Not to be mean or trite, but I really wasn't expecting a really first-rate skateboard shop--with…read moretwo locations at that--in Macon, Georgia. Nothing wrong with Macon, but given that Gainesville, Florida is a booming college town and can't even manage a shop of this caliber . . . given that Daytona Beach has a long history of skateboarding and a sick new park and can't manage something this rad either, I guess I was kinda surprised. Clockwork carries Nike SB sneakers--they may in fact be the only Georgia store outiside of the Atlanta metro area to do so (unless Augusta or Athens has one that does). They also carry a great selection of decks, trucks, wheels, clothing, and other brands of sneakers and soft goods that appeal to skaters. Both stores--the Macon Mall one and the one down near Warner-Robins AFB--are simply beautiful spaces. Many skate shops are thrown-together affairs with little thought to aesthetics, which is funny because most skaters I know are into things like the visual arts or woodworking so you're think our stores would carry over the same desire for good design we seek on decks and in our clothing. Clockwork does this: the stores are really beautiful. You don't expect that in a mall store. So you've got some chill kids running a skate shop that carries most everything you'd expect in even a big-city shop like the SBs and other limited, rare, goods and you have it in a moderate-sized Southern city's mall . . . yeah. Savannah, where I lived for a while, and of course Atlanta, act like they've got the market on sophisticated youth culture in Georgia and then here comes along a skate shop with two locations down in Macon that just blows everything else out of the water.

SEEK AN OPTOMETRIST ANYWHERE ELSE. At my appointment, I was told I had to get a special test done…read morebut have to drive an hour to another location, as they can't do testing at their office in Macon. When I called to ask Dr. Earls more questions before scheduling the exam, I was told she was with a patient - she never called me back. I called back a week later to ask for Courtney, who never seems to be in the office, and again was told Dr Earls would call me - she never did. After 3 phones and tomorrow being THREE WEEKS, I STILL have not heard from their office AT ALL. Today I called a final time and was told by the receptionist that it wasn't "a doctor day," that Courtney isn't in, and then told that Dr Earls would be out ALL week for Spring Break (NOT what the receptionist originally said). I'm obviously being given the run around, and after spending close to $1,000 for their overpriced glasses and sunglasses at my last appointment. Dr Earls is excellent...IF you can see her in person. She doesn't return phone calls, neither does Courtney, apparently, and the receptionist doesn't seem to want to help pass on messages, as she gives the run around when explaining where the two primary employees are at any given time of the workday. After years with this company, and already being frustrated with the high prices, this was the final straw. Our family will be finding an optometrist and eyeglass company that respects and corresponds with customers in a timely fashion. I DO NOT recommend DePoe for these reasons.

I payed $120 just for an exam and a contact "FITTING" (putting in the contacts myself) this price did not include any contacts nor glasses. The glasses were an additional $210 on top of the other fees. They only have high end frames so just be prepared or don't come at all. Just buy glasses online fam. In this economy outrageous. The people were nice but I was not expecting $330 price tag. A redeeming quality was the service. Everyone was kind and explained what was happening. I mostly have a gripe with a lack of transparency within the medical industry.

She started by asking great questions and listening to what we loved about our space already, how comfortable we might be with different kinds of changes (paint, etc.) and what we really needed from the space. On-time and on-budget we got an electronic design guide, along with a fully linked shopping list for all of our items. The items really felt like us--from a crazy green loveseat to an adorable line-drawn cat pillow--and came from a variety of sources. We've chosen to pull the room together slowly, which, with a little legwork, is letting me buy some of the items as they go on sale. I LOVE the final design--even in our tiny space she figured out a dedicated play space for our daughter!--and am so excited to see everything pull together. So, what I'm saying is, hire Lesley. She's a joy to work with, she obviously loves what she does, and she's fantastic at it.

I said no please transfer my prescription and she said she wouldn't do that until my evaluation is complete (even though the doctor said I could purchase them after he saw me a week earlier). I asked if I have paid in full and she said yes, I said then why did you charge me if the eval is not complete and she said this just how we do it. I said I have to work to pay for doctors and eye insurance and that I can't come back up here again so please issue me a refund. She issued me $55.25, and never told my why I wasn't given the full amount.
