Review of Salem Voodoo Vampires and Ghosts Walking Tour - The tour guides are great, don't get me wrong, I have nothing bad to say about them, but these companies totally take advantage of you with the tours that they offer. Especially the way they advertise them, they are soooo misleading. This was my first time visiting Salem and I had relied a great deal on the reviews that were given when I was looking to book things to do during my stay and I am really disappointed how nobody spoke the truth. So I am going to speak the truth for any future visitor looking for honest feedback. You don't SEE anything at all on this "tour", all you do is LISTEN and walk in a group for an hour and a half. The tour guide will point our where things "used" to be, but now they are something else, so you essentially see a modern structure in place of something that stood 300 years ago. You view a cemetery from behind a fence, and can't see anything because it is dark. You are not allowed into the cemetery, another misleading activity that the company wants you to think that you are doing while on this "tour". There is nothing scary on this tour and there are certainly no ghosts, it is simply a history lesson for an hour and a half walking around in the dark looking at where things "used" to be. I suggest you sightsee on your own, you would see more. Please do not fall prey to the words "Voodoo, Vampires and Ghosts", the only thing accurate in the title of this tour are the words "Walking". I can't even call it an actual "Tour". A tour is where you would actually view something. read more

My Husband and I went to Salem this weekend and we decided to do a ghost tour on Saturday night. Everyone we talked to that worked in the area said that Spellbound tours was great. We went on the 10pm tour and although it was freezing out we had a very enjoyable time. To our disappointment nothing spooky occured but we loved all of the ghost stories our guide told us. He was very informative and we learned so much history of the town that we didn't learn at any other museum earlier that day. We visited the site where the witches were held in the dungeon and also the cemetary where Giles Corey was pressed to death. The guide was able to give us more of the dark history of some of the sites which was very cool while also explaining how paranormal investigation is conducted. Even though we didn't get to see anything ourselves, we did get to see some very cool photos that his investigation team has taken with orbs, ectoplasm, and full manifistations. Very cool. read more

Our guide was amazing!!! He was captivating, entertaining, and was able to incorporate historical facts and a bit of intrigue that made this tour one of my favorites yet. Walking through Salem on a warm summer night is a must if you enjoy the city during the day. Once all the major tourists and groups have gone for the day you get to see this lovely city in its natural state. Taking a tour with Spellbound will definitely enhance that experience and you may even find a little café or bistro along the walk where you can grab a bite or cocktail afterwards. read more

This is a great way to spend a few hours while you are visiting Salem. Interesting to hear about how he is part of a team that also participates in Ghost Investigations professionally. This is the best Ghost Tour I've ever been on! Dr Vitka was incredible from start to finish, with extremely engaging storytelling & a great ability to set a spooky tone/atmosphere throughout. He mentions that his company has taken the time to do their own extensive research & makes sure that the stories they tell are the most accurate & true to fact in Salem. This made the tour even more enjoyable, as I was happy to learn the real history of Salem as well as compelling ghost stories of the area. I can't recommend this tour enough! read more

We only had a few hours in Salem, and I had my dog with me, so this tour was the perfect way to see Salem. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the town's history, and his background as a paranormal investigator made me feel that I was not getting a "show", I felt like I was hanging out with a local. I'm pretty sure my dog had a great time too. I would do it again if I find myself back in Salem. read more

This tour blew my expectations out of the water! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. I didn't expect to learn as much as I did. I did the night tour and it was pretty spooky! I was intrigued the entire time. The tour didn't feel rushed at all. The best part is this organization is locally owned (not a big company.) Don't waste your money on any other tour and support local !! read more

We really enjoyed Dr. Vitka's tour! He did an amazing job at telling stories and really made them captivating. The tour was the perfect length, and there were plenty of stops/places to rest along the way. It was a ton of fun and we would take the tour again!
