If you're in Winston-Salem and you don't stop at The Struggle Bus Coffee truck at least once,…read moreyou're missing the whole vibe!!! Here's the thing. This isn't just a coffee stop. It's an experience worth getting out of bed for. I stumbled across The Struggle Bus while visiting North Carolina for the very first time, scoping out properties and trying to get a feel for the area. And honestly? This was the kind of unexpected gem that makes you seriously consider relocating. First off, the energy is unmatched. The owner Zac is responsive, friendly, and inviting. J-Michael is the kind of team member who makes you feel like a regular within 30 seconds. He's warm, genuine, welcoming, and just the right amount of hype to kickstart your day. Now let's talk drinks, because they are NOT playing around!!! I had The black sugar shaken espresso ( Smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced with that deep caramelized sweetness.) I also tried the honey maple vanilla iced oat milk latte. ( familiar comfort in a cup. Subtly sweet, layered, and dangerously easy to drink.) And the real standout: their handmade vanilla sweet cream cold foam. This isn't your standard topping. it's thick, velvety, and crafted in-house, which you don't see often at mobile coffee setups. That alone sets them apart. I will definitely be back again before I leave on Thursday because I have to try thier lemonade!

They are a mobile coffee shop with walk-up and drive-thru ordering options, as well as patio seating to enjoy your beverage. This month's specialty offerings include a variety of hot chocolates: salted caramel, s'more's cotton candy, Mexican, and raspberry cream white chocolate. Additionally, they are offering a topless raspberry tease: a raspberry white chocolate latte with a raspberry-muffin-flavored cold foam, topped with a raspberry heart. This drink is available as an iced or hot latte as well as a frappe. I purchased the topless raspberry tease iced latte and would highly recommend this drink. The flavor was phenomenal. It tasted like a raspberry crumb muffin, and the raspberry heart was adorable.

The high wooden bookshelves and designated reading tables give it literary cachet, but The Remedy leans more cozy than stuffy. There's plenty of seating inside and out, and this would be as good a place for a group as it would be for partaking solo. Part coffeeshop and part bar, The Remedy also offers baked goods, flatbreads and charcuterie alongside its coffees, teas, and cocktails. I passed on the food (it seemed overpriced), but the coffee left no room for complaint. I went with a marshmallow iced latte. It was prepared quickly, and it made for a smooth sip: not too sweet and no acidity. Winston-Salem has no shortage of places to grab a drink of the caffeinated or alcoholic varieties, but it's hard to beat the atmosphere that The Remedy has to offer.

I felt like I interrupted the gentlemen's conversation by trying to order and they were not very friendly. The veggie quiche was over $7 and kind of small. I was still hungry. It was good though. I'll add that I did not try the coffee (which apparently is a staple) There are so many OTHER breakfast and coffee spots in the city... I'll just say that.

Did a quick yelp search, and found Camino wasn't too far from where we were. We walked over and found it clustered in a nice area with several restaurants we've visited in the past. There was a short line, and only one person taking/making orders behind the counter. I couldn't figure out what the other two were doing, but he was able to keep the line moving fairly fast. We ordered a slice of quiche and a Danish to share. We asked for the quiche to have to have there, and the Danish to go, so asked to have it heated. They said they couldn't heat any food, but pointed us in to the microwave in the dining area which was a bit odd to me. Otherwise, the food was tasty. They've got a good bit of a seating inside with a laid back, relaxed feel. They've got some art on the walls, assuming from local artists for sale. They also have a small patio out front on the sidewalk. We did need to use the bathroom before leaving, which are locked, and you need to ask the staff for code to use them, which isn't something we're used to.

Today, I went to Oasis at the Mill for a delicious Velvet Fog chaga- & kava-infused drink. I also booked a Vibro-Acoustic Therapy session for the first time! I was asked what I was feeling to experience energetically out of the various programs available and I chose "Release". I didn't know what to expect and it turned out to be quite profound and healing on many levels so I want to share my experience. I was taken to a beautiful dark teal room with Tibetan prayer flags overhead...tranquil and inviting. I put on some padded headphones while the program was being initiated, and made myself comfortable on my back on an ergonomically sculpted bed. Resonant music came through the headphones as the bed began to vibrate and undulate, my back and legs receiving a massage-like experience as my entire body felt the resonance of sound healing. My first impression was feeling I was a garden being tilled...old stagnant energy was being lifted and shaken and I felt a renewed energy pouring through me. In time, I connected my experience with the elements, grounding energy of Earth, sinking and flowing as Water, lifting and moving in spirals as Air, and the warmth and blaze of Fire...as these blended into Spirit I began to journey and fell into what felt like a sleep state. I came out of the sleep state as the resonance shifted, and it gently brought me to stillness over several minutes, softening and slowing until the program ended. I felt refreshed and renewed and was already deciding that "Oh, I have to do this on a regular basis!" And, the fact that there are programs to access many energetic states is so exciting! I can say from the bottom of my freshly renewed heart, DO try this new healing opportunity at Oasis at the Mill! It is truly extraordinary!

We came in on an unseasonably chilly May morning nursing a bit of a hangover. Krankies was delightfully warm with plenty of seating. I got the Hangover Cure biscuit, which had eggs, fried chicken, bacon, cheese, and gravy on the side. I also got a hot latte and then topped it off with a cinnamon roll. My partner got the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit with an iced latte. The lattes: go with a flavored one if you grab a coffee here. Their plain latte was not that good but their vanilla latte was very good. Biscuits: WOW! The Hangover Cure is hefty with plenty of biscuit to go around - I had some to take home with me. It was absolutely everything I needed after a night of imbibing with friends. My partner also enjoyed his biscuit. Cinnamon roll: very good! They had a variety of baked goods to choose from. Definitely worth the add. All in all, I think we spent $40, which feels reasonable for the amount and quality of food we received. Definitely worth a stop in if you happen to be in the area.
