I had an appointment with Nick at the tattoo expo in New Hampshire. He had previously done my outline, as well as discussing what I wanted to do with the tattoo. When I got to the expo, he told me that he could not do it, but he would fuck up my tattoo anyway that I wanted him to. This is for the limo - but it looks like they do not operate independently. I called and booked limo service in March to the P!nk concert in July. When I called, I was quoted 3 hours at $245 and paid it in full. The owner called me to tell me the girl made a mistake when quoting and it would be 6 hours at $600. He refunded me and I rebooked with $100 deposit (balance of cash at pick up) BECAUSE IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. Hindsight is foresight and had I known what my experience would be like, I would have held him to the "contract". I called the beginning of July to confirm I had the limo still and was told they would contact me for pick up info. A week before the show, between their calls to me and my calls to them, there were 9 phone calls! I asked for guidance and to speak to the driver about pick up times (This was my first Fenway concert) but unfortunately , that wasn't an option. Saturday before the show (on a Monday), the rep called to tell me to "bring extra cash for the tip and to pay for parking". I balked at that. We were taking a limo to avoid paying for parking which can be an additional $150 in Fenway! I told her I wasn't happy about that and that it wasn't mentioned in any of the other calls/communication I had with them. I also said there were 3 hours we were paying for the service and not using it while we were at the show and couldn't the driver find a free play to park, like a grocery store or something? She told me it was where he preferred to park. I told her then, I wasn't happy about it and didn't want to proceed. Arrangements for the limo were far more stressful that anything else and it was all last minute! After talking to all the members of our party, we decided to drive in instead of paying more than $700 for a ride to Boston and back where we would miss some of the show because the 6 hours we were to pay for wouldn't allow enough time to get us in early enough to see the start of the show and we didn't want to leave early to avoid having to buy more time. I emailed them and then called and left a message. It was a big tattoo event that weekend and "they were tied up with that" so I called again a noon on Sunday when they opened to let them know I wasn't okay with paying for parking and decided not to use the service. That is when they said the drive would find free parking.... ONE DAY BEFORE THE SHOW! Each change required many text messages and phone calls with all involved. We decided it wasn't worth it. They kept my $100 deposit and in exchange for that, I am going to share my story with anyone who will listen. read more

I was told a piece I had bought was under warranty and I could get it fixed for free/ replaced if it happened to break. A few weeks after having it the stone fell out and was flaking into my pierced skin. The piercer gave me a temporary piece of jewelry while mine was being "shipped in". They took my broken jewelry in a bag and stapled it to paperwork with my information on it. I was told it'd take 2 weeks to come in. After a month with no word for them I decided to call and check in. They told me it was still processing and they'd call me when I can pick it up. A couple months go by and I'm getting worried because I still haven't heard from them when they initially told me two weeks. I call again and the phone is passed from person to person whom all have no answer for me about when my replacement was coming in. Finally someone I speak with tells me that I won't be getting a new piece for free and that my jewelry isn't warranted. I would have to buy a whole new piece. They were not honest with me a led me onto believe I was being taken care of. Be careful with the information they give you because it could be false. read more

This shop is a walk-in service, and each time it has been worth the wait for our turn. There is even a place to eat downstairs so we can have food if the wait is long. It is unfortunate that so many negative ratings here seem to stem from peoples impatience. Safe and quality piercings take time, and I have always considered it a positive sign when a business is in high demand. It means there is a reason people keep coming in! I had a nose piercing done here, and to say that the piercer missed the marked is right on the overpriced money. She marked me in the place I wanted it, but when she pierced it, she went higher than the mark and angled it ridiculously down. I used to have my nose pierced about 10 years ago that closed up after being hospitalized, so I know the placement of the piercing I wanted repeat, and she completely messed it up. I even said at the time it was higher than I wanted. But nothing they could do about it, and I paid for a $95 mistake of a piercing. They used to be a good location to get a piercing, but never again. I will now have to wait for it to close and then repierce it and have to pay again. Went in yesterday for a simple daith piercing. I am desperate lately for any sort of migraine relief and it's supposed to help, like acupressure. Worst-case scenario it doesn't help & I end up with a 7th piercing. (I did talk to a lady while there who got hers done and it's helped her a lot with her migraines so that is reassuring.) The girl at the counter (didn't catch her name) was very friendly and nice, welcoming. My piercer Austin was so nice and did the piercing just how I like them done, quick. Thus making it pretty painless. I made the mistake of watching a YouTube video before this to see how it's done and the piercer went soo slow, the girl getting the piercing was in a very obvious amount of pain. So I made my husband come because I was nervous after that, and he was welcomed by even the owner who showed him the bar downstairs that will be opening in august while we waited. Jace from the Painful Pleasures store (inside the piercing/tattoo shop) is a complete riot and is so fun to talk to. Snagged a delta 8 cartridge from him in there for a very reasonable price. (Ended up waiting a loong time thanks to 3 girls who cut me off in line, thanks girls. ) This piercing and tattoo shop has always been my go to, 5 stars. read more

My brother and two sisters went in to get small, family tattoos because my brother and I were leaving for TX. I've been tattooed quite a few times at different shops and have found that sometimes the staff and artists can be dismissive and surly when they're doing small tattoos that don't have a lot of room for creative interpretation. These guys were great about it, however. I really enjoyed the experience and was very satisfied with the atmosphere and demeanor of the artists. The only reason I'm not rating 5 stars is because I did feel like some of the tattoos were overpriced. I understand that with a big shop there's a lot of overhead and they still have to make their money, but I still felt they were priced a little higher than the work was worth. I really enjoyed the experience though, I can't stress that enough; really alented guys and a great atmosphere I would definitely recommend this shop. read more

