Recently had to take our car into Boch Honda in Westford for the third recall issue on our CRV. The most recent time, they said my rear struts needed to be replaced and we needed a realignment. They were going to charge us 1500 dollars. I politely declined and brought the car to Miller Brothers Garage. They got me in quickly, drove me and my son to and from the garage, and did the work in little time. I paid 650, not 1500. The car immediately drove better. The steering was no longer stiff and the ride felt smoother. These guys are very nice, honest, and work is fairly-priced. We have found the place to get our car serviced in the future. I highly recommend you try them- stopped being ripped off by the dealership.

Since moving to West Concord, I have been exploring nearby Maynard, which I think of as "the town…read morethat time forgot". With its old mill buildings and depressed-but-still-trying downtown shopping area, little Maynard was once on the brink of wild prosperity during the 1980s when computer manufacturer Digital Equipment Corporation was pouring jobs and cash into the area like a high-tech fire hose. But sales of the company's profitable mainframes dwindled after it failed to successfully transition to personal computers, and it quietly expired in the late 1990s. You won't find them on Twitter or Facebook: Shorette's is a small garage right out of the 1960s, with prices to match. The dimly-lit "customer waiting area" is crammed with dust-covered displays of fan belts, replacement gas caps, and carburetor gasket kits. The owner/operator and his elderly father have run the place for ages, and there is an archetypal "back room" behind the counter where they hang out and play cards or do whatever old time garage guys do. I paid what I consider pre-War prices for a brake job, and business was brisk when I stopped by. Apparently word has gotten around that you can still get this kind of "No BS - done right the first time" service if you're willing to go out to Maynard for it.

I absolutely love this place and recommend it to everyone who has a beetle. I have a 2000…read moreVolkswagen Beetle. Very few places will work on my car. I was taking my car to East Main Auto because they were close and worked on my car. They had no idea what they were doing and since I am a young girl who knows absolutely nothing about cars they kept replacing parts that didn't need to be replaced just because they were expensive. I paid 1500$+ there and they did not fix anything. The final time I went there they charged me 1000$+ and told me that they can't fix my car. Well, since they didn't fix anything that I needed my car broke one day. My transmission wouldn't change gears and was literally a bomb that was just building pressure and heat. I could only go 25 MPH! I heard about beetle bug from one of my friends and called him up and he took my car. The guy was very nice and read all my lights on my dashboard and told me exactly what was wrong. It was a Friday so I couldn't get my car fixed that night because they were closed on weekends. I left it there until Monday and beetle bug fixed it! It was a mass air flow sensor that needed to be replaced. That sensor fixed my turbo too that the other place claimed to be a break booster. Beetle bug also made sure other things were fixed too so I wouldn't have another problem like that. I also had a problem the other day as well. I was driving home from school and not even 5 minutes down the road my check engine light started blinking. I was freaking out but my dad suggested to try driving it at least to my house. I started driving and 10 seconds later the check engine light started blinking again and a burning rotten egg smell started coming from my car. I had to drive to the closest gas station that would take foreign cars and they told me they won't even read my light for another hour and a half. I called beetle bug and he told me to come in and he will do it right away. He told me if it was something major he wouldn't be able to fix it right then. I drove it there and he read my lights and found out it was just a coil pack. He put it as his first priority and fixed it in less than an hour. I cannot put into words how greatful I am for this place and I hope everyone goes to him. This place is my savior

I found Beetle Bug III, specializing in VW with a single but glowing review from Jan L. On the strength of that review I took my car there for diagnosis and repair; I'm very glad I did. Tad listened to my description of the problem, asked some good questions then said that he suspected the plastic water pump impeller had broken. I asked him to check the brakes while he had the car. He called me later to confirm that was the problem. The repair was done and he called when the car was ready. When I picked up the car, he showed me the damaged impeller, he explained my brakes had about 5000 miles left on them and also pointed out that my front tires would need to be replaced soon. He concluded the transaction by stating that their work was guaranteed. Tad and his brother run an excellent shop; I highly recommend them. Tad does it again! The timing belt broke as I was driving to work on Friday morning. I called Tad and explained the problem, he was concerned that one of the systems powered by the belt might have seized to cause the failure and that it might be more than just a problem with the belt. I took my car to him after work on Friday expecting to have to leave it for a few days. When I arrived he came right out to look at the car; he took out the broken belt and checked all the pulleys, none appeared to be seized. He walked away saying he was going to see if he had a replacement belt in stock. He came back a few minutes later with a new belt in hand and some tools and proceeded to install it. A short time later he was done! It was the first time I had had my car repaired while I waited.
