Half the pool was closed for summer 2024. The options offered was to go out of town and travel 20 minutes and use a pool 1/3 of the size. Additional incompetence examples are that on Saturday July 13, this facility decided to host a private swimming event for people who don't PAY TAXES to the village of Bartlett. Shutting down the facility for the residents that not only pay a ridiculous amount of taxes to live in Bartlett but additionally pay a pool membership to use the facility. If you host a private event in a PUBLIC space, provide transparency on how much revenue this is generating and give a tax break or compensate your tax payers and/or members. In conclusion. Like every other tax funded facility/program... it's a waste of tax payers money.

It was on a Saturday and the instructor was Angela. I could barely keep up with the class. It's like she's dancing to herself in the mirror with tons of jumping, and I don't know why people equate jumping with fitness. You can get a workout quite effectively without jumping around anyway she came up to me at the end of the class and told me because we were the same height that I should "look like her" and I was completely offended... not only is that ignorant. It's completely wrong because somebody's bone structure is not the same as somebody else's . Furthermore he should not be insulting somebody that's a paying member that's trying to better themselves. Then I took a pool fitness class. That's right here has to be the worst experience I've ever had in my entire life. On this particular day, one of the instructors I like didn't happen to come, and Terri showed up. I knew I should have left because I had already had issues with her for some reason she does not like me and doesn't try to hide it. You get the people in the pool that stand in the back row and all they do is talk and you can barely hear the music or what the instructor is saying and nobody says anything to them, but the person that's trying to better themselves that has injuries is being yelled at saying I'm "not working hard enough" or "push it harder"... even though I have injuries so on this particular day, I got screamed at in my face in front of a class of people And I was asked why I'm wasting her time and not working hard enough?!? I have an injury yet TERRI told me to push through that so I did and ended up almost five months on bed rest Another instructor tells you a move and stares off into space for about 5 minutes, then repeat. Super fun! Formats aren't followed correctly. You get classes here that cancel with very short (or no notice at all)! when you find an instructor that you like, they end up leaving or have previous commitments. Needless to say I have canceled my membership. I found somewhere that is less expensive that offers more. This place does not have a hot tub. They do not have tanning and they do not have massage chairs. People are not very friendly here and that's not conducive to feeling comfortable. And I have had at least four people tell me they are not comfortable there because they feel like they're constantly being judged so this cannot only be me that fails this way I can go elsewhere and feel totally accepted. No matter my size no matter my injuries and have every amenity that I want and then some . Yesterday when I tried to cancel well, I'm sure you can imagine I was met with more rudeness which only solidified my decision and I had gone back-and-forth with this for five months and there's no point in wasting my money for something I'm not using and I'm not happy with I would just say look around a little more might find something with instructors that actually care if you succeed. After the 3rd time taking the same class, I was denied the "swimmers guaranteed". Which states that if your swimmer repeats a level 2x they will be offered assistance the 3rd time. If they have to repeat the level a 4th time, it's is supposed to be "on us". I'm being told that because two of my sons attempts at the level were "camps" ie 4x a week for 2 weeks and 4x a week for a month, that I didn't qualify for extra help in his 3rd go round because "camps don't count" and likewise the 4th "on us" session per the technicality. I have been at the school for numerous turnovers that have directly affected the quality and consistency of their programs. I have never once complained. Now, when my son is struggling, I have been shown no understanding or treatment like a valued customer of 8 years. Shame on you.

They seem a little pricey but there are options to keep costs down if you can be flexible with your schedule. And frankly, all swim schools may be pricey now, I have no idea. It is always clean, and safe. Everybody is in such a good mood. A great environment for kids. Highly recommended.

We have done their JSCs for both of my kids this summer and have now signed up for weekly lessons. My daughter literally screamed and cried at the last place we were at and here she has had 0 tears! The water is warm so my kids are not shivering during lessons. The instructors are great and keep the kids on task and focused on the skills there are working on. I have noticed that sometimes they have a second (floater) teacher that goes to each lane and helps out as a second teacher for a few minutes and then move on to another class. At the end of each class teachers give you a little summary of how your child did. Sometimes the kids even earn ribbons for accomplishing different goals, which my kids absolutely love. I think it's a great motivator for them as well. The facility has some great added touches with amenities like an area with blow dryers, showers with soap in the pool area. It's well kept and clean. My kids are growing and becoming more confident and comfortable in the water. I could not be happier here!

At her first makeup class, Saylor was so scared, she was crying hysterically and refused to get in the water. Eleanor, who I believe is one of the managers, knows Saylor from seeing her, and jumped right in to save the day! Eleanor went above and beyond to make sure Saylor was comfortable, and by the end of the first makeup class, Saylor was thriving! At our next makeup class, Eleanor had Saylor's favorite toys waiting for her, and Saylor loved that, and had no tears, and was ready to swim! I just wanted to say, we have loved everyone we have worked with at Goldfish St Charles, and we definitely appreciate Eleanor going above and beyond!
