As I was shopping, I felt "followed" especially by one of the workers, old lady with short bowl-cut hair and glasses. Everywhere I turned she seemed to be nearby pretending to be doing something. I decided to ignore her since it wasn't worth my time and energy to worry about it. I had a situation with them today, certain color tags were supposed to be 75% off well I got home only to discover they didn't give me all the discounts. I just came into the store to do some shopping and immediately I was discriminated against I don't know why, I have a backpack purse and I was told to leave it on the front counter and I said it's my purse and they said you have to leave it on the counter, you could take your wallet out. Rude and incompetent manager, owner, and staff. They have a "policy" of asking for IDs for Debit card purchases. Which is a direct violation of Visa & Mastercard's Merchant Agreement prohibiting merchants from doing demanding IDs from card holders. Manager said she worked there for 20 years and never heard of such a thing. She (the manager) called the owner, and the owner told her to tell me not to return to the store. How is it in a retail environment in 2024, that a manager and owner both do not know they are NOT to be asking for IDs for purchases?!?! I asked why this policy isn't posted with the other dozen polices that the store has, and they couldn't give an answer. Business reported as a Visa Merchant violation. Owner would rather violate a policy, loose a customer, then to accept what a customer is attempting to tell them. Manager and owner need to educate themselves. I had a disappointment at this store that was made into a really nice experience by the staff. I came in yesterday and found a skirt, but the tag had been removed and the cashier told me that they'd have to retag it and return it to the floor when they opened today at 10. I wasn't able to buy the skirt, disappointing but I'm sure it's a policy that matters to them or they wouldn't have it so I understand. I couldn't make it in until 12 today and the skirt was nowhere to be found There were two ladies working this morning who did everything they could to help me though, and that left such a good impression that I'll definitely be back. They knew they hadn't sold the skirt that morning (I had a picture, and it was a slow holiday). They checked the back twice, checked every rack they could think of twice, asked to see a picture and assured me that if it was found they'd set it aside for me. Would give it 5 stars BUT THE VERY LOUD PA system with constant repetitive announcements re leaving hangers and watching children get old and visit the boutique get old fast. Did she mean that I never spoke Spanish to her It was then that she turned to look at me with a very bad attitude and said that she did not hear my question, I asked her what was the reason to said that she didn't speak Spanish if she hadn't heard my question. Britney responded very rudely to a racist comment about my accent, and inexplicably continue raising her voice to me, in a gesture of not arguing with the employee, I walked to the jewelry area and request to speak to a supervisor. and let them know what happened, after im cheking to a supervisor the employee apologized with me denying her words and trying to change what she said , finally in the end of our conversation she acknowledged and proved that she said those racist comments. The sad thing was that after a few minutes the supervisor came out almost yelling, asking the employees to only make any complaint with her, since the person who attended me with my complaint was the sub-supervisor, the supervisor almost continued yelling in the store that the employee Brithney has not finished her training yet, it was very sad to see this type of supervisor yelling instructions to her employees like this in front of all the customers and very unprofessional, when I was still in the store and she was able to speak to me directly and don't yell at the store to send a message that she can give me directly. I wonder if the behavior of the new employee was lack of training or bad influence from such a rude supervisor. read more

My favorite thrift store! They have *everything*. Almost my entire wardrobe is clothing from this store, and all nice quality, some designer brand. I've bought kitchen items, hand weights, books, etc. They have a wide selection of stuff. The store is kept neat and customers are asked to keep children with them, they don't tolerate BS and I love that. No, there is nowhere to try on clothes - the USED to be, years back, but apparently customers abused it. For the price you're paying for the clothes, it's worth risking a misfit. I highly recommend this store for all your thrifting needs. Staff are friendly and helpful (regardless what other reviewers have said - I'm in this store several times a month for going on over a decade now) provided you don't make a mess and act like a civilized shopper. read more

Recently I had some time to kill so I thought I would stop by and see if anything new came in . I found a few things alike so I put them in my basket and proceeded to go pay . At the end of the transaction my total was $67 .15. I told the cashier I want to put $20 in cash and the rest of my card . I gave her the $20 and give her my card . She processed it and had me sign and I left . Later that night I was going over my receipts from the shopping I done previously and noticed that I was overcharged she put all total on my card and kept the $20 . But following day Saturday I went into the store and asked to speak to the manager it took her a few minutes to get it to me but as she was approaching she was saying there is no refunds no exchanges and all sales are final. I explained to her the situation of what happened yesterday and informed her it wasn't a refund or exchange it was that I was overcharged . She stated that would be a refund and a refund is not permitted . I said no it's not a refund it's an overcharge she still stated that would be a refund . I said so I'm basically out $20 she said yes and then she says that if I wanted to speak to the owner here is his email address and he would say the same thing ​ she then quickly turned and left. I was in total disbelief that how easy it was for them to steal $20 from me. I will be contacting my bank to see what I can do I will also be emailing the owner to inform him of the situation . It's sad to say bent over this fiasco they've lost a customer I still don't understand how an overcharged can be a refund sorry Speedway Outlet there are too many other thrift stores in town that have better customer service. read more

