Growing up…read morein Los Angeles I was accustomed to fresh churros, but in NC they are usually sitting on a shelf with other pastries and probably hours old. Along comes Churro King to the rescue! This is a food truck usually parked in front of Super Compare Foods on Silas Creek Parkway. When we got in line they immediately handed us a free sample, and not a bite, but a whole churro! It was amazing! Hot and fresh, right out of the fryer, rolled in cinnamon and sugar, wrapped with a tissue and put in my hands. We ordered a dozen for $10 to take home to our kids and they were devoured before they cooled off. They offer a few different flavors if you want sauces drizzled over the top, such as lechera and cajeta, but I'm a purist and like them the standard way. So the next time you're craving a donut, try the Churro King instead.

I got wings and fries ($12) for myself. I got pizza empanadas for my sons. I also goy a kola champagne soda. This is a drink from Puerto Rico. After ordering, I was given a buzzer to be notified when it was ready. The staff person were very friendly. The buzzer went off at 5:23pm. The food was hot and fresh. However, the fries and chicken was unseasoned. Ketchup made the fries taste better. I had to eat the chicken how it was, lol. Overall, it was a good deal. My kids enjoyed their empanadas. The kola drink was interesting. It wasn't nasty but I can't say it'll be something I'd crave or be my first option. They are normally open Thursday-Saturday from 12pm-7pm at Compare Foods.

I can't speak enough about the warmth of the owners and their genuine interest in you as a customer. The food matched the vibe-the fish was hot, well seasoned, and huge portion sizes. The shrimp was delicious as well. The prices were spot on for the portion sizes. I'll definitely will be back and will encourage everyone to keep this local business going.

I got to try this food truck because it was at wiseman brewery the other day & I'm so glad I did…read morebecause it was delicious! I love yuca and I've never had yuca with rosemary & garlic oil but it was as delicious as I could imagine. They were oily of course because of the garlic oil but the flavor was great. I also had the beef empanadas and they were really good too. They're the perfect size & the breading tastes really fresh. I also loved the seasoning in the empanada. The dipping sauce paired perfectly with both the yuca and empanadas. My friend got a sandwich and I didn't try it but she really enjoyed it too. The service was good - food came out pretty quickly even though it was crowded! This is definitely a food truck I'll be on the lookout for again!

The Cubano was everything it should be. Made with golden bread pressed to perfection. Inside, the layers of roasted pork and ham were stacked. Made just right too. The melted Swiss cheese keeps it from falling apart. The pickles and mustard cut through the rich flavor by adding a slight tang. Every bite was comfort for the soul. I paired it with an NZ Pils from Joymongers and it was heaven. The beef empanadas were just as good. Inside, the seasoned beef was 100% flavorful. They weren't greasy and went well with the specialty sauce. Together, they made for a satisfying meal... it was enough to make me keep a lookout for their next Greensboro stop. Cheers!

I found it interesting that there's no modifications for their crepes, but I can see how that streamlines things. Unfortunately the crepes themselves were just meh. The balance was off on them, far too much banana and too bland a crepe batter. Also we've gotten spoiled by Chef Reto's superlative cooking. We don't really know much about authentic Jamaican food so we don't have anything to compare it to but we expected the flavors to be a little bolder and thought the jerk chicken would be spicy. The oxtail was very mild and while the jerk chicken had good flavor, it wasn't spicy. We did get the last order of jerk chicken so maybe that affected the quality but it was mostly bone and we didn't get much meat. We also felt it was a little overpriced for what we received. Since we're not familiar with Jamaican food, we can't really say whether it was good or bad overall. It just wasn't quite what we expected.
