We really enjoyed Splash zone however the wait is long and the young kids who work there can be a bit, well, too much. I try to see it from their perspective because to them this is probably their first job so they are trying to be professional and they take their job seriously which they should. I don't mind the no camera rule because there are some sock people out there and I think they are just looking out for the children. It's not that they don't want u taking pictures, I think it would just be too hard to determine who is taking pictures of family vs taking pictures of random children. The easy solution is no cameras. Plus, you should not have your phone on u. U should live in the moment and enjoy your time with your children! read more

So when its super hot out in the midst of another drought or heat wave what are you going to do other than suffer without your AC, go to a big box store or the mall, or stand in front of your fridge with the door open? I know the answer real well now, you come to splash zone. Its one hell of a deal and then some. Its a public pool in Rosemead, but its more than just a pool. They have a bunch of squirting fountain-like shooters and a giant pair of watersliders too. So in the end this is a city pool, that has a lil bit of raging waters and a water display all rolled into one. They have a large picnic area so you can bring in grub and drinks to stop and enjoy with the family. Heck you can even have a birthday party here! Pro Tip: If the parking in front is taken, park on the street a few doors down. Its much easier than parking up the hill on the edge of the park somewhere much further away. Well the munchkin loved spending some time here. I like that there were a few shaded areas. However my favorite part was that it is only $2 for adults and $1 for munchkins! Talk about a great deal, finally something the government does to help out the common folk like us with kids who just wanna go have some fun! They rotate the pool about every 30 minutes so everyone can get a chance to hope in and enjoy it. Pro Tip #2: I wouldnt drink the water as I am sure that a number of folks have peed in it =X This is a great place to go have some good old family fun on the cheaper end of the price scale. I know that I have loved my trips here with the munchkin, but I think that she loved the trips here even more than I did. Great treat for the kids in the hot, boring summer months. I'll definitely be taking my boys back again! Best value I've found so far for those summer days that seem to drag on for so long that you want to punt your kids into a wall by bedtime. Upsides: CHEAP: At only $1 for kids and $2 for adults it's not only a way better value than splash in La Mirada, it's a better than most local pools (palm park is $3 and Pool only) FOOD: they let you bring your own food in... I saw a couple families with full size coolers on wheels coming through the doors and making sandwiches inside! STAFF: while most are just young kids, probably still in high school, the place was fully staffed. Lifeguards every few feet, and they kept the line on the slides moving. EXHAUSTING: the boys slept AMAZINGLY the night after visiting, and as any parent will tell you. That alone will earn a place 5 stars! Drawbacks... CROWDS: not the places fault.. if anything, it proves how great they are... but it limits Pool time. My son wanted to hop in the Pool but there was a one hour wait to get in.... that is AFTER we waited to just get into the facilities. Be prepared to not spend too much time in the Pool as they cycle the guests every 30 minutes. LINES: again, not their fault, but we got there at noon (the hours on the website aren't updated and said 12-3) and we were about 30 people back. Because of the price, I'm presuming, tons of day camps use this place. If you don't get there by 12:15, you probably won't get in till after 1, if you get in at all. My husband and I took our 18 month old daughter here on a Monday and boy, was it packed! For the three of us we only paid $4 so I guess they did not charge my daughter since she is so little. We parked on the street and on this particular because it was street cleaning on one side so space was limited. The swimming pool was packed like sardines. There was actually a line of people waiting to get into the pool when we got there. My concern with the pool was that the workers should not allow kids to jump into it because this particular day there was a lot of people and these kids that were jumping in the pool had no regards to others that were in the pool. Luckily, I did not see anyone get hurt, but they did come close to landing on some younger kids. If they don't allow diving and running, they should also not allow jumping into the pool. My daughter enjoyed running through the splashing waters. She had a good time there and we might come back again. I probably suggest to come early right when they open to get parking and probably weekends would not be the best to come because I can only imagine how pack it would get. For anyone trying to escape the heat and don't want to pay a lot for water prks, I would recommend coming here. read more

On a hot summer day with a toddler full of angst, there's nothing better than a water park especially when it's nearby and inexpensive. Don't expect Raging Waters here. They have 2 slides which are cool for most kids. They have an area where water fountains and buckets overhead douse the patrons. In addition, they have a shaded area with picnic tables and they allow outside drinks and food so you can picnic and get wet. There's a wading pool which is timed to allow all the patrons to use. That's a little weird but it works. If you just need to cool off, this is the place. read more