Well first off they are overpriced. Most dresses are between $15 and $22. I think that is quite a bit to ask for a used dress from target. Their selection is not much different from any Goodwill in the city. Second they don't have a dressing room, if you are gonna charge high prices, and call yourself Tucson's finest thrift store, at least have a dressing room. Third it smells, like disinfectant and gross. Like they think spraying pine-sol will fix the smell of nasty. I also noticed it's very dirty, and disorganized in their back room. So this isn't the most organized thrift store, or the cleanest, or the friendliest, but when it comes down to it I never leave here empty handed. It's definitely a place to go when you have an afternoon to waste and 10 dollars in your pocket. I've scored amazing deals here, but sometimes you do have to search a bit. They generally have cheaper prices than Goodwill and other thrift stores in the area for most of their clothing. If you're looking for the cheapest options, go to the end of the racks. All their items are discounted according to how long they have been in the store. For clothing, new items are at the front and are gradually rotated to the end and discounted. Check back if you find something you like, but it's too expensive. Usually people have the same thought, and it'll be discounted later on in the week. The pricing on the rest of the items can be a bit sporadic at times. That just means for every overpriced little knick-knack you overlook, you can find a gem at a price that can't be beat. For example, today I walked out with a 50 dollar purse for 5, a framed piece of art for 10 (still had the Homegoods sticker on the back for 39.99), 4 shirts for between 1 and 5 dollars (including two Banana Republic blouses), and two Coleman camping chairs for 4 dollars each. The staff can be overwhelmed at times, especially during their lunch breaks and at closing, but I've found on a whole they will try to help as best they can. For the best service/most organization of items, go in the mornings. Also, they had to remove their dressing rooms since people were using them to steal items, so make sure to wear a little tighter fitting clothes that you can try things on over. Once you get used to it, it can be kinda fun. There's one set of mirrors by the shoes, but also another one next to the jewelry counter if it's crowded up front. There's generally a couple people trying things on, so don't hesitate to join in! They definitely help you decide if something is cute or you should pass. read more

Well I used to love this place but each time I come back it gives me more of a reason to not come back. I get that they have to watch out for themselves and the store but come on my diaper bag has to stay at the front with people that look more like they will steal from me than I would from here. And then to top it off I take my bag back to my car and ring in one diaper and a bag of wipes and get told once again I can't bring it I have to leave it at the front. I'm shocked. I purchased a clock radio and a coffee maker. The coffee maker was $7. As I checked out, I asked the cashier, "You test these right, so we know they work, right?" He says in reply, "We plug them in and if the light comes on, we consider them working." My gut told me to not buy it, but I trusted. I also felt pressured as the line was growing as shoppers needed to exit the store. Let me tell you a little about me. I am a senior citizen on a very fixed SS income. I struggle each day to make ends meet. I have lived with no music in my tiny apartment for 3 years as I didn't have a radio. I treated myself yesterday to one from your store. I bought a coffee maker from another thrift store 4 years ago for $5 and it finally died. I had been without a cup of coffee for a week. I was getting desperate, for a cup. Hence, I bought one from your shop. When I got home last night, I pulled up the manual online to see how to make it work. Yes the light did come on when I plugged it in, like your employee said. But it also beeped non stop. Why? Because according to the manual, if parts are missing, it will not work. The beep is to alert you that you forgot to include all the inner parts. I also opened the coffee basket drawer. Inside was dried up moldy coffee grounds!!!! I guess that inspecting things that come in to your store as donations, are not really inspected. I showed pics to your cashier this morning when I tried to return this for a refund or or an exchange. I also tried to explain why your NO REFUND policy needs to be waved. The conversation started out quiet but by the time 3 more employees were surrounding me, I GOT LOUD! I felt threatened. The woman who confronted 'my attitude' told me she called the police on me. You bet I was hot!!! Sir, I believe you owe me $7. This is no way to do business. Your employees failed to inspect this coffee maker to make sure it worked.
