As soon as our party arrived there was a tension from the rigid manner in which the staff greeted us and bizarrely kept us waiting in a sort of pre-table purgatory near the door. Having already booked and with only two other tables in the restaurant, it was a bit strange why the staff would want us to sit in what was a bit like a doctor's surgery while we studied the menu - the bar area was hardly the best or cosiest area of what is a bright and tasteful restaurant? - this isn't fine dining and it's not what any of us expected so it would have been more enjoyable with a more relaxed manner. When we were finally seated on the wobbly table near the back - worth the wait then! - the food was pretty good. The chicken parfait - soft pate to you and me - was lovely and the duck breast with mash was very tasty although a little over done and a bit tougher than I would like but overall the group enjoyed the portions and good blend of flavours all round and with 3 courses at 15 quid on a sunday evening it's onvious why this is a popular place.

It is always busy so I do suggest booking and not just turning up because you will be sent away with an empty tummy. The food is decent, I suggest the chicken with mango and lime - random but good! You can expect to get a three course meal for two, with a bottle of wine for about £50-60.
