Craving Indian food, I ordered from Spice Trail while working downtown. Samosa (Veg) - delicious, great flavor and the samosa wrapper was not too thick. Garlic naan - it was ok. I think the delivery trip contributed to the floppy texture, I'm guessing it would be better eating this at the restaurant. Aaloo Gobi: this dish had a brothy consistency. I was surprised by this since I've had creamy sauces in my experience but this is the first time I tried this dish so I didn't know what to expect. You're hit was the spice aroma as soon as you walk in the door. Staff were nice, but the space is small so any crowd makes it's hard to hear. The food was just okay. The naan isn't made in house and you can tell. Definitely Indian cuisine with a flair, so don't go expecting traditional dishes. I also don't feel like they're bit group friendly. Our group all ordered a variety of items with most of us ordering small plates like the dip. About 20mins after half the table received their dips, I started to wonder where mine was and someone mentioned the server placed a group of dips at their end of the table for us to share. No. I ordered and was paying for my food, it needs to be placed where I was sitting. Also, the check came all on one without an option to split it to a smaller more manageable amount. The three stars are because it's just not my choice of a meal with a lot of spice as it was hard for me to taste the flavors and enjoy the meal with the hotness and spiciness overpowering. Yes, the service was amazing and the explanation given was exceptional. And yes it was communicated to us ahead of time regarding the bread not being made in house which again might be okay for a different clientele. This is the first time we are going to this Indian restaurant. However, this is not like any authentic Indian restaurant that you may have tried in the past. Here are the chef seems to be wanting to make or create something different than a regular Indian restaurant, which I think if you are someone who is looking for something out of the ordinary then this is a place to go. The spice level on the food was normally more than what I would have wanted. They have very less menu options and they have some vegetarian. I am unsure if they even have any vegan options. They are good for business, casual and family friendly. The parking is on the street. There is no separate parking lot. I am unsure if they have any outdoor seating but then we went in Winter so there was no outdoor seating open at the time. I'm also unsure if they do any carry out but I want to guess that they do. The service was amazing. The person who served us discussed in the length about chef's options and creations and give us details on different menu options on the menu card. Long wait (admittedly for a group but wasn't that busy). Food was okay but overpriced for size. Because I knew bread wasn't made in house, I didn't order but that took away from the experience of enjoying Indian food. We were charged 22% gratuity because we were a group. It's high especially when I waited for my food way over an hour and the bill wasn't split up. So decent food, central location (good but bad for parking) and slow kitchen. read more

The menu is extremely limited. And is not very diverse. While it was not representative of the wide rang if Indian cooking, it strangely featured Chicken Tikka Marsala which was invented by a Bangladeshi in Scotland in 1971. Tikka Marsala with a side of hagis? The covia was dry and over-cooked and the rest of the food was about average for a Mom and Pop Indian restaurant. The food is delicious, but a bit overpriced, particularly the scallop special, which was $32 for three scallops. Also, they charge two dollars for minute sauce portions... Probably no more than 2 tablespoons.. Their sauces should definitely be free, considering how expensive the small food portions are. The alcoholic beverages are also overpriced, and some of the tables are too small.... They stuck three people at my table, and it was barely big enough for one. read more

The turmeric ginger drink is incredible. The garlic naan and samosa's are tasty. I've lived my mains but also like other Indian better.

Everything was so delicious! We tried the Paneer Pakora and Samosas for appetizers and loved both. The shrimp and chicken dishes were really good. I loved the decor and atmosphere. Definitely will come again! read more
