With the beginning of the Statehouse Market in downtown Indy for 2023, I'm once again discovering…read moresome of the hidden gems and newbies in the realm of food trucks and farmer's market vendors. One such truck is Milkhouse Brew, a Mooresville, Indiana based mobile coffee truck serving locally roasted coffee, specialty beverages, and locally baked confections. Milkhouse Brew is a partnership between cousins Haliena "Hali" Mynatt and Suni Johnsons. Hali also owns Morgan County event venues 5 East and The Barn at Milkhouse Lane. Suni is a longtime photographer in the area. Both women are locals who graduated from Mooresville High School. Milkhouse Brew has a fairly basic menu, or at least did today, including cappuccino, latte, macchiato, americano, chai latte, and hot chocolate with some variations and flavors available. Prices were pretty darn reasonable and all the drinks could be served either hot or cold. They also all came in either 16-ounce and 20-ounce sizes. Prices primarily were in the $3-6 range and for that you get a tasty drink, awesome service, and the thrill of supporting local. I ordered a 20-ounce iced americano. It was served fairly quickly and they seemed to do a steady business today. A food truck offering coffee has been a serious lacking at Statehouse Market and I'm hoping they will return. Coffee is from Timber City Coffee and Tea - an establishment that recently opened up a storefront in Plainfield. Milkhouse also plans to carry Circle Kombucha, though I did not see it available today. They are also exploring options for root beer on tap. I loved my drink, though I did think the ice melted super quickly and that slightly hindered my enjoyment of the drink. I still enjoyed it, however, that does keep me from forking over a 5th star. Who knows? I hope I get to award that in the future as this new kid on the block, women-owned and operated, really gets going. There's much to love here with an appealing truck, friendly service, quality products that are also local, and an overall winning experience. Here's hoping they'll be back at Statehouse Market in the near future. I could not find an actual address, though they are active on social media and do have a website. They seem to be particularly active in the Morgan/Hendricks county area.

Coffee trucks you can never go wrong with. It was a hot day yesterday and the iced vanilla latte I…read moreordered was refreshing. It came out fast also! I like the menu is simple and to the point. Expressos that can be iced or hot, cappuccino, lattes, Americanos, chai lattes are what they offer. Milks - almond, oat, or whole. Caramel, vanilla, and mocha are the options for flavorings. Whipped cream and extra espresso shots are also available. It's a cute truck. I will be keeping my eye out for them again. They have an Instagram to tell you where they will be next. @milkhousebrew

This may be my new favorite gas station! (Who knew that such a thing existed.) I was avoiding the…read moreconstruction on SR 67 and passed through town and realized I needed gas. Other stations looked difficult to get in and out of for the direction I was going, and then this place appeared. Located just east of downtown Mooresville along Main Street, this dual entrance station has the entrances far enough apart that it makes for easy transitions to the highway. Here, Main Street has only limited traffic so I don't have to worry about backed up traffic or waiting for lights to change like I do at corner stations. The multiple bay area is also sheltered all the way to the convenience store/cashier so you don't have to be rained on. The pumps are modern and give you the payment options before fueling. They also have disposable gloves AND hand sanitizers (stocked!) for convenience too! Never saw either of those at my regular stations. Inside, the restrooms were clean and directly to the right of the doors so you don't have to wander though the aisles or passed people waiting at the cashiers unless you want to make a purchase. They do have a coffee station, a hot meal station (hot dogs, etc), and even some refrigerated sandwiches in addition to the rows of packaged snacks. Outside, they sell ricks of firewood, window washing fluid, and have a pay per use vacuum for your car interior on the east end of the lot. Overall, I had a really great impression of this station and will be sure to keep it in mind for my next fill up. Review #3460
