I am a HOTPOT FANATIC and this place is HOTPOT HEAVEN. We started by ordering the Chicken Bowl and…read moreit cooked beautifully with a spicy and savory sauce. The chicken and especially the onions were bursting with flavor and a great start to any hotpot experience. Next, we ordered lots of meats, mushrooms, dumplings, udon etc to fulfill our appetites and it was simply delicious. The beef meat balls here are phenomenal, juicy, and flavorful. My personal favorite are the vegetable dumplings that never fail to disappoint. In my short visit to HK, I managed to eat here twice because it was such an awesome experience!! The lemon tea is also huge! Probably the largest glass cup in any HK restaurant. You might be overwhelmed by the size but soon you will finish the whole drink since it balances with the savory food and spice of the chicken bowl. The service is always fast paced and attentive. Their servers do a great job at keeping up with all the tables and making sure their hotpots and chicken bowls are cooking correctly and on time. The environment is a bit crowded but since it's a hotpot place, it is great for big groups. I love eating here in a large group because everyone can share and also participate in the experience. There will always be a wait since this place is busy but it is 1000% worth it for an amazing hot pot experience!

I love hot pot! But not a fan of chicken hot pot. This was my second time trying chicken hot pot…read moreand this place did not impress me at all. My first time at chicken hot pot was at a different restaurant. I have to say this place is better than the last one I been to. We had a big party of 11 so we ordered all 3 flavors of chicken hot pot. We had the mild which was a little toward the sweet side and not spicy at all. The medium had some spice and sweet. The spicy one was spicy and it was numbing kind is spice. I was mainly at the spicy pot. The one part I was not a fan of chicken hot pot was because eating the chicken part. You would have to eat the chicken before you get to start to cook other foods. During the time you are trying to finish the chicken you get to the point where you are tired of eating the chicken since they have at least a whole chicken or half a chicken in the pot. If you only have 3-4 people it might be a lot to eat with hot pot to follow. We didn't finished the whole chicken, we finished most of it and took them out of the pot so we can get to the good hot pot part of the night. After you are done with the chicken, you can add the soup in and wait for it to boil. For our spicy pot, it lost the spiciness after we added the soup. We had to order a bowl of sauce to add in our soup to bring the spicy back. The beef portion was small even we ordered the large plate. That was a little disappointing, I m used to getting a big plate at other places. For the price they charged for the plate of beef I think that was a rib off. The usual hot pot stuffs was OK. Very original. If I want hot pot, this would not be my first choice. And if you are planning to dine here, make reservation ahead of time, they do tend to get busy for dinner. Also, make sure you know which one you are going since there are 2 same restaurant in a block, one is on ground and the other one is either up or down stairs of a plaza.

I watched a video on YouTube and realized that this place would close down permanently in 2019. I…read moremade it a point to stop by when I was visiting Hong Kong in December of 2018. There's a line outside of the restaurant when I arrived, but I only had to wait for 20 minutes. The place is not that big, so my friend and I had to share a table with 2 strangers (very typical in Hong Kong). I ordered their infamous omelette, a small one. The food arrived quickly. Judging from the size of the omelette, it's made of at least 3-4 eggs. My small omelette was a little burnt, but it was stuffed with a big amount of sliced ham, and you could see the juice oozing out of the omelette. To wash it down of my system, I ordered one of my favorite go-to drinks at a Cha Chaan Teng - Iced lemon tea with less sweet and less ice. For those of you who have not tried an iced lemon tea at a Hong Kong style cafe, it is unlike the canned iced tea that you get where the taste of lemon and tea is overshadowed by the amount of syrup. The iced lemon tea in a typical Hong Kong style cafe is made of fresh lemon slices and brewed tea (and you could request the amount of syrup to be added). It's a refreshing drink. Overall, the service here is efficient and I definitely see that the decor and everything are nostalgic to a lot of people living in Hong Kong. They still write down the price of your order on a piece of paper off of a memo pad as your receipt which is the very old fashioned way of taking an order at a Hong Kong style cafe. Go try this place while you still can.