This place is nice and I make a 20min drive just for the water part of the park . Very strict on their dress code so make sure to absolutely wear swim wear if you plan on getting in the pool and/or water slides. The only downfall aside from dress code enforcement is the water slides. (only because I wanted to accompany my 4yr old son) In the water slides it's only allowed one person at a time (for safety purposes: which I completely understand) A plus for me is that when it gets full they do alternate turns on the pool read more

Was surprised at some of the staff during my second visit. Staff at the front desk are very informative and kind. However, some of the life guards or aquatic staff (no clear title) were rude and impatient with some of my kids on the water slide. I understand the job may be boring, but being rude to guests is unacceptable and unprofessional. Rules were also not followed consistently by staff. No cotton shirts allowed on slides by one worker, but allowed with the next. More consistent rule enforcement would be nice. read more

Waterpark down the street, who would have thought this, was here? Now don't expect an all-day experience for a $1. This is a clean local park with a great splash area for the kids without the crazy prices or lines. I came here on a Sunday as soon as it opened on a nice sunny day and there was no line just a few families gathered around the entrance. The locker areas were clean and the lockers were free as long as you brought your own lock. They didn't allow any towels in the water park area but that was fine. The place is very small but they have two decent size slides a splash area for toddlers and infants and a pool for splashing around. I spent $7 for my family of 5 spent about 2 hours there and had a great time. It was not at all crowded and we left with a great experience and a couple of the boys waiting to go back. So I will definitely be returning soon. read more

Great summer spot! My son and I had a great time. The lifeguards did a wonderful job making sure the kids and parents followed the rules to keep everyone safe. This place was ok before when we were here for a birthday. Today however the place is ran by a bunch of young kids who have way too many rules. It's pretty ridiculous that you cannot take pictures of your kids or with your kids. One person said as long as no one else is in there another one said none at all. Last I checked this is a public place where pictures can be taken regardless of made up rules. I asked if people were taking pictures at the park you would tell them something? The person in charge said yes he would and they can't do that. Lol I laughed at the ignorance here clearly at a public park and a public pool you cannot make someone stop filming or taking pictures but ok. Then I'm in the splash zone in a tank top and am told u need to take off your shirt, my girl would have to take her shorts off and shirt off to be in the splash zone?!? Ok the. We get told you cannot carry your towel or purse it has to be checked in even though your not in the splash zone or pool?!?! I get in the pool with hat and shades and not until an hour later I'm told I can't have sunglasses on?!? He stated because they are glass I stated they are plastic then he argued. I told him these were made for swimming but apparently he was the expert and said no. All the life guards had sunglasses so I asked are they going to take thiers off he said no they need it for the glare to see better then I replied ok well I need them also to watch my kids because of the same glare. Long story but in the end this place sucks so many made up rules that have no value or truth to that are enforced by young kids who think they are the police protecting and serving our public. read more

Do NOT bring food. Although people have mentioned you can bring in food, they do not allow it unless you reserve a spot for a party. It is not clear on their website as it says "picnic area available." I checked on yelp reviews and people said you can bring in food, but when we went they said we couldn't eat inside. We were happy to go out and eat before coming back in but they said we would have to pay again. We were in there for 5 min and I was not going to pay again. After talking to the very young "manager", he made an exception to let us enter again, but really? I told them it probably needs to be added to the website that food is not allowed as some yelp reviews said you can bring in food. Before the manager came, two teenage staff approached us about the food. The first girl was somewhat respectable, the other girl lifeguard named Sarah was very rude about "advising" us of the rules and she continued to be rude throughout. Although the facilities were fun for the kids, the teenage staff can be rude, especially the lifeguard Sarah. There were a few who were kind but Sarah really made this experience bad for us. I understand that different places have rules but you can inform people in a respectful manner without talking down to others, especially if this is your first time coming and they don't explain the rules when you enter. It's like they are on a power trip. When we were standing near but not entering the splash area to watch our kids, again Sarah was quick to say "You have to take off your shirt" to my husband even though he wasn't getting wet just standing on the perimiter watching our daughter. Overall the staff needs to be trained to be respectable in enforcing the rules and telling people beforehand or posting signs, especially if it is someone's 1st time. read more

Splash Zone is an inexpensive way to entertain your kids during the summer. There is a large pool, a toddler play area, and water slides. It's best to come early to find a parking spot; space is limited. But, don't bring any valuables, we caught middle-age mothers trying to poach our bag on two separate occasions. read more

