Imagine waking up Sunday and seeing a mini water fountain continuously spray water all over your…read morefence and concrete, and hitting the neighbor's yard too. The sprinkler control panel did bot shut down the faulty sprinkler, so its likely a mechanical issue with the control valves in the backyard that failed open. I have no idea how to DIY this so I was lucky to find Ostwald. Yep, they are a 24/7 company and were able to comr out same day in a few hours. Darvin and his helper replaced my entire sprinkler control valve system, faulty sprinkler heads, and did some excavation to fix some leaky pipes. About 3 hours total - not a straightforward job since it also involved wiring and some backyard plumbing. I have an older house so they actually had to shutoff water to the house for a few hours. Not sure why the sprinkler system does not have a separate isolation valve. Maybe it does but its not obvious. Definitely recommend Ostwald Sprinkler Repair for quick turnarounds and responsive service, even on Sundays when most other sprinkler repair companies are closed.

We were very pleased with the turn around as well as the price that we were quoted. His communication throughout the process was great and we felt like we were in good hands. We would be happy to work with him again for any irrigation work for our home.

I was contacted to a second meeting to verify some things that were not clear from my diagram. The second meeting, the rep was about 30 minutes, late it seemed because of a mix up in scheduling. He apologized for it, and we went on about the walk-through. He had good solutions for my problems that were consistent with what other contractors had already told me. We ultimately decided with another contractor because of a difference in price of about 2-5%. If you have a landscape or irrigation project or issue, I would recommend meeting with them.

They were always booked - which is a good sign - but that meant it was challenging to get them on the schedule. But when available, they did great work at reasonable rates. Eventually, the company was sold and the new owner changed the business model a bit. The initial bids were the same - basically truck roll fee + labor with materials to be billed after job completion. The big difference was they no longer provided itemized material costing and the materials markup was much higher than other irrigation vendors we've used. In addition, this change was not noticed before the job was completed and they refused to itemize despite multiple requests. Again, they've always done great work for us and if not concerned with paying a significant markup for materials, then possibly a good fit for you.

I am so done with gardeners who think they can charge me an arm and a leg and they barely know how to add an emitter. Trevor is the guy. I'll be calling Trevor annually to do an annual physical and hopefully no more trampled emitters from tree trimmer or my dog.

My husband suspected that our sprinklers stopped working. I thought... "Oh no! Not another problem…read morewith this house!" My strategy was to avoid the problem, but he tested it and, sure enough, no sprinkling :( I contacted several local companies and these were the quotes I obtained: - Company 1: $2900 to replace all 10 valves. This might not fix everything and then we might need to replace the electrical components ($1500 additional) - Company 2: $1500 for a new controller and installation, but only recommend 1 type (with a cumbersome looking app) - Latham: $200 (2-hour minimum site visit) to install new controller and can use any extra time to address other issues. We were able to research controllers and bought one we liked (~$200) that had great reviews and an amazing app. Trevor was reliable, showing up on time for the quote and later for the work. After I initially left a voicemail, he responded within 2 business days, then we corresponded by text. Clear communication by text (though sometimes there is a 1-2 day delay). He is usually booked 2 weeks in advance, but worth the wait! On the day of the installation, Trevor was even able to stay an extra hour and fixed a zone that never worked for us AND he replaced some sprinkler heads that were old and not working well. He even let my husband tag along to learn. So total he charged us $325 ($100 for the extra hour, $25 for sprinkler heads). My husband was so happy that he rounded it up to $400! Trevor really saved our butt on this stressor. I thought earlier with the first astronomical quote that we would just have to live with a dead yard. He is our sprinkler guy now and we highly recommend him!
