It's okay not to bad, it's what you get for a thrift storre. But, it's very irritating to have them announce out loud literally every 2mins, what they like you to do, what they don't want u to do, what time should their employees go to break, they want "Erik" going to the office, it's SUPER annoying to hear that lady on the speaker screaming at everything. My boyfriend and I come here often. The prices are incredible and the selection is so eclectic. I've gotten brand new shoes, hand crafted furniture, random decor, furs and so many more things. One of my absolute favorite used stores to shop at!! You need to spend about an hour here to really see it all and to find the best bargains. The inventory changes DAILY and items sell fast. If you're thinking about the item there's a good chance it will be gone tomorrow. They mark down items and I've walked out with awesome clothes for just a buck! They operate a little differently than other stores and maintain a pretty serious zero bs tolerance. They don't negotiate on prices, they won't sell you things that have the price tags removed, and they ask you to check in large bags or leave them in your car. Before Covid I went thrifting multiple times a week. I collect vintage home decor and other items so it is pretty rare that I walk away from a thrift store empty-handed...except at Speedway Outlet. I have probably only purchased a handful of items from here for all the times I've visited. The atmosphere is really abysmal - horrible lighting, crowded racks - and the selection is really sparse. Granted, the majority of the space is dedicated to clothing which I'm usually not interested in so there could be some good finds there, but I rarely want to browse through because of the vibe here. Selection of home decor is pretty small, and there's little to no furniture. They have a "boutique" corner where they sell the "nicer" things for higher prices. This place attracts some sketchy people, which is typical for thrift stores but especially so for this one. I definitely wouldn't want to come here now during Covid given how close-together the areas are here. The only good thing I can say about this place is that I've found a couple of nice vintage items for cheap, but only because they didn't know what they had, otherwise it'd end up with a high-priced sticker in the boutique section. I've pretty much ruled this place out of my thrifting rounds because it's just not worth the time going through here when there are so many better thrift stores in Tucson. read more

Love the clothes. But I've been needing to write this the staff are so rude!!!!! Every single time I have came here I've witnessed staff being so rude to people. I have videos and pictures but I won't post them. They treat customers like dirt. One lady had 3 of the same pair of pants but a tag came off of one of them. So they couldn't sell her them. She spoke Spanish so in English the employee was pissed off because she wasn't understanding and kept talking over her over and over saying he didn't speak Spanish. So rude. The staff is useless (beyond unfriendly--unwilling to help.) I recently stopped in to browse for whatever and found a set of bicycle tires and a guitar stand. The prices had either been removed by a customer with no motive, or the items had not been priced when I arrived. Because of this I was told by a register clerk and later by a shift manager with a smarmy smile that they couldn't sell the items to me, store policy. Stay classy, Speedway Outlet. I AM SAYING NO TO SPEEDWAY OUTLET !!!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! On Wednesday June 6, 2018, Time: around 10:00 AM. I found about $15.00 worth of items. When I got to the cashier to pay. I was told that four of my items were not priced correctly. I was then told that I could not buy the items. I was like W.T.F. ???? I was then accused of changing prices for those four items. Each item was marked $1.98. A grand total of $7.92. I would not risk going to jail over $8.00, and my background is in law enforcement. So I just left every item that I was going to buy, and walked out. I will never shop at Speedway Outlet again !!!! All the morning cashiers need to be terminated !!!! They cycle stock a lot, which is a plus, but they put a lot of damaged product on the shelf. Not too many things have all their parts, the place is a bit scattered, & hygene there is an issue. You can find a good item, maybe two, but it's not a place to actively go shopping. I may seem like I'm expecting a lot from a thrift shop, by there are a lot of them nearby; this would only be the place to go if you were bored, & the parking lot happens to be empty. The layout will probably frustrate you, & the staff (for the exception of their extemely friendly cashiers) looks extemely displeased w/ everything around them. I may have just aught it on a bad day, but that place definitely needs a pep-rally or something; a morale boost & a bit more quality control would make this place A-1 read more

