if I could leave a rating of ZERO I would. I just told my pool tech DANIEL to never add liquid chlorine to my pool. When I came home today, the chlorine smell was so strong that I couldn't even sit on my lanai much less get in the pool. My aqua check registered the chlorine at a 9.9 which is the highest level it's even capable of registering which actually means my chlorine could be as high as a 20 or 30 and I wouldn't even know it. When I used a strip to check the chlorine, the color was so dark purple it was ridiculous! Daniel sabotaged my pool today! I have video footage of him, leaving at least a gallon of chlorine in my pool‼ After reading this review, I can promise you you are foolish if you ever hire this company, they absolutely suck ‼‼‼ read more

I was almost side swiped and run off the road by one of their aggressive and reckless drivers who was driving at least 20mph over the speed limit in the pouring rain. Having them come anywhere near your business or community is a huge liability as they have no regard for safety or the speed limit. read more

Rikki and her vibrant personality was an amazing help to my pool that was going downhill from a previous company i was using. She turned my pool around and made me a priority when I signed up. Unresponsive! Took 6 weeks for an evaluation as to functioning of pool heaters and examination of problems. Finally a technician was sent from Tampa and fixed a valve that had to be replaced. Told me he wasn't coming back to fix other problems because pool troopers technician was fired and no one else was available. No follow up! How do you stay in business? read more

Pool Troopers apparently purchased my previous pool company. If communication, responsiveness and management of a pool and its equipment is important to you, then I STRONGLY recommend looking for a different company. #1. They turned off my skimmer without telling me and while I was out of state for 4 months. #2. They added chlorine tabs to skimmer to my saltwater pool. #3. I just found out that my Salt system control panel was out and Pool Troopers failed to mention it to me to replace it. This must be the #4. Black mildew was allowed to develop for months. They never addressed it. #5. There is calcification on the tiles, it wasn't even attempted to be removed or I wasn't notified by Pool Troopers. #6. I contacted Pool Troopers 3 times to address issues and their systems didn't allow for any type of reasonable response. #7. When I called the 4th and final time to terminate their service, they said that they'd come to my home to remove my equipment. Very unusual response, especially considering they didn't supply any of my equipment. #8. Other than my call to terminate their service, they never had any other communication with me since they "took over" my account. I STRONGLY recommend anyone interested in a pool maintenance firm to check the reviews on the company. And, read the responses from the company. Very, very telling! read more

Pool Troopers purchased my previous pool co. I am not pleased with the service. We rent our home and live in another state. If we had a problem with the pool, our previous co. was there the same day or the very next morning to address the issue. I called Pool Troopers on a Monday morning and was told that they could get there Wednesday and would call me. Never received a call, but got an email stating our lanai was locked(which was not true). Instead of calling me the technician left and was not coming back until Thursday-4 days after my initial call! I would not recommend this co.-absolutely horrible customer service. read more

We have been so pleased with Bay Area Pool Service. Until we bought our home in southwest Florida neither my husband nor I had owned a pool. We were clueless about the equipment, maintenance and cleaning. We used a provider recommended by the previous owner, but they were unreliable and of little help. Someone recommended Bay Area and we have been very happy with their service. They have replaced and repaired some of our equipment, installed a salt chlorinator (and if you don't have one, run out and get one!) and do all our maintenance and routine cleaning. We have recently sold this home and had to scramble to make some minor repairs on short notice and they were so understanding about meeting our deadline. We are moving into another home in the area and will definitely use their services at the new home. read more
