Bao Yeah - Garlic Gang Gang

(4.5 stars) I'd been curious about this food truck since I…read moreheard about them last year, and I'm glad that I got a chance to finally try them. Bao Yeah offers not only bao but bowls and fried chicken as well. Their ordering (via tablet) is convenient, and they turn around orders quickly. I went with a three-piece bao, which allowed me to sample the two fried chicken varieties (K*Bomb with gochujang and Garlic Gang with soy black garlic) as well as the bulgogi. All of the bao were amply stuffed with meat and pickled vegetables and slathered with tasty sauce. The thick buns held everything in place, so eating was not too sloppy an endeavor. Everything delivered the expected flavors - sweet heat from the K*Bomb, a tangier note from the bulgogi - and the fried chicken boasted a thick, crunchy batter. It was quite tasty though the chicken was definitely a bit dry. At least the bulgogi was nice and tender. All told, Bao Yeah is a promising newish addition to the Triad food truck scene. It may not be the best Korean street food you've ever had, but you're in for a flavorful meal without a long wait.

AMAZING food and GREAT service! My go to is the Holy Kow bowl and the Korean Fried Chicken with the K bomb sauce. I tried the Holy Kow Bao today- so good! We got a bowl, 2 orders of the fried chicken and extra sides of the Kimchi, bulgogi and sauces to go (so I could attempt to make bowls at home for lunches this week). The leftovers reheat perfectly and do no disappoint. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu! Now that I know how to locate them through their social media posts, I can find where they will be next and it's definitely worth a drive to get some of the best Korean food in the area!

El Sabor Tabasqueno - Some amazing chicken tacos

She was impressed with their posts and they made it easy to navigate their weekly schedule. We arrived shortly after 4pm on a Saturday afternoon at 801 Silas Creek Parkway in Winston. There were several cars there but no line. We approached the food truck and started looking over the menu. Everything they do features birria style meat. Neither of us have much experience ordering birria style dishes but the young man at the window was helpful in his recommendations on what to order for now and what dishes would save best for leftovers. We went with his recommendation to share the quesadilla now and order the tacos for later. The prices range from $12-15 per item but they also have a birria pizza for $35 which looks large enough to feed several people. We paid with a credit card and we're provided a small device that alerts customers when their orders are ready. This was the first time we have ever received something like this and though it was brilliant because so many times you order at a food truck you are stuck standing close by so you can hear your name when the order is ready. Our food was prepared in a timely manner and we decided to drive up the road before eating. When we opened up our containers everything looked incredible. We immediately dug in and the quesadilla was full of delicious ingredients and flavor. I took a few pictures of my tacos but saved them for later. I'm happy to report that they were delicious heated up. We will absolutely be back soon to try even more!

Triad friends, if you haven't had the chance to stop by this food truck yet, be sure to add it to your list! They are usually set up off of Peters Creek but if you follow their IG you can see all their upcoming locations The service is always amazing and anything you order is delicious. The Birria is flavorful and meaty and their portions are always massive. This pizza is a double decker of meat and cheese and enough to feed 2-4 people! If you're not a Birria fan the chicken tacos are always one of our favorites

O'Briens Deli - Mini Reuben Signature Sandwichon a pickle

It's a small space - a few tables inside and a few tables out - but don't let that or the line you are likely to encounter deter you. They crank out sandwiches quickly here. Said sandwiches include about two dozen hot and cold offerings as well as the ability to build your own. The meats are Boar's Head, but the desserts and soups are made fresh in-house. Check out the display case for salads and sides that might catch your eye. O'Brien's prides itself on its Reuben, and so I went with the "mini" version (a quarter rather than a half pound of meat) with a pickle for my first visit here. Ordering at the register was a breeze, and I was fortunate enough to snag one of the tables for dine-in. Though I was a bit skeptical that the Reuben would match the hype, it delivered. I don't know that it is without a doubt the best version I've had, but it is definitely up there. The grilled rye was nice and crisp, and I appreciated that they used both mustard and Russian dressing. That, plus the meat, kraut, and melty cheese, made for a very satisfying bite. At $10, the sandwich proved a good value, too. Unpretentious and nostalgically comforting (for Northern transplants, at least), O'Brien's is a well-oiled sandwich-slinging machine. Though that Reuben will be hard to top, I look forward to giving one of their other offerings (maybe a Cuban, maybe a Spicy Italian) a try.
