Yesterday I went to Cumberland Hill laundromat, which used to be the location of Spin City, to drop off a king comforter that I needed laundered. Typically I would pay for the cleaning, receive a receipt, and an estimated time that it would be ready.
When I arrived yesterday about 10:20 AM, the office window was closed and there was a note taped to the window stating the attendant had to run to the Bank of America. I decided I would just wait as I was not in a hurry.
I was standing by the table with my comforter when an inner door to the office opened and a man stepped out. He looked at me and told me (or the universe) he did not have time for this - there was no "hello"; no "could you come back later"; no explanation for the abruptness -just that he couldn't handle this right now and muttering about the bank and it was not the right time.
For a moment I thought he was kidding-then I think I was stunned -as this was a business and there was no one else around (meaning it didn't seem like I walked in on a rush) -then I think I was taken aback and thought he might've been having a breakdown. Scary - he left first and then I did.
I typically do not write bad or negative reviews or reviews of this length. I totally understand that people have bad days, but this was strange and erratic. This man was old enough to know how to treat customers or people in general. He could have even asked me to come back at such and such a time, however he didn't provide that courtesy and I gather does not need my business. read more