Good selection in clothing. Have to have time to look through things however. No dressing room. Tried a pair of pants on hat were cute over my shorts and in the process the tag came off. At checkout I was not allowed to purchase the pants because the tag had been tampered with... My total purchase was $15. Tried to pay with $100 bill and Desiree the cashier said 'I can't take $100 bill for payment, not on $15 anyway Suggest some customer service training for the employees and also some grace on the whole tag tampering thing being they do not have dressing rooms and I'm guessing most tags will come off while trying things on over what you are wearing and that kind of thing. Will most likely not be back which s a shame because I appreciate the organization this store supports. read more

No chance to try on clothes, all sales are final. I ask employee questions and I get and eyeroll and attitude (I asked one question, not a multitude). Prices are better at other places--including other thrift stores, plus you get to try on stuff to see if it fits. 19.99 for used bedsheets. 19.99 for used flower pots. 25 dollars for used shoes. This is one of my favorite thrift stores. However, after today's visit, I'm more than a little disappointed! I bought three things which, when I took the price stickers off, found that they had marked it TWICE THE ORIGINAL PRICE! WTH?! Also, I bought a tightly wrapped plastic bag with two Barbie dolls, only to discover once I got home and opened the bag that both of the dolls heads had been ripped off!! They put them in a bag with their heads propped nicely on the dolls so they could sell them to an unsuspecting customer! Again, WTH?! As I was looking at the clothes, there was a really nice shirt on the rack with a very obvious tear on the front of it. Why was that put out to sell? WTH?! On numerous occasions, I've seen things from the Dollar Tree marked at $2! WTH?! Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most people go to thrift stores looking for bargains? i am disabled and have bladder problems from medication which means when i have to pee, i dont have much time before i can not hold my pee anymore . they refused to let me use the bathroom stating its for employees only and that i should walk to mcdonalds. i begged with the manager because i knew i would not make it to mcdonalds. I know policy is policy, but I've worked retail where we didn't allow customers use our restrooms, but if a disabled person or a pregnant woman asked politely (which I did), what matters more? Saving a pregnant or disabled person from having an embarassing accident or just walking them to the back room. If they thought I'd steal something they could have accompanied me and just waited outside the restroom. also when i said that Ive had this disability for awhile the manager had the audacity to say "well if you had it your whole life you should know how to manage it." wow. just wow. never have i felt so disrespected over something i cannot control. I had a few items in my hand and I went to pay and mentioned i was sorry if i dripped a little (i was wearing a skirt so it would have just gone straight to the floor) because i literally have a disability where i cant control it nor feel it coming out always, i just didnt want someone to slip in it. the employee called the manager and the manager wouldn't let me pay to get my items and kicked me out of the store. the manager then got a male employee to force me out when i voiced how i felt i was being discriminated. they kept repeating i had to leave even while i was just zipping up my purse. Not sure why they had to call a male if there was already a female there? It's not like I was violent or even yelling. Yes, I'm leaving, but I was about to pay so I have to put away all my stuff. Repeating it over and over isn't going to make me want to leave any faster. It was humiliating, all over a disability. It was the manager that was working on Halloween dressed up as michael jackson. the employees obviously felt bad for me and it was extremely embarassing. i will never shop here again and strongly advise that no one shops nor donates here they are discriminatory towards people with disabilities. Also, most thrift stores have restrooms. Not sure why they feel the need to keep their restrooms off limits. I love this store - lots of quality men's clothing at low, low prices, perfect for an old cheapskate like me. I've been gradually building my wardrobe of shorts and tee shirts since moving here a little over a year ago. Except for a half dozen days a year it's always freezing in No. Cal where I lived for the previous 42 years so I had jack in the way of Summer duds. This store is the best but don't believe me because I don't want you swooping in here and taking the best stuff before I do. Only 4 stars because their book, record, CD selection sucks. read more

This place is a little terrifying--there are a bunch of signs attributed to "The Management" that would not be out of place in an overwrought young-adult dystopia, and an incredible amount of effort was expended in setting up the place to be maximally inconvenient to shoplifters and everyone else besides. But it's also got a lot of cool stuff I never see at other thrift stores--bowling balls, cameras, lots of whole categories that very few places have. So it's absolutely worth the trip, and the pushing through the slightly crowded aisles. read more

Very unpleasant staff rude and not here to show community support don't supporting this place

