If you like seeing one price on the sign, another at the pump and then another when you insert your card; and pumps that don't work, or you have to hold the handle 1/8" down or if constantly shuts off the flow on the 3 different pumps I tried, then this dump Is for you. Oh and if you want a receipt you'll have to walk in to get it. I guess that receipt paper is just too expensive for the $3.35 a gallon gas to cover. Travel up to see my Daughters regularly and I will never use this business again. If I could give it 1/10 of a star I would.

The new store is at least 3x larger than the older one. As such, it features an updated and modern design, the parking lot is larger, and there are many more gas pumps. There is an abundance of parking on the front and side of the building, with doors on both sides and entrances on both the 17K and Rock Cut Road sides of the parking lot. This is much more efficient than the old store. The inventory is wide-ranged. There are a few shelves with perishable foods and miscellaneous items, but much of the store contains fresh food -- hot or cold. There is a variety of a little bit of everything. Staff are friendly and plenty. I stopped in just before midnight on a weeknight and there were 4 employees working. Two were stocking the shelves, one was cleaning, and the other was a cashier (who was also cleaning). Staff were extremely friendly and 2 employees went out of their ways to advise me that uniformed personnel (military, law enforcement, etc.) always get coffee for free. A few customers came in and out, but the amount of staff on hand was easily able to keep up with the flow, plus there were still enough employees to get the other jobs done (stocking, cleaning, etc.). For a gas station / convenience store, this is impressive. I hope it lasts.

There's no Wal-Mart in America's Highlands, when all else is closed and you don't feel like avoiding a million deer on pitch black winding two lane roads, you head to Stewart's! Joy! Things were clean, though there were no other cars filling up alongside me. I can't even say it's a problem of mine, but I never did know that Citgo has their own gas-savings/rewards card out there. I saw an application to fill out for this card at the pumps, but I had my own form of gas-saving/rewards card with GasBuddy that I was dealing with. I just wish it wouldn't be geared towards those with insertable cards to start it off, as I bet my other brother has a card already and was hoping you'd have a way to enter a phone number or similar at the pumps to get the same discount. I'm thankful I don't have to go through all that rigmarole with GasBuddy at my side. I can't stand always saying what seems to be the same thing in all my gas reviews. But when you figure in all the possible places with only pay-at-the-pump conditions, you get the picture that I have few other choices to choose from in what to say. But it hasn't been just me that has stopped in. My brother also stops in on occasion - though his experiences are sparse and outdated, and besides they are his spot to get a short car-wash which is also present on site. (This experience I can't back up, as I myself have never used this location's wash, as I find better prices and services elsewhere that make this car wash unnecessary and pricey.)

Everything inside looks pretty well stocked with snacks, drinks, and even coffee to make while on the go. Little cramped inside when moving around, so do take caution. Customer service at this Valero is great, as they're friendly and pretty outgoing to start a conversation with you especially if you're a regular. The shelves are well stocked, and has more than one or two brands on the shelf of the different items that that company may carry. Not just during Lent, they will cook seafood to order for you. Although, during Lent they were are specials in the seafood department. In the meat department you're not obligated to buy a whole side of beef; you can pick up a couple of spare ribs or maybe two of something. The store is clean and well organized. The aisles are wide enough for two carts to pass, without a problem. There's more than enough free parking outside.