I went here for a navel piercing over the summer. The piercer placed it way too high, usually the bottom of the piercing should come out the navel. Mine was more like a surface piercing. I am on the bigger side so I let it go, figuring maybe it just worked better with my body type. After all, these are supposed professionals, I figured he knew what he was doing. Now here I am 8 months later and the piercing hasn't healed, and has started migrating and rejecting. So now I have to go somewhere else to have it redone. I got a tattoo by Ray a few weeks ago. He did an amazing job! I asked for morning glories I wanted them to be very delicate with no bold lineing and he exceeded my expectations. My new tattoo is by far my favorite. At first I wasn't sure if he would be able to do this style. His portfolio at spider bite only had a few pictures. It didn't reflect the different art styles and tattoo techniques he can do. I would definitely get another tattoo by Ray. Also the building was very clean and sanitary there was a man up front mopping when I came in. I have also had a few piercings done here and they again we're very sterile and answered all my questions. Everyone here has always been very polite and helpful. Helped me pick out jewelery, explained everything to me, was funny/engaging, and did a great job with his sanitation and sterilization process. The piercings were quick, easy, and mostly painless. They are not used to COMPETITION, which they now have plenty of! They act like they are "cool" and thus, by their definition of cool I guess, act like douches. Why put up with it? There are plenty of QUALITY places in the area that will treat you with respect and CUSTOMER service! Their smoke-shop is small, subpar, and again, the people treat you with a douchey attitude AND it's price?! Why would I deal with this; I'd much rather go down the street (Good Times) and Bona Fide or other tattoo places, instead of here. Also, you should know this as well, which is: the money goes to a TERRIBLE source. Why support them? Ok. Im from NYC and my husband is originally from NH. We were visiting family in town and we had to go to Spider-Bite because my daughter needed a gauge for her ear (she lost one). After laughing outside of the place for a good 5 minutes because they have: 1. tattoo parlor 2. body piercing 3. tanning 4. hair salon 5. nails 6. a freakin LIMO service. Pardon me, but any REAL tattoo parlor is known for one thing and that's for their tattoo's. They have 6 other side businesses to piggy-back on them to bring in more revenue. And if they're not after the revenue (yea right) then what kind of moron would think that those 6 businesses even BELONG together (tattoo and piercing fine, but that still skeeves me out and seems typical - Paul Booth doesnt have piercing at his shop, duh). After we spotted the gauges she wanted, we literally stood there why two "punk rock" chicks just sat behind the counter and checked out their MySpace pages. Finally I asked if someone could help me. They both sighed and said...Um, Ok. The one that helped us was nice, but a bit too overly nice. Almost annoying. After that - we were done. I laughed some more when I got outside. And swore to NEVER go back there again. Id love to bring those losers that own that place down to NY and show them what a real tattoo parlor looks like. A friend of mine had gotten numerous tattoos AND piercings here, so I was thinking of getting a tattoo here earlier per her recommendation. Since she wanted to get one of hers touched up I decided to go with her to check the place out. The "welcomer" was not very welcoming. We walked in at 7:15, and were immediately turned away after asking to do a touch up because it would take too long to set up, and the original artist was not there. The artist was very dismissive, saying he would never touch another artists work. I understand that HOWEVER it was going over a very small heart. Maybe the size of a dime. I found it very odd he wouldn't touch another artists work but would be willing to do it if they paid ( again) $50. We asked if they could look up in their system to see who actually did their original tattoo and the girl behind the desk said she was new and didn't know how to look that up. I honestly would not recommend this place after going there to anyone. The staff though there was only two of them visible seemed so rude, looking to make a quick buck or just go home. read more

I had my first tattoo done by Jason. I came in to ask a couple of questions a few weeks before I actually went in to have my ink done, and I was immediately impressed by the professionalism with which I was treated. I asked to see their autoclave and got a little tour of how everything is kept sterile. The shop itself is very clean and comfortable. I went in to actually get inked a few weeks later, a bit nervous since it was my first tattoo. Jason immediately put me at ease and took me through exactly how my tattoo would look. The finished tattoo has clean lines and nice shading; it's exactly what I wanted! All in all a wonderful experience - no complaints. Three stars not for anything bad, but it also didn't have much in the way of impressive, either. While Jason is a great artist and more or less the shining star of the place, the folks at the desk tend to be a bit surly, and some of the other tattoo artists can be a bit short with you. If I didn't know of another clean, competent shop, I'd go back, but there are a few places in Boston that blow this out of the water. read more

I visited Spider-Bite a little over a month ago and had my septum pierced. I walked into a very clean shop and was greeted by a friendly staff member, which was the only positive thing about this shop. She informed me that I would be pierced with a 16g retainer and that I couldn't touch it, move it or clean it for 3 months, which I thought was strange. The piercer called me into the room and told me the process, the actual piercing itself did not hurt so I thought he had placed it correctly. He told me the healing process again and said if I touched it then I would develop a bad infection and have to use sterile saline to clean the piercing. About two days of not cleaning it or touching it I couldn't handle the painful boogers that had glued themselves to the piercing, so I took a look up my nose, I cleaned the boogers out avoiding the piercing and having to leave the painful ones stuck to the piercing to properly follow instructions. A month had gone by and my nose was still so sore and swollen. I was using sterile saline thinking I had an infection. I finally had enough and went to two other reputable piercers which I should have just done to begin with, but I was bored and in the area. I asked both shops opinion, they both said the piercing was done incorrectly, the jewelry was way to small causing the site not to heal at all and be painful, as well as being too far back into my cartilage. I had to have the piercing re-done and now I am 100% pain free(except for the healing spider-bite wound). My nose now has to heal and will have scar tissue. I wasted my time and money here. I would not recommend anyone to this store to be pierced. read more
