Can definitely see how Hobby Lobby will continue to succeed in the craft, arts, and home decor…read morecategory while its competitors either close (JoAnn's) or struggle (Michael's). It has the best selection and very competitive prices without complicated coupons and sales. We are creatures of habit, with my wife using JoAnn's Fabric for her sewing crafting needs because that's where her family shopped while she was young. Later Michael's became the place as they expanded and opened new stores in our area, and her other mom friends recommended. Now Hobby Lobby seems to be the place as we convert to an empty nest and help my newlywed daughter decorate her new place. This location isn't as new as the ones we have been going to in California, and wasn't nearly as well staffed. In our case, we were able to find everything on our own. I did learn that items marked as 'Your Price' (which is a large portion of the store) is the final low price, no other discounts apply. The vast majority of product are inhouse brands, with the price preprinted (which saves labor on pricing tasks). The only hiccup was that nobody was actively manning the registers when there were no customers, and could only scale to one register even with many customers waiting. But as I've recognized, personalized customer interaction is more important than speed and efficiency at craft stores, and it's obviously working for them.

Huge aisles, loads of stuff, and wow, overwhelming and huge!! I'm not necessarily a crafty person but, if you are, this is your spot. I do love the inexpensive T-shirt's in the back of you're looking for a plain T-shirt to craft on. Parking lot is easy, and staff friendly and helpful as I was looking for a specific item and they helped save me from wandering all over looking for craft lace. If you have a project to do this place will have it. They also had the most home supplies and decorations I've seen if you're looking for that kind of stuff. Happy yelping.

I think the Issaquah store staff are helpful, polite and do their best most of the time. Return policy is very good, all too often abused. Would you be that good for $20/hour? I wouldn't.

I typically go to the Lowe's in Monroe, WA - where helpful well-informed staff are easy to find…read more Was in the Issaquah area today and decided to stop in at this Lowe's location. What a mistake. First, couldn't find a single person to help/assist - even answer a question. And when we did find one in the lumber dept, was given a vauge/general answer - "oh - it's at the back wall, maybe more to the left or right"....and that's it as they walked away. Two other employees passed by, and I asked them, but they claimed I would have to ask someone in the lumber dept. Wandered the aisles, searching and looking - went to several 'back walls' in the general area and in both directions. Still couldn't find what I was looking for (it was a smaller part). Went to the cashier in the lumber area who was helping a customer. I waited and waited and waited to ask him where to look, but the cashier was busy talking to not only the customer he just helped, but also two 2 other customers who had joined the discussion- not sure if it was sports related or what, but it certainly wasn't regarding stuff at Lowe's. I waited and waited, and finally interrupted and was given yet again, another general answer - "a couple aisles back somewhere down the middle of the aisle." By that time, I was tired and frustrated and left the store without purchasing anything vowing to never return to this Lowe's again. If you are going here, make sure you know what you need and where to find it, because trying to get help is virtually impossible.

WARNING: DON'T EXPECT YOUR QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED…read more I called 3 minutes after opening and Frank was still on his way to the store and told me he would call me back, which is fine and I did appreciate the follow up and call back 10 minutes later. Since we have a small family room, the first question I asked was if a specific measurement range for sofas were available to make and/or try at the store. The second question I asked was regarding the fabric material and if it pils. My third question I asked was regarding the material of the cushion/if it was made of memory foam. As soon as I asked this third question, I was told that I asked too many questions and advised to go to La-Z-Boy or come in person to his store, not to mention that he quickly hung up on me. I did not realize that asking three questions, let alone shortly after opening hours, was considered too many questions. Instead of taking ownership of not knowing the answer to my third question, I was gaslit into thinking that I was in the wrong for asking that question and turned away as a potential customer. I wanted to be supportive of a local business but it seems like customer service is much better in larger chain retailers. The only positive was that I didn't waste my time driving there and experience the worst customer service in person.
