We chanced upon this jem on the walk back to our Airbnb. Reserved a table for two with the owner the day before our last night and made our way there.
Overall ambience of the place is cosy but nice.
Only one other table on a Friday night which made us a little worried but our fears were misplaced.
Entree: lamb cutlets tandoori
The starter was fabulous, loved how well-marinated the lamb cutlets were, and they had a nice fat to them. They sat on a bed of fresh salad which we also devoured. Finger licking good!
Main: beef vindaloo
This had a good heat to it, and came with some potatoes. Only complaint is that the beef could be more tender, but overall still a good dish.
We had a complimentary platter of mint sauce and cucumber raita which were lovely!
Carb: garlic naan
Wow, these were a revelation. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they were a delectable way to sop up the glorious curry and sauces.
I salute the owner's dedication to his craft and passion for what he does, as it must not be easy to maintain a place with not many customers. I hear he mixes his own spices, and saw the tandoor oven in the kitchen!
This place definitely deserves more attention and customers. If you're in the area, do give this a try! read more