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. They have the most rude employees I have ever encountered at a store. The cashier Robbie was extremely rude and arrogant towards the customer in front of me. It was taking a long time to ring up the customer in front of me and so I thought I would be helpful and take the hangers off the clothes I was purchasing. There was a pair of boys pants that when I took the hanger off the part of the tag ripped off and fell to the ground. Half of the green tag was left on the pants with staples and the other half was on the floor. It was clearly obvious that the jagged edges that the two tags matched as well as it happened right in front of Robbie the cashier and the customer he was ringing up. Robbie refused to sell me the item and told me it was store policy. If it is your policy that you won't sell anything that the tag has ripped off, then come up with a better way of attaching tags so they will not fall off or easily rip off. I own a company and there's no way I would have an employee like Robbie working for me. My company prides itself on awesome customer service and treating customers with the upmost respect, something that you definitely will not find at that store. Also, watch out if you are in the kids clothing section or by the toys because they push carts through the back door super fast without even watching and if you're in their way they have no problem almost running you or your kids over. there is only one reason to give them 1 star, just one is enough to shadow the incredible clothes prices and selection... and I mean INCREDIBLE!! great jeans for less than 2 dlls, A LOT of clothes, and I mean A LOT!! very well organized, VERY BIG, and they have "women coats" place. And it's a very big place... So what in the world could be so wrong that with so many great things I gave them only 1 puny star???!!! THERE IS NO FREAKING DRESSING ROOM!!!! my husband wanted to try some gorgeous jean... but HOW, JUST HOW could he tell they fitted??!! was he supposed to take off his jeans in front of everyone? Now all ladies know a size number means NOTHING, you could be a size 7 or 10, depending on the brand, I had over 10 blouses I wanted to try and .... THANK YOU! no place to try them on! the place is huge!! you could not make room for just 1 small fitting room?? like on the semi-desert corner between clothes and house articles? nothing can make up for that!! I love to go to thrift stores. Although I have monies to spend, and like the malls, I prefer to thrift. So I decided to go shopping today, and stopped in Speedway Outlet. I was looking through the skirts, when the supervisor " John" gets right in front of me (he had been at the front of the store when I first walked in minutes before) straightening all the articles of clothing on the racks. He never said "pardon me" or apologized for stepping directly infront of me and preventing me from looking at the skirts. I thought, this is kind of rude that he got right in my way, so I walked 2 racks over and decided to look at some slacks instead. Not even a minute later, John followed me to the exact same place skipping over two aisles like I had. I commented "really? Why are you continuously getting right in front of me in every rack and aisle I go?". He commented " I follow the messy customers" and proceeds to show me clothing falling off the hanger that I never even touched! I told him it was not me, and I did not appreciate him accusing me after only being in the store 10 minutes by this point. I tried to ignore it. I went to another associate and asked if they had a fitting room. She said no, and minutes afterwards John aproaches her and proceeds to look over at me and laugh as if he was talking about me.??? Finally, I decide to just leave the store but wait in line to get this supervisors name. The cashier tells me "his name is John" and John comes up and tells me to leave since I'm not purchasing anything. Very unprofessional, I work customer service and have never been treated so poorly. I literally was in the store for 15 minutes max, total. If the store was a mess, I certainly did not contribute to it and I didn't deserve that kind of treatment. The walkways are fairly narrow and the staff that were stocking the clothes pretty much ignored the customers. The saving grace was the clerk in the back that was patient with me as I look through different watches. I was pleased with my purchase and will return in the future. read more

I have always liked this place especially when the front end people were from Nepal . Great manners. Well I went in this last Wednesday and met the nastiest front end manager ever.I as a diisabled person, using a cane, and leaning on my cart , to stand up, for if I stand a long time I pass out, unless I have a cart to lean on, was told by the cashier who meant well that I had to put the cart back. Now I can see why, as there is not room at the front, but under the Federal law, ADA, under the Justice dept, this is violating the law of least restrictive envirement. Most people do not know that, but I do as I have a degree in that field, and have worked in it many years. Then I asked what the return policy was and at that time this loud mouth manager interruped and read me the riot act, because I mentioned that Savers lets you return thing for exchange, at which time I told her to stop. She threatened to bar me from the store forever. I called the store and someone was to call me , and they have not. Bottom line, I will not go there any more. As a Vet, I am skeptical of the support they give anyway.But none the less i have loved t his place until now.End of story read more