Things changed since that last time I came here. Its more of an amusement park than a pool. It has a big water slide which looks really cool and fun. Its very family and kid friendly. Had my sons birthday here and it was awesome and very affordable! If you don't mind having to carry everything in and cleaning after yourself then this would be a perfect place to have a birthday party. The staff is friendly, and the kids had a blast. So, I'm very happy to see a beautiful public place like this splash zone along with other public places being built or renovated in Rosemead. I took my nieces here last summer and they loved it. What a fun (and cheap) place to take your kids. Didn't know this place existed until we went to birthday party there a few weeks ago. It's a mini water park with two water slides, a water play area, and a pool. We came on a Saturday it was pretty busy. But for the cost of admission, I wasn't surprised at all. $1 for kids and $2 for adults. Great way to burn a couple of hours with the kiddos in the summer without breaking the bank. They have a picnic area off to the side to reserve for parties, which includes a bbq. From what my friend tells me you can rent the place after hours and have your own party. My toddler had a blast here playing here. Will definitely be making more trips here as the summer temps rise. read more

This place is great family water fun and it's SUPER affordable. It's only $1 for kids and $2 for adults. The splash pad with all kids of fun water splashy guns and showers are great for the little ones and big ones alike. The two water slides are on the mellow side so it's great for those that aren't ready for the thrill Raging Waters style rides. There are plenty of benches to sit at and you can bring in your own food and drinks! Yay! I recommend arriving right when they open. Seriously for $1 can you really complain??? I can't. Visited over a month ago w/ my 2 little girls. Paid a total of $5. Score! Initially, I thought the hours were short and odd but it was perfect. My 5 year old was able to ride the slides as often as she liked and we were able to get in the pool twice which was probably their favorite part. I don't get it being that we have a pool. Perhaps, being surrounded by 50 kids did it for them. I'll probably visit again before school starts. read more

So many kids and it was chaotic. The splash zone part was broken for 3 weeks so it was basically an overly crowded pool. They would clear the pool every 15/20 mins to let new kids go in. There's a giant slides for the bigger kids in another area but my 3 year old niece had to be basically held in the pool because it was too deep for her and too many big kids splashing around. Not worth the $3 for both of us when Arcadia is much more small kid friendly and is free. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would! First off, online it says kids under 7 have to be with an adult. My kids were 8, 9 and 10 and the "manager" said they couldn't go in! So I went in with them. Went with my child and boyfriend yesterday. I really liked it. I'm basing my rating on the time and day I went as I'm not a BIG crowd person so yea. I have a child with a special disability and he eventually liked this water park during the later hour as well. If you're not into big crowds and want a couple hours of fun I do recommend this on my visit. Also, this place is 20 minutes away from the east part of Los Angeles area. We live south east of Los Angeles and took the 10 fwy close from central dtla area. Its worth the drive. read more

Use to come to Garvey Park Pool as a kid and loved it so I wasnt sure what to expect coming here for my toddlers field trip. As much as I hate to see the original pool gone, I loved it and he loved it. So much fun. There are 2 water slides (must be 40 inches) that we didnt try a splash zone area in the middle and a pool that goes from 2'6"-4'6". I felt like a kid again playing in the splash zone. Lots of fun. You do have to wait in the line to get in the pool, they rotate everyone in and out every 30 mins. There are lots of shaded areas and benches and picnic benches and you can take in your own food and drinks. Great place to spend the hot summer afternoons and super cheap. Just make sure to get there before it opens, a line was already formed when we got there at 12pm (opens at 12:30). Will definitely be going back! read more

Really dislike the no lawn/ beach/ camping chair policy. So leave it in the car if u brought one or rather home. I would be preferable to have access to comfortable portable seating to adjust keeping a close eye on little ones during water play. Seating is limited to cement retaining walls u can sit on or metal benches at their designated eating area a bit of distance from the pool, or towels on the floor. Tip: call ahead for hours of operation. Sometimes different than posted. Twice I've gone and pool was closed an hr before what was posted. They do have plenty of lifeguard personnel and they are good about regulating safety around water play. The slides have attendants at the top and bottom just as a more upscale water park. Overall this place is great for the kiddies. A hidden gem in a residential neighborhood for escaping the occasional hot day. You can't beat anything for the admission price. I'd consider having a birthday party here in the summer because they have shaded benches that can be reserved for private parties. But I yet don't have info on pricing and restrictions. read more
