What a cute little school! I love it!
Educating Students since 1876, yes, that's right--1876, this one-school district Elementary School is nestled in Wynola Valley at the foot of Volcan Mountain. Just 4 miles from the historic town of Julian, this colorful school is visible from the busy Hwy and looks totally "old school."
According to notfadeaway1.blogspot, "Spencer Valley School District is one of the last remaining one-school districts in San Diego County. The present one-room schoolhouse was built in 1905, replacing an earlier structure. Additional buildings in a complimentary style were added in 1987 providing modern facilities." That's so cool that the new additions kept the same look as the original.
Get this: Spencer Valley School is a public elementary school with a student population of 30-35 children, in grades K through 8th grade. Any school with such a low amount of students is bound to get lots of individualized instruction from the teachers and / or teacher. I can't help but be charmed by this lovely school. 4 YELP STARS. read more