This place is awesome! I NEVER know what I am going to find here. They have such a wide collection and assortment of things, it's impossible for me not to go and find something I like, and have never left empty handed. As far the staff and employees that work there, they deal with the public and I some of the people that shop there, are not the most pleasant people to deal with I imagine. I never had a problem with them and I keep to myself. Also, it's an independent thrift store, not Neiman Marcus. They work hard, getting the stuff out to customers. My girlfriend went to this store bought a queen size mattress set, and after she backed the truck up to get it, these pricks informed her that they would not help her load it in the truck, they could only take it to the dock. I used to go to Speedway Outlet back when it was at the store across the street from Goodwill (now a pawn shop). My husband and I were in the area and stopped in for a bit. It was okay for what it was. We poked around the back for a bit, but didn't really find anything we needed or wanted. I did find a bridesmaid dress in the color I chose for our big wedding in December in my sister's size and style that I'd wanted. I didn't buy it because I had the unfortunate luck of being in Davids Bridal two weeks ago and bought one off their not-to-even-try-returning rack. I doubt I'll be back any time soon (we don't live in Tucson right now), but it was a good time waster. read more

My friend and I went shopping,I calculate how much my friend pay for her stuff. So when we reached to the cashier, we knew that she overcharged us. We took the receipt and got our stuff and double check all the prices items before we complain. But it was right cashier overcharged, and we came back to the store and complain bringing the items with the receipt. They are very rude and thieves they did not refund us because they said we took the items outside. Overall, this store is not deserving for donations. Speedway Outlet is decent in the way that thrift stores go, but it does leave some things to be desired. The good: A little bit of everything, some good pricing on clothes and other items. I've gotten clothes for my kids for as little as 75 cents each, a steal by many thrift store standards. They also have a nice little pet section. The bad: You do have to watch the price of some of their knick-knacks. I've seen some used items priced higher than they would have been new. The ugly: They have no fitting rooms, so I rarely buy clothes for myself, no matter what the price. Also, the customer service can be poor, depending on who is there at the time. Overall: I do shop there at times, and have gotten some values. But if I'm looking for something in particular, or even clothes I want to try on, I go somewhere else. read more

Not family-friendly at all. No in-store bathroom for customers; our 2-month old baby needed a diaper changed and they wanted to send us across to McDonalds in 110° heat. Eventually they let us change him laying him down in the corner, but then noticed that our diaper bag was a backpack and said we would have to leave it at the front. So they wanted to separate a baby from his formula and diapers. We will NOT be going back. read more

My pound class instructor always wears cute athletic clothing to her classes. She occasionally goes to Speedway Outlet. I have always passed by but wasn't even sure what the heck it was. Well, it makes Goodwill, Golden Goose, Salvation Army and other Thrift shops look like Bloomingdales. Get my gist. I looked at all the Yelps and it is pitiful reading the review. But with my N.Y. curious attitude I had to see for myself. The barking manager was barking some rules on a loud speaker a few times but paid no attention. No dressing rooms so you pick from racks that have no sizes. They pin on a paper the price on each item which is from 99 cents, $l.98, $2.98 and even as high as $4.98. The store is huge packed with all sorts of household goods, some couches I wouldn't sit on, pots and pans, etc. I must admit the clothes were washed. Tons of jeans which for some unearthly reason were all so wrinkled. Maybe was washed and not put in a dryer. I didn't buy anything though and I just might add it to my stops for another shot. read more

I would never give this store a single star at all. It deserves at least a negative 100. I witnessed one employee getting upset at a woman who untied the laces of a pair of shoes and the tag fell off. The guy kept telling her he couldn't sell because of store policy. But the tag clearly fell off on it's own. He was a complete dick. On top of that, the manager is a real bitch. She was no way helpful. I was trying to purchase a few items and 2 of them didn't have tags on it. She went on to say how she cant sell to me because the tags were gone. And that their "pricers" aren't available on weekends. So you make everyone else work except the people you actually need when this type of thing happens. The management needs to go! She has no idea what she is doing and clearly has no business being a supervisor. She threatens anyone who tries to put her in her place about being banned from the store. She's acting like she's running the place, when she doesn't even own it. Owners are dumb to have hired this woman. Worst store ever! Save your money and shop at other thrift stores. They do not care about the customers, just money. I am reporting to the better business bureau, as well as the news outlets here. This place needs to be shut down. It's all a scam.
