They have pellets to feed the ducks and it's a real learning experience for children also .. Going to Lititz Park makes u feel young ... I especially love how friendly everyone is ... There is a Porta Potty at the beginning of the trail in the parking lot. The trail is well maintained. The are parts where the elevation is a little steep and long. If you have lunch issues then the elevated parts may be an issue. There is one part where you have to cross the river that requires some balance and walking across stones or through the water, whichever you prefer. The trail has tree roots on it in several parts, so watch your ankles so you don't roll them. There are benches along the way to sit rest on and there are benches at the end of the trail overlooking the falls. The falls has a little pool below it that is fun for the kids who like to wade in it. There are large flat stone spaces where you can sit and observe the falls.

That was all I needed. Immediately added to the Sunday adventure list. I planned my visit for a mid-March Sunday, right after a hearty pre-St. Patrick's Day brunch (and cocktail), because if I was going to go chasing waterfalls, I might as well do it properly fueled and slightly festive. Getting there was super easy with Google Maps, and parking was plentiful all around the lake. Since it was my first visit, I parked near the clubhouse and set out to explore. Bathrooms were locked for the season, but there were portajohns available...which I respectfully chose to ignore and simply hoped for the best. It was about 50°, cloudy, and windy, but that didn't stop people from being out and about. There were families, walkers, and a surprisingly intense group of disc golfers launching discs through the air like they had something to prove. I heard multiple rounds of "HEAD'S UP!" and just accepted that at any moment I could become part of the game. Even with the number of people there, it never felt crowded. The park is big enough that you can easily find your own little peaceful corner and pretend you're out in nature alone...minus the occasional flying disc. This is definitely more of a walk than a hike, which honestly matched my post-brunch energy level perfectly. The paths are a mix of paved trails and well-worn walking routes, with plenty of options to wander depending on how far you feel like going. The lake itself was gorgeous in that moody, dramatic way that makes you feel like you're in a very calm, slightly emotional movie scene. There was someone fishing from a kayak, a few people along the shoreline, and just enough quiet to make it feel relaxing despite the wind. I came for the waterfall, though. And I heard it before I saw it. "I can hear water!" I announced (again, to no one in particular) as I followed the Waterfall Trail like I was on some sort of mission. And when I finally got there...totally worth it. The waterfall was beautiful. It might be partially man-made, but honestly, I do not care. It's water. It's falling. It's peaceful. It's a win! As I walked around, I kept thinking how perfect this place would be for a picnic once the weather warms up. There are so many great spots to throw down a blanket, snack, and pretend you're the kind of person who has their life together enough to plan outdoor picnics. Sweet Arrow Lake is easy to get to, easy to park, easy to walk, and very family-friendly. There's nothing wildly over-the-top here beyond the waterfall, but that's kind of the point. It's a solid, peaceful place to get outside, get some steps in, and enjoy a view that you don't come across every day in Central PA. And honestly? For a spontaneous "there's a waterfall 45 minutes away" adventure...I'd say that's a pretty great return on investment!

There is a lot of large equipment, but not a whole lot of variety or imagination in the different interactive functions. Reeves Park's playground (Phoenixville), Smith Memorial Playground (Fairmount Park), Freedom Playground (Haverford), and Aston Twp's new playground all have really imaginitive stuff, and just as large of an expanse (if not larger). I also have to give props to the Reeves Park and Freedom playgrounds for being fenced in (Smith is, but it's so big, the fence is not as containing as it could be). Kids Dream is not fenced, unfortunately, because it is a layer of safety I always appreciate, for young kids who run, and also just to keep out wandering dogs (the ones on a long leash whose caretakers aren't paying attention) or to dissuade sketchy people from hanging around (sorry but they're everywhere). There is a nearby walking trail, and it's also adjacent to township offices (shared parking lot). I do have to comment that there was a bit of litter generally around, which is never okay for a kids' playground. Also, this playground is pretty crowded. Parents seemed adequately considerate, but honestly, all the abovementioned playgrounds had a better vibe to me. Maybe because this place was built up by my recommendation and the reviews, but it wasn't as great as my expectations (and comparative experiences).

