I was already in contract with another landscape architecture firm at the time that I met Manny, and I was interested in having him do subcomponents of the work. Manny was able to work with the original contractors' plans, upload them to CAD, and fine-tune the installation. His ability to make on-the-spot design changes was helpful. His crew was professional, hard -working, and always showed up on time. Manny did a solid job of providing estimates and sticking to them. Manny is smart and has excellent people skills both with the client (me!) and in the way he interacts with his crew. I feel that Manny provides an excellent value for the services he provides. He brings the professionalism of a large firm without the overhead. I have asked him to return to conduct additional work, and I have recommended him to my friends. One other note: the primary landscaper on my project was territorial and at times spoke rudely and unprofessionally to Manny and his crew. I thought Manny handled this tension with kindness and was able to successfully diffuse the hostility. I appreciated his ability to work under sometimes-stressful conditions.

For the past two years I was watering my lawn all the time, sometimes twice a day during Summer and whenever we vacationed or left home for a week I was always worried about the lawn dying and all the effort it would take to regrow. It started to become a chore rather than something enjoyable. We finally decided to get a Sprinkler System installed and so glad we found Jon. Communication was great right away with super fast replies on Yelp and I believe Jon even came the next day for an estimate. He finished the sprinkler system in less than a week which is what he quoted with excellent attention to detail and a very honest price. The complexity was we were doing concrete work at the time so there were two contractors at our house at the same time. He set me up with a 3 zone system, the front area is exposed to a lot of sun and I always struggled with keeping things growing there. The cool thing is the Rachio system he installed automatically chooses ideal times to water based on daily weather reports. You can see the "after" pictures which show my lawn is still nice and green despite the heat and now I get to water for pleasure instead of doing it as a task! I enjoyed bantering with Jon as well, he is a very knowledgeable guy and also very easygoing and chill to talk to.

He didn't charge me for his time, but did give me a quote to install a professional system as well as expand coverage to the entire back yard. His quote was reasonable / competitive, and I was lucky to get quickly scheduled. He and his crew came out and in a couple days were able to install a brand new Hunter system with sprayers and multiple drip lines. Despite having to trench through my yard, when they were done it looked as good as new. They took special care around existing landscaping and did not damage anything during the installation process. It's been a few months now, and the system is working great. Grass is green and plants are blooming. Sherman is easy to work with and super responsive. I'm extremely happy with the outcome and I'm sure you will be too.

Within 15 minutes he was able to solve our main issues: a front sprinkler that was blasting the driveway for no reason, and plants dying because the zones were only running one minute, twice a week. He turned off the driveway head, reprogrammed every zone to fifteen minutes four days a week, and flagged a sprinkler head sitting right at the trunk of our acacia that needed moving. He also taught me how to use the system, which I didn't buy or install originally. Really appreciate his help and will contact again for all my system needs and questions. Incredible value for the services rendered.

Gilbert scheduled a time to come take a look at the project and was punctual for our scheduled appointment. After looking at the project with Gilbert, and explaining to him what I was looking to have done, it was clear to me that Gilbert understood and that he was very knowledgeable about irrigation systems. Normally I would not hire a contractor with less than 25 Yelp reviews. (My wife was not happy that I was even considering hiring a contractor with only a handful of Yelp reviews!) However, having a construction background myself, after speaking with Gilbert, I had a very good feeling about his abilities. On my intuition and general feeling that Gilbert understood and would provide a quality job, I hired Valley Vista Landscaping for my project. Gilbert was very responsive and communicative throughout the project. Gilbert was calm, patient and made me feel like he really cared about the quality of the job that he was doing and the project as a whole. In fact, Gilbert went above and beyond - without being asked to do so he added two additional sprinkler heads to water a section of the lawn that was not being covered by my existing watering system - he did not ask for any additional payment! Gilbert saw an issue with my system and just fixed it! Gilbert and his crew exceeded my expectations for this job and the price was very fair. I have posted several Yelp reviews over the past many years. This review for Gilbert at Valley Vista Landscaping is one that is well deserved. I would happily hire Gilbert again and highly recommend Valley Vista Landscaping without any reservations!

They were always booked - which is a good sign - but that meant it was challenging to get them on the schedule. But when available, they did great work at reasonable rates. Eventually, the company was sold and the new owner changed the business model a bit. The initial bids were the same - basically truck roll fee + labor with materials to be billed after job completion. The big difference was they no longer provided itemized material costing and the materials markup was much higher than other irrigation vendors we've used. In addition, this change was not noticed before the job was completed and they refused to itemize despite multiple requests. Again, they've always done great work for us and if not concerned with paying a significant markup for materials, then possibly a good fit for you.
