Spencer took down a large oak tree in our front yard and also removed trees on my neighbors front yards. He showed up on time, had all the proper equipment, safely took down all three trees, removed the stumps, planted the replacement trees and cleaned up the area perfectly. We had a 60+ plus foot oak tree directly across from the front door that started dropping large branches and looked dead at the top. Two dead trees in the back that I couldn't take myself without hitting the fence and several other smaller trees I previously fell and moved branches and stumps up to the driveway that they chipped up for us. Their ability to bring down a large tree in a tight space is impressive. I would have never been able to do that myself. Pricing is very competitive. Great service. Showed up when they said they would. Took down 6 trees in my front yard and removed them. Took down 4 more in my back yard. The most difficult task was to cut a 8 foot section of a fallen tree (about 3 feet in diameter) that was laying across the creek that runs on my property and to trim the huge root ball. It definitely took all 6 men to do this work. They completed all in the work in about 2 hours. I would definitely hire them again. read more

Dealing with a major cleanup after a tornado is stressful, Spence's went above and beyond to make sure my property was in better condition than it was prior to the devastating storm. We received multiple estimates for the job, but it was Spence's(Matt and Oscar) professionalism and value that truly set them apart. Their response was fast and thorough. Estimates and billing services are handled via text message/email, which made communication easy. We needed one tree taken out immediately and they did it the same day. They came out and inspected my property for trees that we should focus on. They gave me a fair price for what we needed to have done. Their crew arrived right in time. They took great care when they downed the large trees so as not to damage our house, grounds or the neighbors property. It was fascinating to watch them work. They are fearless. I received 4 bids for tree trimming of eight different trees. Spence was 15% higher than lowest bid and 30% lower than highest bid. That said, I've had enough tree trimming done previously to know highest bid was way overpriced. High bidder claimed he was giving me a $300 discount because business was slow.... I've heard that line before. I felt like the lower bidder would have nickel and dimed me if our understanding of limbs to be cut differed...i.e., "oh, if that limb was suppose to be cut then that will be extra." If you are taking down a whole tree, it is quite clear what's to be done, but limb trimming is more "vague" sometimes since all limbs cannot be marked. I did not feel that there would not be any issues in those regards with Spence so that's the main reason I decided to use their company. I was quite satisfied with the work. There were two tree climbers on site. Did the job, cared for property extremely well, cleaned up thoroughly. And communicated well while on the job so as to insure correct limbs were being cut. I had this company cut down 3 large trees that were close to our home. They climbed the trees and every cut was lowered by rope to avoid damaging any other bushes or trees. They cleaned up all the debris including sawdust. Amazingly they didn't want any money until job was complete. I even received a copy of insurance prior to work starting.
