His broad scope of expertise, humanity, tact, and sense of humor have made a lasting positive impact on my life. Like most of his other patients, I can say without hesitation that I consider him and Peggy to be a part of my extended family. I will never forget receiving an unprompted call from Dr. H late in the evening many years ago after they learned of a sudden health crisis that my parent suffered. Thankfully, my parent's crisis eventually resolved; but that brief check-in from Dr. H touched me deeply. I knew that I was not alone and that he genuinely cared. Unheard of in modern medicine, when you call their office after-hours and connect with the emergency line, the phone rings at Dr. H's house. They trust their patients not to abuse that access; but the small number of times that my family needed it, Peggy and Dr. H were on the other end of the line, providing useful information and reassurance, even at 4AM. My experience as a patient of Dr. H's played no small role in my own journey towards becoming a physician. I often find myself trying to recall one of his totally unique and pithy one-liner jokes when I need to break the ice with a new patient. Family practices like this one are virtually impossible to find these days. The world would be a much better place if everyone had a medical team like Dr. Horowitz and Peggy.

With covid and how things are run differently now, communication is KEY! Peggy sent me all the health forms that needed to be completed in a timely manner via email. She was wonderful at responding to my emails, and she made things so easy! They went out of their way to see me in person in a really short notice as my visit required necessary clearance for my nursing program. They only have certain days for appointments but she made an exception for me as my work schedule conflicted with their in-person office visits. Peggy also sent me my labs on a Saturday as I requested if she could send it to me as soon as they receive it.. they are closed on Saturdays and she did that for me (I am so grateful!). I also want to say that I drove from Monterey Park to Dr. Horowitz's office on a Friday during the time that there is so much traffic (traffic alone in this area if you already know is hideous) but I would do it again! Thank you so much Peggy and Dr. Horowitz!!

He's very kind n has a good memory even sense of humor. He referred my mom to several other doctors that were great as well. He's very cautious. The receptionist is sweet she speaks several southeast language thai, vietnamese, cambodian and I think some Chinese. I think she still works there. His wife runs the front office in the back. Not the sweetest, stand offish she doesn't interact with patients. I'm sure the complaints about the receptionist are about her. Not the real receptionist. Anyways my mom saw his son when he started his career. He seems smart. Im not sure its been awhile. I do know from experience Dr Yen senior is fantastic. The office is old n run down. But after u see the doctor it doesn't matter. Thank you Dr. Yen. I hope you are still practicing for the low income ( no insurance ) people n wish you happiness. I already referred my cousin to you. Thank you for your service and helping so many that need help and thank you for not making $$$ be the primary purpose you see patients.

If I could give ZERO stars, I absolutely would! BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!…read more This office is completely unprofessional and disorganized. I first called months ago to schedule an appointment and was given such a hard time that I eventually gave up out of frustration. Later, my daughter tried calling on my behalf and experienced the exact same thing , she even warned me, saying "Mom, she has terrible reviews." Unfortunately, those reviews were 100% accurate. Recently, I was diagnosed with pneumonia and was advised to contact my primary doctor. When I called again, the first woman who answered didn't understand me and immediately transferred me. For the record, they don't even answer the phone professionally! The second woman picked up and said, "What do you need?" no greeting, nothing. I told her I needed an appointment, and she asked if I was a new patient. After I explained my pneumonia situation, she said, "Oh yes, okay," and then told me, "Call me tomorrow, maybe I can fit you in." Maybe? Are you serious? That level of dismissiveness, lack of compassion, and unprofessionalism is unbelievable. This office clearly doesn't care about patients or proper service. Absolutely unacceptable experience from start to finish! I will definitely be changing doctors!

BEST DOCTOR EVER! Attention all women!…read more Are you tired of being gaslit and told to "drink water and loose weight"? Same... Dr.K is phenomenal. She takes the time to listen and talk with you. You can tell she is still passionate about helping people. She is kind and caring and never makes me feel like I'm being too much. She problem solves with me to make sure I am happy and healthy. I spent YEARS trying to find a doctor that would take time to problem solve with me. As a woman in my late 30's my body is changing and she has been wonderful. Requesting full panels and referrals to anyone that is needed. She never makes me feel like I am being dramatic or too much. Kind Smart Wonderful 10/10

A non…read moreprofit connected me to Southern California Men's Medical Group which is where he was working at the time. Fast forward 12 years I ended up needing to see him as he is one of the few in the area who specialize in HRA. Our visit started with him telling me that he has good news for me and that I don't need an HRA procedure because of my age, even though I had an abnormal cytology. It was painfully obvious he hadn't taken time to review my chart or grab information as to why I was there. No usual questions for a history of present illness. He didn't know that I had a history of colon polyps and one that had been precancerous. I had to tell him all of this. While I was incorrect in associating HPV with sigmoid colon lesions, it doesn't negate why I had chosen to come to the clinic. My chief complaint was trying to RULE OUT neoplasia as a cause of anal bleeding. He then said his differential diagnosis for my anal bleeding was likely hemorrhoids. That's a pretty easy differential to rule out if he actually looked and did a physical exam. He didn't do anything besides talk to me the entire time. I'm super disappointed with my experience the other day and I hope this was a one off and not his usual way of handling a patient.

I was the 6th person properly waiting in line at 8:30AM during the one and only time that I came to this clinic. I couldn't see the doctor until 4 excruciatingly long hours later at 12:30PM, which was seriously unbelievable. Word on the street is that the terribly long wait is due to other patients sneaking in through some back door and bribing the nurses. Some of my family members have seen Dr. Quon over the years and endured the 3-4 hour wait each and every time... I don't know how they dealt with the wait because one could get quicker medical attention at the ER than at this clinic. It's important to note that (1) Dr. Quon does not do hospital/nursing home visits. When both my grandparents were at the hospital and nursing homes (on separate occasions), Dr. Quon was nowhere to be seen and found. So much for reliability in times of emergencies and for caring about your patients, right? This is something to think about in the long run if you have elderly family members seeing him. In addition, another important note is that (2) Dr. Quon will likely prescribe medications that may not be right for the patient and will likely brush off a patient's complaint of discomfort. For years, he prescribed an extremely high dosage of medications and other unnecessary things for my grandma. We unfortunately never questioned it until she was hospitalized. He seemingly takes the easy way out by prescribing tons of drugs instead of providing proper medical attention, such as asking the right questions and sending his patients out to specialists. Perhaps my grandma could've been in a much better state had he been more proactive early on and listened to her needs. Instead, he dismissed her weakness and said that she was just "unhappy". Like... WTF? What do you really know...? You're not a psychologist and you have no right to call her that. If you want a great family doctor for your parents/grandparents/etc, please do some solid research for them before they blindly go in as a patient. You will be surprised (I certainly was..) about what's written online about this guy. It's obvious that I will not recommend him to anyone.
