The chief came out and spent some time talking with us. He has been cooking in a variety of establishments for 14 years. He has put together an Indian Fusion theme here that is on a new level. I had the Chicken Wraps and found myself stopping to think about all the different flavours and how they were 100% perfectly balanced. The poutine was also incredible. My wife had a Salmon special they were offering and said it was on top of her list as well. All the ingredients used were incredibly fresh and local. No preservatives either! The talent here alone was worth the ferry ride from Van!

Oh, and the friendly, helpful person while we did our order. He was a great first impression The menu is limited due to COVID. There were five dishes on offer - vegetarian, two meat dishes and two seafood choices. Each choice came with rice and veggies. The food was really good although the naan was just okay (but could be a covid thing) The person eating the vegetarian thought it was good but not outstanding HOWEVER the lamb korma, butter chicken and the curried salmon were all OUTSTANDING. The portions were large and we could have got by with three orders (but are happy to have leftovers). And considering the size of the portions, we found the price to be really reasonable. We look forward to ordering from there again and we certainly look forward to being able to go and enjoy a meal in the restaurant. We would recommend.

HOW EVER I have a few reasons to think otherwise. First, already had to wait like an hour and a half for my food. Even though all the tables were empty. (About the food) The curry that I was recommended was cold, with raw chunks of chicken and something brown in it, my butter chicken we SPECIFICALLY order with mild spice was burning hot to the point where i chocked on the food and threw up in my mouth. I found pistachio in my brother's curry, when we specifically asked for it without due to the fact that he is deadly allergic to it, (thankfully we were carrying an epi pen). Second of all there was this little annoying little tub butter who appeared to be around the age of 13 wearing a spiderman mask. He was borderline harassing me, my brothers, and wife(especially my wife). He then threatened to tell the owner on me saying it was his father. The nan bread was amazing however it was absolutely delicious. And the mango ice cream was a bit too creamy I really feel my experience was similar to landon and Dutch. Will not be coming back. UNTIL THESE PROBLEMS ARE FIXED. Please do better I right this review from the bottom of my heart and all that I say is to improve your restaurant. (Ps. this is what curry should look like ).

We got there with 30 minutes left in the Sunday buffet, but that was not our goal. The place was fairly full, but you could tell they were there for the buffet. I checked out the food in the warmers and it looked pretty good. We were sat quickly, our waters dropped promptly in cool copper and stainless glasses. The menu is fairly extensive but we had already decided on the meat dinner special for two as it provided a good variety of their offerings. We ordered some wine, and the food came out very quickly. It looked great, with the exception of the aforementioned chicken leg, which tasted great but was obviously cooked to death. The balance of the meal was really great and plentiful. The Chicken curry and Lamb curry were good and I am not a lamb guy. It was a solid hit, and a good way to experience the cuisine. The decor could use some work, it's fairly spartan, and the white rectangle painted on the wall for the projector doesn't help. You clearly don't go for the ambiance, but it's a solid 4+. We'd certainly go again.

The young server greeted me and seated me very quickly. About half of the restaurant was occupied with a family birthday party. The adults and the kids wee enjoying themselves. It's a family friendly place. I ordered: - Special beef pho (P1) which has a little of rare beef slices, flank and meat balls. - Deep fried chicken wings and drumsticks - Prawn salad rolls (takeout) The soup of the pho was good. While I thought it would be rare beef slices, the beef was all cooked. I thought maybe the soup was too hot? Maybe the beef was cooked by the soup on the way they served from the kitchen to the dining room? I was too hungry to raise a question. The beef was OK, not tender. I appreciated the flank and the meat balls. It would be better if they can add one to two other toppings. It's a special noodle. Other Vietnamese places tend to have 4 to 5 tops. They served bean sprouts, a quarter of key lime and a little basil leaves on the side. The pho noodles were cooked perfectly. They have medium and large sizes. The large size had a reasonable portion of noodles for its size. The deep fried chicken wings is something I highly recommend. They probably used fish sauce and honey or sugar as the coating sauce. It was very apetitizing. It also had a bit of spicy kick. The Prawn salad rolls were saved for later. They go well with their homemade peanut sauce. The prawn and the veggies inside were fresh. The chef was a young Asian guy. I think they have room for improvement on sourcing ingredients. The location is convenient. Free 2-hour street parking is available. They are open everyday except Sunday.

Rare beef slice, flank, meatball, and instead of noodles I got veggies. The service was great, and the food came fast, but the pho itself wasn't that good. The broth is so bland and doesn't have any real flavour to it. It needed salt even. I've never had to add salt to a pho before. Because of the lack of flavor, all the meat was bland and tasted off, because it didn't absorb any of the broth flavors. Not that it really could have, because when it came to me it was all fully cooked. The old chilli paste and hoisin added a little flavor, but it wasn't enough. Super limited menu as well. If you're menu is this small you better do it right. Who doesn't have tendon or fatty beef? Last time I eat pho in Courtenay apparently.
