She asked me for my sons birthdate and teachers name, I gave her the information and she asked for specific reason why my son was absent. I said he isn't not feeling well. She said" YEAH BUT I NEED TO KNOW THE REASON! Again I said he Isn't not feeling well, then she says "OK BYE! And slams the phone on me. I go to the school and ask to speak to the Principal and Silvia says Why? I said I just called trying to excuse my son's absence and someone just slammed the phone on me, was it you? She says yeah! The principal Is busy right now you have to leave a message. I asked when will he be free she said "I don't know you have to leave a message. So I asked he for her name she wrote it down on a piece of paper and I walked away. And here we are. I get home only to be told that the school teacher called asking why Andrew was absent. So she never even took me seriously. Very disrespectful. The power trip and way of dealing with parents coming out of this lady is wrong and sad.

The presentation Sister Eva, principle, gave us was what we felt was best for our children. The history of the school, the academic accomplishments, the daily presence of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, and being the only school in the South Bay with nuns as teachers were huge pluses we felt were best to help carry our Catholic beliefs we teach at home. Today we have our oldest (6th grade), our Son (4th grade), and our youngest daughter (3rd grade) all at OLMC.

Synthetic turf with the team logo proudly on display is ready for the school to become a local powerhouse or at least look good when or if that day comes. Clean with well kept grounds and modern construction. It was a Saturday, so it was unclear if the minimal wear and tear was from lack of use. Not a whole lot of residential units close by though. In all likelihood the school was built in anticipation of the population spike with the fervent development of the South Bay. I'm sure the Sweetwater Union didn't plan for the housing industry to hit a brick wall, but as as local taxpayer, of course, I'm thrilled to provide funding. Whether it's used or not. Go Cougars!

My son has struggled his entire life in public schools…read more We even tried helping him with an IEP and still the experience was horrible, stressful and felt like we were just a number. After many years of considering a more independent study, we made the decision to enroll my son in Altus. His demeanor, his work ethic, confidence, and overall attitude changed drastically. I wish we would've made the change sooner by glad he will finish off high school here. The staff is so friendly and helpful they make my son and parents feel welcomed.
