This is the best Indian fusion I've ever had! Definitely get the butter chicken bowl with the green sauce on top. I don't know what that green sauce is but it's delicious. The painting on the wall was also super fun!

Spice Bro is a quick casual restaurant on our way back to Toronto. The decor was quirky and fun! To our surprise, it did not appear in our online search result. We decided to venture into the restaurant and had their samosas. It was hot and crispy. The chutney was flavourful and bright. Overall, we were fans of the Indian fusion joint!

Sahil & robin had amazing customer service to pair with the delicious food! Will come back again when im in town!

Food was yummy. Service was friendly. We had the SpiceBro bowls, naan, and mango lassi. Lots of people coming and going for to-go orders.

I guess I would call this place is the Indian version of Subway, Dagwoods and Quiznos. Instead of your bread you choose the regular naan bread or garlic bread, then choose your protein, which are all Indian dishes such as butter chicken, or chana masala or other choices. Then like the other sandwiches places, you dressed them with your choices of garnishes and any special sauce. You can also make a bowl with same dishes without the naan. They also offer some Indian side dishes like samosas or pakoras. The service is excellent. Since SpiceBros is new in downtown, the owner who served us, is giving samosas in the house. The restaurant itself looks like a typical sandwich counter restaurant with few tables and chairs. The area is downtown on Sainte Catherine east street, and the view outside has nothing to rave about. So I took the Frankie roll made with naan bread, paneer butter and scorpion sauce. Each paneer was humongous size. The butter sauce tasted like the store brought jar though. Scorpion sauce was really kicking. Overall, it's an impressive fast food style for Indian dishes.

My fiancé and I ordered the butter chicken poutine and it was bommbbb! They were diced potatoes, cheese curds, and the butter chicken + sauce. I definitely would get it again. It was quite large, so it was good enough for two people to share. Spice bro's itself was a great atmosphere and the guy who helped us was very accommodating and gave us sample soup while we waited.

Great packaging! From l to r: samosa chaat, butter chicken bro bowl, bhel puri

After a terrible previous experience, we were in the area and craving some indian fast-food. After speaking to the manager about our previous experience, they were very apologetic and assured us that as they had just opened, they were still training the staff who made mistakes with the order so it would not happen again. We decided to give Spicebros another go and ordered a Butter Chicken bro bowl, bhel puri and samosa chaat to go. I have to admit, it was a huge step-up from the last time, everything was made very well and extremely delicious, comparable to its West Island location. I loved their take-out packaging - the food stayed super warm and looked great. I am happy to see a big improvement and hope that they are able to keep this up - it's within walking distance from work and has quickly become my go-to for that cheeky samosa! :P

It's a nice fast food counter with an interesting idea of bringing indian food into sandwhiches and pokebowl style. I got a chicken curry with all-dressed veggies in a naan bread. You can add a mint-coriander sauce and/or spicy sauce. Delicious! My friend got a chicken tandoori in a quinoa "poke-bowl" style. A more healthy option with good flavours. They gave us sauce samples to help decide what we want to order.

I went second time just to give this play another try and to see whether there had been any change in their food quality. I was disappointed, yet again. I ordered the cauliflower bowl and samosa. The bowl was below average. Samosa: worst samosa ever. It tasted oily and gross.

Got the butter chicken bowl with spicy potatoes and grilled veggies with a side of garlic naan. The naan was good and chewy. The potatoes were very flavorful. The bowl quite a lot of stuff for the price. The only thing I didn't like was the chicken (too dry) and the grilled veggies (slices too big).

It's towards the top of Old Montreal so we had a nice walk to and from the restaurant. We were greeted by the host and sat down immediately. The restaurant inside was very pretty and had low lighting to make it look very intimate. I'd definitely consider Veranda a fine-dining Indian restaurant. We ordered the samosa tarts and malai chicken tikka from the appetizers and both were absolutely delicious! We also ordered mango lassi, butter chicken, and garlic naan (all automatic orders for us when we go to Indian restaurants) and none of them disappointed. However, we were a little disappointed that they didn't have a few menu items that we see back home or at other Indian restaurants like onion bhaji, pakora, biryani and tandoori chicken. The only complaint we had was the service wasn't that great. Our order was taken a few minutes after viewing the menu and the staff was very friendly but after we finished our appetizers, we felt neglected as other tables were served their food and we were waiting 25-30 minutes to get served our main dish. We had to let the server know that we were done our appetizers and ready for the main dish. I'm not sure if this is normal in Montreal or at Indian restaurants in Montreal? Other restaurants we were served our courses immediately one after the other, with maybe 5-10 minutes in between. It wasn't busy either for a Wednesday night where they only had 3-4 tables. Regardless, we would recommend Veranda to anyone craving Indian food who wants to eat in Old Montreal! The food is delicious!

Ordered Dahl soup, chicken tikka masala, Chana masala, Tardka Dahl, 1 basmati rice (none comes with your meal, rather odd) and 1 garlic naan bread. C$79.33 I can't say we have ever been to an Indian restaurant where you have to order and pay for the rice at all. The complimentary cracker, papadum is quite salty on its own. I am not loving the onion salsa or the yogurt chia dip so much. Their complimentary items are not for me. 1 order of Naan is literally 1 piece of naan for the two of us. Best to assume everything is a la carte. The basmati rice is flavored and topped with crispy onions and peas. It's ok. I do feel for the 3 dishes we ordered, at least one rice should have come with it as an accompaniment. The garlic naan is good, chewy and warm. The lentil soup isn't so good, it's quite runny, as water and doesn't have much flavor to me. The Tardka Dahl is good. The Chana masala is good as well. The chicken tikka masala is the best part of the meal. Rich and super flavorful profile, sauce is fantastic with the bread or the rice. Huge chunks of chicken and not a lot in the dish. I could easily have eaten this on my own. Service was good.

Montreal's most magical dining experience!…read more If you're looking for a reason to book a trip to Montreal, let me give you one: Tula. My husband and I visited during a recent trip to the city, and without question, it was the best meal we had -- and honestly, one of the most memorable dining experiences of our lives. From the moment you walk through the door, the space wraps you in warmth. The atmosphere is inviting, the decor puts you instantly at ease, and the staff greet you with the kind of genuine kindness that's increasingly rare. But it's Abhi and Renata (apologies if I've misspelled either name!) who truly make this place something extraordinary. These two are the heart and soul of Tula, and their passion for what they do radiates through every single aspect of the experience. We spent a few wonderful hours there, and I mean that -- the time just melted away. Renata sang for the entire restaurant, and her voice was absolutely stunning, a spontaneous and beautiful gift to everyone in the room. Abhi, in the most generous gesture, sat down and hand-wrote a list of vegan restaurant recommendations from around the globe for us to take home. These are people who love what they do and love the people they do it for. And then there's the food. Oh, the food. We started with an Indian taco special that set the tone perfectly, then moved on to the Tofu Achari Masala curry with chapati and the Dal Sambar with steamed rice -- both absolutely spectacular. We finished with a special pistachio cake dessert that was the perfect, dreamy ending to the meal. Every single dish tasted like it was made with genuine love and intention, because it was. This is vegan Indian cuisine at its very finest. I left Tula feeling something I didn't quite expect: greater faith in humanity. That might sound dramatic, but if you go -- and you absolutely must go, as soon as possible -- I think you'll understand exactly what I mean. Don't wait. Just go.
