Spence's Bazaar is a little bit of everything. They have a Amish market, Flea market, people having garage sales, Antiques, Furniture, Vinyl Records, and more. The food is the real star. Amish Pretzels and Baked Goods are a must have when going here. Bring cash as most places dont take cards. The BBQ is good and the sandwiches are filling and tasty. This place is fast paced so you can grab and go or browse through the many stands. The flea market is best on Saturdays before 12 pm and during warmer months. read more

Spence's was the first stop on my Dover day- trip itinerary. I didn't have high hopes considering some of the reviews I had read but I enjoyed Spence's. I ended up buying some accessory items, such as, sporty bags, (that I would have otherwise ordered via amazon prime) and I got a great price. I also bought some frivolous items like earrings and a headband at a good price. The food section is well stocked for meateaters and those with a sweet tooth. I ended up buying some cheese spreads (I have yet to taste them) sweet cream and cajun crab. It's a good place to visit while in Dover. read more

This place is a hidden gem of Dover Delaware. It has limited hours and only open certain days of the week. The flea market on the outside is dirty. I personally only go for the food. The Amish market inside is old but don't let that stop you. The bakery is amazing and you see them making it fresh in front of you. The butcher shop past that makes every mans heart skip a beat. And finally their sandwich line is outstanding. Pulled pork sandwich, pork loin sandwich, breakfast sandwich; honestly you can't get anything from there that will be bad. Only thing I'd advise staying away from is the stuffed pretzels. I've seen them have undercooked egg or meat inside. Highly recommend getting breakfast or lunch to go from here. read more

I've been in Dover for over a year & just went to Spence's for the first time. Had a pepperoni & cheese pretzel; it was really good & well priced. Got some cream cheese & walnut cookies too; delicious as well. It gets a little stuffy inside the market on a crowded, hot day...air conditioning is the only thing that would give it an extra star. read more

Some merchants can take credit cards and others can't. Tables are open to the public for rent so obviously those are the ones who can't take cards. You will find the usual farmer market types of things here. Be ready to negotiate especially for items that have no marked price. I go there for the Farmer's Market and the Food! Amazing! Today I stopped at the Candy Stand and bought chocolate covered bacon. Wow! I'm tempted to go back before they close tonight. I really enjoy coming here! First and most importantly, the food! The wide selection of food is amazing, and the fact that it's all delicious is even better. I have such a hard time when I go in, I want to try new things, but the things I have already had are so good, that I just want to keep eating them! I love walking through the flea market and looking at all of the antiques, it's a really great way to pass the day away! You can find some really great deals on lightly used furniture, I recently purchased a mirror that looked like it had never been used, and was still on its company's website - To say that I paid a fraction of the retail price would be an understatement! read more

Great flea market! You can literally find anything you are looking for. I once purchased a (real wood!) 8 drawer set with mirror for just $75. I've been sold ever since! The ice cream is probably my favorite as far as the Amish food goes. The smoked meats are tasty, but too salty for regular consumption. read more

Been going here since childhood and I love it. One of the gems and landmarks of Dover and possibly Delaware. The tables are rotting but it just makes it more rustic. Love the Amish people, the sellers, the stuff, all of it. Great flea market. Good deals. :) read more

A local tradition where you can get Amish made food. There is a hot deli counter, ice cream stand, and pizza shop in the food area. I highly recommend the stuffed pretzels with nacho cheese dipping sauce. The steak and peppers stuffing is amazing. The dining area is kind of dingy though with flies and a lot of interesting people. Went there yesterday. It was fun walking through all of the stalls. Loved one vegetable stand vendor. She suggested recipes for Chinese okra and other odd looking veggies. Bought some to try. Liked the inside too. Bought deli ham and pepperoni from one of the inside vendors. Then I was hungry and bought a beef hotdog with cheese surrounded by soft pretzel dough. Delicious! The Hot dogs pretzels and regular pretzels with cheese, the ribs, the pork and cheese with sweet mustard or even the mini donuts all are classics!!! Heck the sodas are the coldest around! I've lived in Delaware for 20 years now in every part of this state. I've been to the New Castle Farmer's Market several times, and to the one in Sussex County. One thing that stands out about Spence's Bizzaro-World is how incredibly hostile and unfriendly the people are that work and shop there. So, if you go there and you're lower middle class or higher, don't dress like it. To me that's what seemed to set most people off. Yet, we are most likely going to be the ones who will buy their wares. You may find a bargain or two there but most stuff is absolute crap. Clothing smells like cigarettes, tools are too rusty or have broken or missing parts, and electronics are either extremely outdated or just don't work. Yet, most everyone is selling this stuff that should be thrown away, or just priced way too high. Buyer beware to be sure. read more

Spence's is open on Saturdays too. The person who wrote about the rusted tools may not want them but some people actually do. They offer a lot more: Best prices around for bedding plants, perennials and other flowers and a nice variety. Local produce. Book vendors with excellent offerings. Those things are what I buy the most but they offer something for most people. At the flea market you can find excellent prices on books, neat items as at any flea market. Their famous sandwiches are super fresh w/generous amounts of meat. Haven't had anything like it elsewhere. The chocolate shop has a great variety. You have to go just for the experience. But you'll most likely return. read more
