Trained my children well, gave them confidence. Caring and skilled instructors. So please that my children train with safety in mind.

Try High Flyers or Livingston County Gymnastics in Howell, this in not a very organized or clean gym.

I understand this place has produced many great athletes and is professional with many great…read morecoaches and reviews. We found the head of the xcel program woman very warm and genuine. It doesn't dismiss our bad experiences here even though mostly out of the owners/ coach's control. my daughter enrolled into the gold xcel program last summer as a 10 year old. I gave her a text/ call only phone for emergencies to bring to class. A group of girls on the team( 2 and 3 grades OLDER than her!)asked for her number and harassed her over days via text. My daughter was nothing but kind. She was also harassed enrire classes by same girls in person. I screenshoted the texts to send to coach/owner so it was undeniable. Gym had a meeting with the girls families and I was apologized too. Coach said the harassment was jealousy of skills. My daughter broke both bones in her arm very badly during a practice while doing a flip off bar. I met ambulance there and was told by my daughter and another student my daughter landed the flip on her feet and arm hitting bar was cause of break. You sign a waiver and assume risks when doing gymnastics so I did not blame coaches/gym and was kind. I kindly emailed Olympia after incident asking any coach input how my daughter broke her arm so that if she returns to gymnastics she could learn from mistake and not repeat it. Almost 2 WEEKS later , a coach called me and said she saw my daughter fall and she broke arm on ground. I told coach it doesn't really matter but since my daughter's story did not match is there video they could review? Coach told me the " No. No video evidence. cameras don't reach to the back of the gym where the bars are" So I was lied to or they don't have cameras in the back of the gym which is a safety risk on many levels to me.

this is the gym i go to and it is amazing! the coaches are great and are so helpful. they have big…read moregarage doors that they open sometimes when it's nice out and it's not stuff at all. it can be a little bit crowded but there's enough space to still practice and the coaches are still able to help all of us.

Great gym! We've been going for almost 5 years now, their competitive program is really good. They…read morepush the kids but not exhaustingly and they nurture friendships among teammates. The coaches are knowledgeable and can be tough on kids at times but are also loving and fun. They don't play favorites so the kids are really like family. My daughter has grown not only physically but also personally. Highly recommend coach Kerry and coach Alice, and the other coaches are great.

I signed my 4 yr. old son up for a class there through a Groupon offer which allowed him 4 classes…read more(1/week) for $12. We didn't enjoy the experience. First the parents are not allowed inside the gym. There is see-through paneling up that allows the parents to see inside the room and if it is very quiet outside in the waiting room you can still hear what is being said....I don't think the instructors realize this because, there were quite a few times were I could hear them making disparaging remarks towards the students. Specifically, my son has a rather unusual name but only one syllable and therefore easy to learn with a little effort; well instead of learning his name, they would just refer to him as "boy". I found this rather rude. There were several other children in the class and they had no problem remembering their names. There was also another instructor there one day and she was asking the usual instructor if they should have another student go again and she rolled her eyes and said, "what's the point?". The student looked rather hurt. I mean they are 4 so of course they don't get things right....that is the point in giving them lots of chances to try again and again. Besides their rudeness. The students basically walk around the equipment and don't interact with it much. They have two walk-overs on the balance beam and they hop on the vault platform. The rest of the time they are just walking or hopping around in a circle. It really just seemed pretty silly. There was no learning of how to do stretches or footwork or muscle building. It was just like any other playgroup one would see at First Steps or the ones anyone can attend for free at the library except in this instance they are surrounded by expensive gymnastics equipment. They never checked in with me to see if my child would continue after the Groupon; which I also thought was rather weird. What is the point of having a Groupon if you are going to treat the people that use them like crap? Do you really think that will help your image? If you don't want people to use them because, you don't want to teach the children at that reduced rate then simply don't offer them. I mean there was never a hello or goodbye from the instructor....I was completely ignored. We didn't even bother going to the 4th session because, my son said the instructor was mean and it really made me wonder what else they were saying that I just missed and couldn't hear because, we weren't allowed in the gym.