I was able to pay with a credit card and there was no add'l fee (i.e. no transaction fee). They also held my driver's license to ensure I'd bring the board back. The guy who gave me the board was super nice and explained everything very well. He was much appreciated! My friend and I spent the afternoon at Marsh Creek state park. She brought her own board and I rented. We each had water proof bags and took our lunch way out on the lake and ate on our boards out in the middle of the water. There were places to stop on the edge of the water but we chose to eat on our boards. We had a lovely time enjoying the scenery and chatting with eat other. When I got hot, i took a quick dip in the water to cool down. We had no issues with 'the authorities' as many other people mentioned but my friend (who has been to this park many times) did mention they are strict about parking and following the rules. Just to keep the history lesson short, it was built by York County in 2007 and it is one of a series of ten overlooks that are at different points in the county all of which give views of the Susquehanna River. susquehannariverlands.com/the-great-outdoors/scenic-overlooks/highpoint-scenic-vista-rec-area/ The set up is fairly simple. There is a small parking lot at the base of the overlook on Hilt Road. At the base there is a picnic bench and a port-a-blaster along with some literature about York County parks/area trails. From there it's up and around the trail which is a 1/2 mile loop with five way point stops that I guess are made to have you appreciate the view from different angles? At the top the view is very nice. It's literally the same as if you were over at Samuel S. Lewis State Park except that now you're two-ish miles closer to the river. The overlook from Samuel S. Lewis is higher and is visible from here and the top of the vista here is very visible from Sam Lewis. We were here around 35 minutes and the parking lot was packed but people were at different point of the incline and on other trails nearby so things never felt cramped or rushed. While I'm not necessarily sure that this place needs a return visit, I'm glad we came and I appreciate David putting this one on my/everyone's Yelp radar as it is a unique spot worth a brief stop.

I came upon it today while having a meeting in Landisville and was so impressed that I had to bring my boys after school. The itself park was donated to the Township by the late Amos Herr who was a former high school teacher and coach. His ancestors were among the earliest settlers of Landisville. The new "dream park" was almost completely financed and built by the residents of East Hempfield Township. It took them 11-days to construct the playground and it opened last year. This adorable play area includes a zip line! Here are some of the other amenities: * Soccer and baseball fields * Tennis courts * Bocci court * Basketball * Volleyball courts * Restrooms * Rental Pavilion * Large, grassy fields * Benches * Water Fountain (play area) * Dog Waste Station * There are plans to build a trail.

Gave an excellent show for about an hour and a half. Nice large park not a bad seat anywhere. Very family friendly. A lot of families with from babies on up to preteens. Couple of the dads were playing catch with their toddlers off to the side. Great place to have the kids and get up and run around. They're not bothering anybody. You can bring in your own snacks and nonalcoholic beverages. It's all free. Bathrooms are easily accessible. They had two extra porta-johns as well as the already established restroom building, which was very clean by the way. Lots of parking, handicap accessible. They had closer parking for those that needed it. It's relatively easy to get in and out of the park there is a traffic light. Traffic does back up a bit but it's not too bad. We had a great time just sitting and listening to music and enjoying the weather. If you have a chance, check out Longs Park for their free summer concert series.

It's a great place to linger on a nice day. We got to enjoy their summer concert series on a Sunday. This is a very busy park so come early to grab a parking spot. During concerts you can grab food from mobile venues to enjoy throughout the concert. So bring a chair or blanket and enjoy a relaxing night of music. Worth a visit!

This 6 mile trail is full of pleasant surprises; it's one of the more interesting and versatile…read moretrails to ride on.  We started at the Warwick Twp Municipal Park, which itself has a pleasant 3/4 mile paved loop. Plenty of space at the parking lot which also boasts a Bike Share! It's a self-service bike rental for which you can pay online for 2 or 4 hours of use. If you cross the street, the trail is supposed to continue for another 3/4 miles. So in all you have about 7.5 miles of trail to work with in this domain. The trailhead is just behind the Bike Share. The surface is mostly smooth crusted stone until you reached the Ephrata Linear Park portion which is fully paved -- and lighted!  I am now really curious if I should come back and check it out at night one of these days.   The trail is mostly wooded, at least on one side. It passes through Amish farms - you can also tell by the aeromatic air as you pass through them? So many silos in sight along the way, you can even make it a point to count them! You will ride past the Gnome Village, Winters statue, and some interesting murals. There is also a bike park, not sure if it's free to ride through it, but there was a birthday party going on at the time and we got a treat watching young kids getting airborne. There's one "permanent" porta potty on the Ephrata side of the trail. The trail ends at the Main St in Ephrata. It's such a contrast coming out of the trail, as we suddenly immersed into "civilization"!  Seriously, our eyes literally lit up at the sight of downtown Ephrata which is surprisingly quaint, especially with the fall foliage still lingering.   It was such a delightful experience. All of the roads we had to cross had very little traffic, and the drivers were all so courteous and stopped for the bikers.  The only slightly negative was the trail was noticeably crowded. But it's totally understandable as it was a sunny, pleasant, 72 degree weather on a Saturday in November!   We were so blessed!
