Before reading, it's important to know we took our vehicle here because it is the closest Kia dealer to us and our vehicle is under warranty....
I am so incredibly disappointed and disgusted with the level of care my husband and I have received from the service department at Spitzer Kia in Cleveland, OH. On September 8, 2023 we were driving and our engine suddenly failed and would no longer accelerate. We had our vehicle towed to this location where it sat in their service lot for 10 DAYS before it was even looked at on September 18th. We were told all the vehicle needed was an ECU (engine control unit) update - once this was completed we picked up the vehicle. On October 12, 2023 the same vehicle broke down again with the same issue - failed engine and no acceleration. Once again we had the vehicle towed where it sat in their service lot of 8 days and was not examined until October 20. This time we were told it was the "knock sensor" that needed replaced - this was completed and we picked up the vehicle. Not even 24 hours later, on October 21st IT BROKE DOWN AGAIN. Once again we had it towed to the dealership. Between all 3 break downs, my husband and I have spent almost $1,000 on rental cars. Finally on the 3rd time we demanded a rental car on their dime because there was absolutely no reason we should have ever been given the vehicle back before it was given a full inspection the first time. It was determined we needed a new engine, so we have been waiting for that to happen.
Now we get a call today stating we owe them $200 because there was a wiring issue because an animal chewed through it and we didn't actually need a new engine. Had this been discovered the first time - we would have spent significantly less money than we have on the rental cars. We were not provided any proof/pictures this was actually the case.
During all of this, I reached out to their Service & Parts Director, Kim Boutell 3 times, with 3 voicemails and never heard back from her - although she did call my husband once. I also emailed the General Manager, Freddy Mansour and the Service Manager, Tom Wolfe with no response what so ever. Our service advisor, James Martin has been helpful throughout the process, but has been incredibly difficult to get into touch with.
My husband and I wish we had read other Yelp reviews before taking the vehicle there because we never would have taken it there had we known what we know now. Kia will most likely be losing our business as we will be selling the vehicle and purchasing another one from a different dealership and most likely a different make.
If I could give them 0 or negative stars, I would but I suppose 1 star will have to do for now. read more
