We recently put a pool in at our house. We chose Spiro Pools because after talking to 3 different pool companies we felt that they were the best company for us. Everything went well picking out materials and being put on the schedule. Everything was great until we started having issues. They dug and poured our pool and then let it sit for over 2 1/2 months and they lied to me saying it was still in the curing phase. Concrete takes 30 days to cure. What Spiro does is they hurry and dig a lot of pools then they let them sit. Their communication or lack of is terrible. Fortunately we had someone I could deal with instead of dealing with the office. I won't go through all the issues we had with Spiro because it would take too long. What I will say is they do provide quality work and quality products. Every company will have issues but it's how you deal with the issues and Spiro does not handle issues well at all. The office becomes very defensive and blames everyone but themselves. I was very happy to have my pool finished and no longer need to deal with them but unfortunately I once again have another issue and since it's paid for they are choosing not to deal with. Please do your homework when choosing a pool company. read more

AWESOME COMPANY! Spiro Custom Pools is the best in Southwest Florida

do not do business with this company. technicians are consistently late and offer generally subpar pool maintenance services. on several occasions techs have arrived without cleaning equipment & failed to perform basic functions (like cleaning the filter), causing algae blooms in our pool. they also show blatant disregard for their longstanding clients, especially those impacted by the recent hurricane. when I had damage to my pool area, I reached out for basic guidance on locally-owned companies to contact for aluminum work, and was told that they would not make any recommendations. instead I was asked to pay a service fee just so they could come assess damage & subcontract out the services and get their cut. 4 other contractors (none of which we have any existing commercial relationship with) came to assess the damage & provide quotes for repairs/replacements and NOT A ONE required any "service fee" to do so. After reluctantly paying the service fee, I waited for 2 weeks for an update on when this "service" would take place, and in that time I secured a local company for our project. when I asked for the money I paid to be applied to my monthly service fee I was told that service fees are non-refundable & I was on the hook for it, DESPITE NEVER RECEIVING THE SERVICE I PAID IN ADVANCE FOR! I'd strongly encourage anyone considering using Spiro to look elsewhere. We were one of the few left in our neighborhood still using them due to all the service issues & steadily rising fees. Don't make the same mistake we did & flush thousands down the drain with this company. there are plenty of other reputable companies out there who treat their clients with respect. read more

Had a pool built with them, finished July 2021. I won't even go into the issue with that but there were several. Since our pool was finished we had to make several service calls, 5 total. 3 of the times the equipment was bad and was replaced. These last two times we sprung a leak on our fill canister outside our cage. Not sure the exact terminology. They came out and fixed it, but raising it up with our pavers we had left over from building the house which we had intended on using in our yard. So clearly the original placement was a problem but yet they still charged me 250$. Now 8 months or so since they completed our build we popped circuits on our pool panel every day. I emailed and asked them to come out and of course they're going to charge me. So their shoddy work is causing me extra money they charge me to fix issues not even 1 1 year after the pool is complete. I won't get started on having to tell the weekly service tech to vacuum the pool, or clean the filter as it hasn't been done in over 2 months. Oh and I asked for the serial numbers of the equipment to register warranty, they claimed they did it. I called pentair they had no record of it. I was able to register some of the equipment that is accessible but not all. So my 100k$ pool equipment may or may not be warrantied should something happen. read more

Spiro is so good I even have him doing my own family's home. He's multi talented and can fix just about anything! I've had no complaints with over a hundred properties that all use him. We built a new home last year & our contractor had Spiro build our pool. We met with the owners to pick out our pavers, tiles, colors etc and they were very nice and helpful. There were some delays BUT we were building a house during a local boom and start of covid 19 so most construction companies were running behind. The materials they used for a basic (non upgraded pool) are quality, we had another (basic pool) built 6 years ago and that company did not use nearly as nice materials. We had some issues with our pool equipment wifi set-up BUT EVERYONE at Spiro was on top of it and didn't stop until it was working perfectly. The subcontractors they used are professional and thorough. We even liked the pavers so much (and the crew that did the install) we had them add the same pavers to our front entry. We currently use the pool service once a week to maintain. Our service guy is Marcus and he is VERY nice. He is stealth quiet, I usually don't even know when he is here. I have dealt with Angela, Courtney, Jeff and Marcus for over a year now & can honestly say that they are professional, honest and quick to resolve problems. read more

We interviewed several pool builders befor deciding on Spiro. From the very beginning dealing with Jeff and Courtney was a real pleasure. They helped us lay out of design, and choose the best colors and pavers for a patio. They were always available for our phone calls and had quick answers to our questions. Called and made an appt. for pool service repair. The person who answered the phone set up the appointment for mid morning. At approximately 12:30 I called and left a message that no repair person had come or called. The person in the office called me back and said that she would call and check to see and call me back with a time that they would be at my home. Another hour went by no phone call back so I called again and left another message to please call me. No one called me back and I waited the entire day for the repair person that never showed up. This company is a thief! They are dishonest and don't have the money to build pools. Stay far away and don't give them a deposit. This company is ran by this guy's wife, Courtney Swain-Spiro, and she is a huge liar. I gave a deposit in December 2017 and was promised that my pool would be started in January 2018. That never happened. Then Courtney Swain-Spiro promised it would be started at the beginning of February. Of course that never happened either. Then she promised it would be started by end of February and that never happened. It was one excuse after another. She never applied for my permit till the end of February. The permit was completed and ready to be picked up on February 26th. She never picked up my permit till mid-March! She then had the nerve to send me another bill of $4,000.00 and still never gave me a dig date. Finally I wised up and called her and told her I wanted my deposit back because I could of had my pool built by now. She tried to convince me that I shouldn't fire them and she was DEFINITELY NOT giving me back my deposit. So I hired another pool company INTO H2O POOLS & SPA'S and they were able to start my pool within 1 week. I am writing this review because I don't want this to happen to anyone else. Don't do business with Spiro Custom Pools- trust me they will just take advantage of you. If you have any questions about them, I would be happy to talk to you. Spiro gave the best genuine first impression, best response time through our many questions, best working with us on our budget, created the best custom pool with personal touches, and we cannot thank them enough for working with us through this process. They gave the most genuine helpful first impression and you feel like you are a team creating a beautiful custom pool together. The first Initial conversation over the phone with Ashley as she answered all our starter questions, helped us to feel confident in the Spiro team. We met with Courtney in their showroom and her pool design expertise made us feel like we had our own individual pool designer to assist in creating the most unique beautiful pool for us.
