Also they have redecorated in a way that although looking very good, having removed all the carpets and any kind of material to soak up the sound and as such when it is full it's very hard to hear and can be very echoey especially as the music is played to loud. Having said all this it was near the start of the new holiday season (this past summer) and it was a new management team and they were very apolegetic and had a good attitude giving us a drink on the house so hopefully by now they'll have all the teething problems sorted out.

More 'old fashioned' than the modern kind of brasserie / trendy Indian, but absolutely nothing wrong with that. I grew up in south and east London, and ate plenty of authentic Brick Lane curries during my formative years. 'Maya' isn't as grassroots as those kind of hole-in-the-wall curry houses, but it does does offer a wider range of dishes than you tend to find in rural restaurants.
