Moved to California from Hawaii due to the military. We've already been without our household goods for 6 weeks living bare minimum. Have 3 small children that are all starting school here soon so all of their belongings were packed up. Speedwell accepted our shipment delivery and the soonest they could deliver it would be August 21st. 6 more weeks away even though our things are at Long Beach and has been for 2 weeks now waiting to be picked up. There is no sense of urgency with this company, and I am frustrated. I wish they offered an alternative method for delivery but unfortunately we are at their mercy and have to just hope something comes up sooner. Do not hire this company to move your belongings. The movers will steal your boxes. I have reached out several times to get the issue resolved. I finally was able to speak with someone by the name of Mac. Who is very disrespectful and rude. I was asked to prove that the boxes was stolen. Very bad business. read more

If you're like me, you're probably reading this because you're moving and looking for the best movers for you and your situation. You're reading as many reviews as you can hoping to make an overwhelming, worrisome situation just a little bit easier. So my situation may be different from yours, for context my fiance and I needed to drive 1500 miles from California to Texas. We needed someone to load an entire house in a 26' truck. Like most of you have or are in the process of doing I fielded many offers from different companies and I got in contact with Lee from Speedwell. He gave me an excellent offer but what sold me was how we was extremely open and honest and he didn't mind answering all the questions I had because I just like to know what the process will be. We agreed on a time and a day and the move began. Phase one: The day of the move Lee and his team consisting of Billy, Josh and Patrick arrived on time. Immediately they got to work. The one thing I liked about Lee and the movers is they were very honest and kept me and my fiance involved. They gave us suggestions and advice. They were very efficient. When they loaded the first room and secured it my fiance was amazed how little room they used for so many items. She was worried the truck wouldn't be big enough to carry all her stuff but when she saw that she smiled and I think it was then that she realized it was going to happen. The entire team worked extremely well together. Each member had their role and worked efficiently. They disassembled a lot of things and were able to occupy every nook and cranny within the truck. They arranged things in ways I never thought possible. These people have a vision and are very good at what they do. They finished well within the time frame Lee had suggested. All of the time I can't stress how much I appreciated them communicating with my fiance and I asking us questions that would benefit us. They never assumed anything. All in all they were able to fit everything from the house into the truck with room to spare. Phase two: Sure, they could pack everything in a truck, but could it withstand a 1500 mile drive? I told my fiance it's very possible some stuff breaks and to not be upset if it did. We drove the truck and because we're not professionals we may have took turns a little too fast, hit pot holes we couldn't avoid, broke too hard, you know, the things amateurs like me would do. In fact I didn't even want to check on the stuff during the drive. I feared I would open the back door and everything would fall out. Well, when we got to the new house and opened the door, nothing moved and if it did you couldn't even tell. They did a great job. I was beyond impressed. I was truly amazed. I was sure stuff would be all over the place but it wasn't, it safe and secure exactly where it was when we left. Phase three: Even though they loaded it, we still needed to be able to unload it. So if it was packed in such a way that made it hard to unload it would be more work. Well, no surprise it was easy to unload. Lee and his crew did an outstanding job. We hired movers to help us unload and they said this was one of the best loading jobs they'd seen. They were impressed how secure and organized everything was. This allowed the unloading crew to finish much faster than they anticipated. All in all Lee and his crew made a very stressful situation so much easier to bear. My fiance was feeling the stress more than me so she's extremely appreciative. The amount of professionalism, honesty, respect, integrity and work ethic each member displayed is truly admirable. It's so hard to find honest hard working people sometimes but I've at least found four more with Lee, Patrick, Billy and Josh. Thank you all. read more

