I've been here a few times for sporting events, and I haven't been disappointed. Parking is sometimes tight, but that's normal for a school campus. The facilities (for athletes and spectators) are surprisingly nicer than I was expecting. The track is in good condition. The stadium lights had minimal burned out bulbs. I'm in my freshman year. Not sure if it improves as you get older and begin new years, but personally, HATE it. If you are neurodivergent, this is not the place for you. I am in math L/1A1 which is for students who struggle with the subject. I have a disorder that makes the numbers on the pages fly around and equations don't make any sense to me. Math is incredibly hard for me to even begin working on. I also have an IEP. My teacher has provided me none of the accommodations I legally am required to have, so I failed my first trimester of math and am currently failing my second. In middle school, I was given all my accommodations in math and ended the year with a B, which is incredible for me. Both my parents have called the teacher herself, and the school, multiple times. No response or a "we'll get back to you blabab", and nothing ever happens. I have expressed my feelings to my counselor and case manager, nothing is being done. I do not enjoy being a student here. You are promised many things-accommodations, available resources, trustworthy teachers ect. I dont have much to say about the students, they are as you would expect teenagers to be. But I hear white students say the N word, I've heard a group of boys openly mock an Indian girl (copying her accent and twisting up their faces), ect. I have never seen a teacher call out a student before. I had a boy call me a pussy for speaking quietly, the teacher heard, said nothing. No accountability in this school. There's also a huge issue with vaping, but nothing is done. Maybe that is just every school though. If you are a straight A student who doesn't have any mental issues, you will probably thrive here. (Forgot to mention, but there is an autistic boy in my math class who is frequently mocked by the other students and the teacher bullies him on a regular basis. She treats him like he is a idiotic liability, and also refuses to give him the help he needs). If you have more than two questions a day in class, prepare to be cut off or yelled at. :) read more

As a single mother, minority, and 100% disabled U.S. Army veteran, I feel compelled to share my deeply painful experience with Poway High School in Poway, San Diego CA. In March 2024, I traveled to Poway to pick up my son after his father--who only had summer visitation rights--refused to return him to me. Despite having full physical custody and legal documents supporting my authority, including tie-breaking decision-making rights, the school refused to release my son to me. I met with Principal Nash Richard and presented the divorce decree, but he denied my legal standing and insisted I did not have tie-breaking authority. While I waited in the school lobby, he contacted the vice principal and arranged for my son to be picked up by his father--without my consent--and later called the police to have me removed from the premises. Additionally, the registrar, Michelle Bourget, enrolled my son in the school without my knowledge or permission, despite my legal custody and multiple attempts to provide documentation. They even changed my son's legal name in the school records without a court order or my consent. This experience has left me devastated. I have not been able to see my son for over a year and have lost custody due to legal manipulation and a lack of enforcement of my custodial rights. I believe this school failed to uphold legal standards, showed disregard for court orders, and did not treat me equitably. At this time, I have lost physical custody of my son, and he is now being required to re-enroll at Poway High School. As a result, I am forced to continue facing discriminatory behavior from school personnel who have contributed to this outcome. Therefore, I have decided to file a civil complaint against Principal Nash Richard and Registrar Michelle Bourget for their roles in these events. As a 100% disabled U.S. Army veteran and single Chinese mother who raised her son for 14 years, I find it heartbreaking that his father--who had minimal involvement (83 days) in his life until he turned 13--was able to gain custody by using legal manipulation and what I believe was biased support from school officials. If you are in a similar situation--especially as a minority parent or military veteran--I strongly advise you not to enroll your child in this school. Please learn from my experience. Poway High School baseball fields This review is strictly for baseball facilities, The Titans home ground, called Varsity baseball field. Flawless, green and kush baseball fields, with well maintained outfield. They have one big baseball field, batting cages, pitching mounds and practice ground. Baseball field features well maintained infield and outfield ideal for baseball practices or games. The outfield grass is available for other field sports as well. SD crush travel ball team have their practice sessions here. They welcome outside people to rent this field too. WARNING: Exiting this park to Espola is extremely dangerous, because of the high speed drivers coming on Espola road and people merging to Espola needs to be extra cautious. Went here for a year until I went into another program. Overall it was an okay environment. There are TONS of students though and it's easy to get lost around campus, and hard to make friends because people are definitely in their defined clicks. But most schools are probably like this. read more

I went here many years ago & it was school, just like school is. I hate seeing all these comments that it's awesome if you are white & calling all the white ppl there racists. Those ppl writing this are the racists bcuz that is nothing more than a racist comment. When I was there, there was a black boy who wasn't good enough to make the team. He literally SUCKED at basketball!!! So, he didn't make the team. He was a freshman at the time. His famous dad complained, bought the basketball teams x2 pairs of new basketball shoes each, & the freshman was on the varsity team the next day, AS A FRESHMAN!!! So, leave race out of it!!! It has nothing to do with race against non-white ppl!!! Also, a ton of kids there wrote on their shirts "black pride" & "brown pride," & never got into trouble, but 1 kid wrote "white pride," & was suspended!!! So please tell me how it's the white ppl there being racist. Right, u can't. Btw, all systems are corrupt, you just have to choose which one you are willing to go to. read more

This school used to be one of the best schools but with the time it changed.The school is crowded and classes are too. You should go to the girl's locker room, it was soo old and dirty plus some of the barthrooms. Also, the big lockers for students are so small, computers in the library are old and there aren't enough facilities for the students. Some teachers are good but I would say, they are not caring like the teachers in other schools. Counselors can't care that much about students since their are lot of students in the school. I don't know why people say this school is great but there are good schools other than this in San Diego. The problem is this school is soo crowded, old, and have less opportunities for the students. Either, Poway school district have to build another high school since this school has way too much students. Somehow, one thing I like about the school is the digital media program and it was good. If u really care about your student and if he or she is target oriented, don't put him here, go to a different school cuz there are school that provide a lot of opportunities for students but they just don't know to use them. However, if u care about the school name, then put him or her to this school. read more
