety rules, but rules should be enforced respectfully and equally for everyone. Families come to these facilities to feel safe and enjoy time together, not to feel humiliated, ignored, or judged. I will be contacting the district and administration for both facilities to formally report these experiences and seek accountability. I hope steps are taken to ensure no other family or child is made to feel this way again.

Since we had never been there before I went to the front desk to get some instructions, they were very little help. When they came to get students for the class it was a very young girl who spoke very softly, went to the gym and had no idea where to go. Again, very little help. No introduction for a newbie, my toddler wanted to play, the instructor wanted to do more of a party cake pretend wash your hands exercise. Not what I had in mind. The instructors are very young girls, the front desk workers are very young . I wanted a place for her to get some exercise and play, not sit and do hand gestures. I've seen my daughter steadily grow in confidence in trying new skills - even if it's scary at first. She loves engaging with the coaches, and they are exceptionally good at managing the little ones. Would it by nice if they had a changing room? yes, but it's not that much of a hassle to dress them before going to the gym. Suggest picking an earlier class to avoid issues with parking or the waiting area being crowded. Very good job managing pandemic mask issues.

Please don't sign your children up for this sport, especially not at this gym. Unless, of course,…read moreyou hate them and want them to hate themselves for the rest of their foreseeable future. When I was a kid, I did gymnastics here. It was my entire childhood. Everyone I knew, I knew them from MEGA fun and fitness. I saw my coaches more than my parents. Every single day I was at the gym (5 days a week by the way), I was only put down and scolded, with the excuse that it would make me better, stronger. But I knew I could never be good enough, or strong enough. I could always do more, but it would never be praise-worthy. After far too many years of this, I quit. It was the best decision I ever made. But the experience still affects me. I'm an adult now, but I still have dreams about Coach ***, and I wake up sweating every time. But maybe the blame can't be placed on someone who is unaware of the trauma she is creating for young girls like me. I wish I could go back and undo it all. Or tell my parents to not let me do it. But I can't. So all I hope is that this message reaches one mom who just wants the best for her daughter(s). This is not the best you can do for them.