We accepted bids for our move and saved 50% over other bidders by accepting the bid from Speedwell Transportation, an agent for National Van Lines Lee Paxton, Manager, was very responsive to our request and explaining all available options for our move. He coordinated every aspect of our move. He offered, and we accepted, free used boxes, packing paper, and tape for items we were packing ourselves. His crew of packers packed the items we could not pack expeditiously. The van driver arrived early at both our departure location on moving day and at our new home. The loading/unloading crew was prompt and on time at both locations delivering our items with care. I could go on and on. All of these individuals love their jobs, care about their customers and their belongings. After several successful moves during my husband's military service career, this was the absolute best. Had to move out July 31st ( yes I know this review is long over due ) and they were there for us, made us feel as if we were family, They are extremely reliable, Lee gave us an amazing estimate and was there for me whenever I needed him , calls, texts, email. When It came down to move day the guys got there at 8 am like they said they would and took very good care of our stuff while loading up (only took a couple hours for our 3 bedroom 2 bath 1 story ) and got everything in our new home without a single scratch!! Since another reviewer had success moving a heavy object from one part of his house to another, I called these guys up, since I needed basically the same thing. Over the phone, Jerry, the manager, told me he'd be able to swing by my house on his way home from work to see what we were dealing with. What I needed moved was a huge, heavy custom desk - from the first floor into a bedroom on the second floor. Jerry, who has woodworking experience, decided the best way to tackle this would be to disassemble the desk into 3 pieces, carry the pieces upstairs, and re-assemble the desk in its destination room. The desk otherwise would have been too heavy to carry up a winding staircase and too big to fit through the door to the bedroom. The plan went off without a hitch. Jerry knew exactly what he was doing, and even provided his own special tools for a rather tricky disassembly. He was exactly the man I needed, and he was super professional and friendly. And he did it all as a good samaritan. Jerry rocks! read more

When I booked my move with this wonderful company, I was already dealing with another company that was not so wonderful. That being said be very careful of the movers you pick. That being said you can't go wrong with Speedwell transportation movers. Right from the start up to and including their office staff, complete experts at what they do. A cut above the rest. The old adage you get what you pay for is 100% right. I placed a phone call to Speedwell, the very very very nice office staff girl, allow me to tell her my horror story about the past movers, bless her heart.... This help me to calm down, sweet of her. So again she immediately put me at ease booked me appointment with Lee... Lee came over the very next day and gave me a quote which was very very reasonable for all the things that I asked him and his crew to do for me. Which included not only moving a lot of items, but also taking apart and putting my sleep number bed back together and the modular base that it sits on. Not an easy task. Lee was absolutely wonderful walk through my house, I showed him everything didn't take but maybe a half an hour, at best, and he got a quote back to me the very same day. Needless to say I definitely responded and booked my move. No drama no problem no nothing. The contract was waiting for me at their office all I had to do was go in and sign it. Easy breezy. Got to meet the very nice office staff that I spoke to. Received my copy and away I went. The day before the move Lee called me on the phone just to confirm and make sure that I was good and if I needed anything else. Now that's customer service, as I said a cut above all the rest. The day of my move the two very very very nice gentleman showed up not only on time but about 10 minutes early. I like that people you can count on, that actually show up on time. They immediately went to work taking special care with everything that I pointed out to them. They move quickly, safely, and expertly. Not only that but after moving all my furniture and all my boxes and crates, there was not one mark left on any wall, My house did not have one tiny bit of damage at all, not even a scratch. And neither did my furniture or any of the items I had moved nothing broken everything perfect. When we arrived at my apartment. I got the same courtesy they moved quickly, safely and expertly again not leaving any marks at no scratches or nothing on the walls. These two guys worked hard very hard. I had an issue with my pedestal for my Sleep number bed apparently sleep number did not send me all of the parts. These two gentlemen did everything they could in their power to make me happy, Including waiting for me to make a phone call to sleep number to find out what was going on. After we found out that their was a problem, completely the fault of sleep number bed. They put my bed on the floor and helped me put it back together. That's really all we could do. We finish the move in record time and these guys really work their very hard. As a matter of fact the lead gentleman told me that when I got the rest of the parts that he'd be more than happy to come back and put it together for me just give Lee a call and I will come right out. They went one step further Lee called me the next day to make sure everything went well and I was happy and also told me when I get the rest of the parts from sleep number to give him a call he'll sell send the gentlemen back and to put it together for me. Now that's service. And that's exactly what you get with Speedwell moving, you get Customer service, whom are expert at what they do. Completely professional, respectful, honest, and hard workers, you can't ask for anything more. I highly recommend you at least get a quote and talk to Lee. You won't be sorry. Again there are a lot of places that say how good they are but talk is cheap! You have to prove what you can do, and who you are and these people definitely do that.. Again a cut above. The best movers we have ever had, hands down! We move every couple of years, and this company is by far the most professional, courteous, and hard working I have ever seen. They have moving down to an art form. From the owner to the laborers, everyone was wonderful. All of our things arrived safely and unbroken (a first for us!). They were great about working in our time frame and were flexible on dates. They expertly documented everything every step of the way and made sure everything was accounted for before they left.
