Now I have been waiting 6 weeks for an injectable medication, they were short staffed when this began in April and when Nancy came back she couldn't be bothered to call me back so I could f/u, her excuse after being back 3 days she was resetting passcodes and when she tells you she will call back she never does. I was a bit lost being my first time and walked down to the lobby for advice. The elevators you plug into a pad at the entrance to the elevators and it tells you what elevator to take. Once inside this smart elevator brings you to the floor as you already entered the information. Once inside you will meet Elaine the nicest person you will ever meet at a medical professional office in your life. After filling in the 10 pages of paperwork and pay co pay you wait for your turn to see the doctor. Once I was called in I met the doctors assistant who took down some additional information and took my blood pressure. The doctor arrives shortly after and we discuss my issue. After he reviews my tests and MRI he rules out needing surgery and refers me to his associate for therapy. I appreciate his quick and thorough assessment rather than making me come back and forth for months without a resolution.

The office environment is clean, well lit, follows CDC protocols. The personnel is friendly and fast to help you. I went in for consultation and was diagnosed with a neck situation which involved vertebras C5, C6,C7 and collapsed disks. Procedures is called ACDF. Between check in, surgery and recovery it took approx 4 hours then went home. It has been 10 days and am feeling great and pain free and starting my road to recovery to strengthening my right arm and shoulder muscles. I highly recommend this office and both doctors.

This year , the new receptionist used " ugh huh " to answer my question. He is not professional at all!! I am unable to get a prescription refill unless I visit the office every 6 months. How can a pain and management office force a patient to go in every single 6 months for a prescription refill ? Obviously, patients are in pain and in need of medications due to the stressful lives we are currently living. Their policy to go to the office is not convenient to patients. Very disappointed!

For some reason I woke up this morning and the pain was raging! After calling a couple offices, Spine and Wellness Centers of America was able to get me in RIGHT AWAY! The office is clean and very welcoming. The front desk staff treated me like I was part of the family- being very understanding of how much pain I was in! They even suggested I try a different chair than I was originally sitting in because it should be easier on my lower back. Definitely put a good taste in my mouth off the bat. Then I got to meet the doctor, Michelle Weiner, and she was a life saver. Listened and seemed to completely understand my entire history, and then after that administered several shots. My appointment was with Dr. Guiffrida who is totally amazing. He has worked with me trying steroid injections, epidurals, nerve ablations. Some worked, some worked for a short period of time, some longer. He didn't shove pills at me which so many doctors do. After a procedure being rejected for pre approval, I was ready to give up. But he wasn't, we came to another plan and it has worked. I am not a trusting person and have had Not so good experiences with doctors. Dr. Guiffrida I totally trust and return to anytime.

Nov 2024, Cantor did surgery on my neck for Cervical Stenosis. He prescribed 900mg/day of…read moreGabapentin before and after surgery. When I awoke from surgery my left arm muscles had atrophied and my whole arm was numb. I could not move my left arm. My wife had to button my shirt for me. Over the next several weeks I was in the emergency room twice because my bladder stopped working..I had to wear a catheter while this was going on to allow my bladder to empty itself. Through my own research I discovered that urine retention was a side effect of Gabapentin..I stopped taking the Gabapentin..when the urologist removed the catheter, for the 2nd time, my bladder started working again. Cantor and his staff seemed unaware of this Gabapentin side effect. Also, my numbness wasn't any better or worse after I quit taking the Gabapentin. Using Gabapentin for this purpose is an off label use..it's normally used in this dosage to manage epilepsy. 5 months later after complaining that my numbness was not improving, Cantor eyeballed an MRI and dismissed my problems as Neuropraxia..he said it would be gone in 18 months. I had my doubts about his prognosis and reached out to a neurologist who referred me to a neurosurgeon who ordered a detailed EMG. 10 months after surgery the EMG report stated that there was no Neuropraxia..It stated the peripheral nerve damage caused by Cantor's surgery was Axonotmesis. The EMG doctor and the Neurosurgeon both said Axonotmesis heals at a rate of 1in per month...they said I was looking at 3-5 years for my peripheral nerves to heal. They also said the motor neurons stop healing after about 18 months. Cantor is obviously not a neurologist or he would have ordered an EMG instead of an MRI to get an accurate assessment of the peripheral nerve damage. I was misled, misinformed and misdiagnosed by Cantor and his staff. 16 months after surgery, my left arm is still noticeably smaller than my right arm, and my numbness is 100x worse than it was before the surgery. Buttoning my shirt is still a struggle. If you have surgery by Cantor and come out unscathed, you are just lucky, it certainly is not because he knows what he is doing.
