Winco was new to me and while not related to WinDixie it has a range of basic and affordable house brands as well as name brands. with a good produce section. I'm not sure about the meet dept but it looked clean, well organized and stocked. I was there for bread and eggs and left with two heavy and tightly packed bags of food for under $50. I won't be hitting the HEB at dawn/ 7AM anymore to beat the crowds, I'll do Winco once a month when I wake up early at 4AM and can get there from Plano with zero traffic and red lights. They have better prices on a lot of things than Walmart and certainly than Kroger. If your grocery bill is exploding the last year or two try shopping here at least once a month. Best part was the checker said they are an employee owned company which is a huge plus to me over over these chains that are gouging people over profits on food and staples while not giving any benefits because they mostly staff with part timers. Did you know that Kro-ger made $1.24 BILLION PROFIT in 4Q25, that was in 3 months of the 2025 year. Search for Kro-ger 2025 profit and you can see the SEC report!!

I don't know why I thought Albertsons had closed all of their locations. Apparently they haven't. I…read moreused to like shopping at Albertsons back in the day. It has been years since I've shopped at one. The only reason I ended up here is because I was in the area for lunch and I try to do my best to be intentional about my grocery shopping by staying away from Kroger as much as possible because of their poor quality and lack of standards (I've come across too many rotten foods and I have seen numerous items on their shelves past the expiration dates- meats and eggs included). I will pay more to stay away from Kroger if I can. Well what a big mistake that was yesterday! En route to lunch, I noticed Albertsons and decided to come back around to it after lunch. Several of the shelves are empty. Several of the refrigerated sections are empty with stale water in them and signs that say "do not open". The place has a horrible smell to it and the quality of their produce was horrendous. My grocery shopping experience was a let down and I left out of there completely disgusted. I should have known better being that the parking lot was mostly empty on a Saturday afternoon. To make matters worse, I had too much water at lunch and had to use the restroom before I hit the road. OMG! This was the most disgustingly filthy public bathroom I've seen in a very long time. Filthy sink, filthy stool and filthy floors. The board of health needs to go look into this place. It's a health risk from all angles. I never thought I'd say anything is worse than Kroger

I was starting to wonder if I could find a good go-to in Dallas with a hearty selection and good customer service. I found the white corn flour I was seeking at this location and thensome! It was one of those trips where I didn't grab a cart thinking I'd only grab 2-3 items but then had to cut myself off from shopping and stand, arms shaking (especially due to the partial watermelon I picked up) in the checkout line awaiting my turn with a cashier...and then that cashier looked me in the eyes, asked me how my day was, and even gave me a tip about cactus as a potential skin treatment!! A precious attendant asked me if I really wanted to check out here because it takes long to add the coupon to the system as it would have to be done manually. He said "okay, scan the chicken and I can help out when done". I scanned it and as I was finishing he walked away! To the back of the store. Not to be seen. I hit the "help" button and Jesus comes in, I explained the situation and he took the time to add my coupons. What a saint. What a wonderful attitude he had.
