From handmade soaps and jewelry to even being able to order locally grown peaches -- I was obsessed. They had "blind date with a book" selections wrapped up and ready to choose from, plus so many fun little treasures to browse whether you're popping in for a quick coffee run or planning to stay awhile. The cozy, quaint atmosphere made it feel instantly welcoming. Their spring menu was incredible! I tried the Berries n' Cream Iced Latte -- made with white chocolate, blueberry syrup, and topped with strawberry cold foam -- and it was creative, unique, and seriously so good. I also grabbed a strawberry muffin, which isn't something you see very often, and it was absolutely delicious. The service was truly one of a kind. Even as a first-time visitor, I felt right at home. I already can't wait to come back and see what seasonal creations they dream up next!

It's also a gift shop with artwork, crafts and other items made by locals artists and crafters. It's a great place to drink and shop. The shop has a couple of different rooms, with gifts and fun things in each room. I spied hand-poured candles, bespoke essential oil fragrances, crocheted stuffed animals, books published by local authors, kitchen goods, jewelry, magnets, gift cards, clothing, and even food items like local honey and peanut butter. I spent a little while browsing and I wanted all of the things. There's just something about gifts made by someone with intention and love. When I finally made my way to the coffee counter, I ordered not my standard black coffee, but a chai latte. Do you know why? Because I freakin' could! The chai latte was made with whole milk, and it was delicious all the way to the end. Coffee beverages come in two sizes: 12 ounces and 16 ounces. They also have baked goods, like pastries, bagels, muffins, croissants, and even a chocolate-filled waffle. I also saw that they offer avocado toast and bagel sandwiches. There are a few tables inside this cozy coffee shop, located near the counter where you order. This would be a good place to meet up with a friend and enjoy a nice coffee or chai, and sit for a while, or take your drinks to go and talk about nothing and everything.

Ziggi's is a chain coffee shop, but it's slightly smaller than that other coffee chain. (You know…read morethe one.) So I felt slightly better about kind-of-not-really-but-yes-sort-of supporting a local coffee shop. They have a drive-thru, but I parked and went inside to get my coffee. The Sundays were playing over the speakers when I entered, which is always a good sign. I just ordered a black cup of coffee -- they have medium and dark roast drip coffee. It was good coffee, and surprisingly, it got better as it got cooler. I've never had that happen before! Usually, black coffee gets more bitter as it sits, but not so with Ziggi's. They sell a variety of baked goods, packaged cookies, premade breakfast burritos, as well as other beverages that aren't coffee, like smoothies, teas, and something called Energy Infusions. In fact, these kinds of drinks make up the majority of their menu, and their menu didn't even have regular coffee on it. I had to ask if they even sell drip coffee, and indeed they do. The people who work here were very friendly and super efficient. The location is great -- right off the I-70.

I have this dumb goal of visiting and reviewing all of the Pana locations around central Indiana, because I just love this chain so much. Like all of the Pana locations I've visited so far, this one is just as great as I expected it to be. I have a standard order at Pana: a glazed twisted donut. At the very least, I get one of these. Sometimes, when I'm feeling especially indulgent, a glazed twisted is also accompanied by another donut -- usually a different type of glazed donut, like a glazed old fashioned or the ugly but exceedingly delicious glazed buttermilk. (Why are the most tasty baked goods the ugliest ones?) This visit, I got my glazed twisted, plus a few others to take home: a maple bar, a strawberry glazed with sprinkles and a raspberry jelly-filled donut. The service here is so quick. There were three people in front of me, but I waited maybe 30 seconds before someone was helping me. Then I was on my way with my bag of donuts in less than two minutes. There are some tables inside, so you can stay and eat your donuts here, if you want. I've never stayed and eaten inside a Pana. This is a grab-and-go joint to me. Donuts are my favorite sweet treat -- for my birthday every year, I get birthday donuts instead of birthday cake. So, of course, I had to eat my donut right away and it did not make it home. Instead, it was eaten while I was driving, which is the best way to eat things. There's nothing like driving through construction traffic on the east side with sticky, glazed fingers.

In my opinion, there are better places for breakfast. We arrived and checked in with the host and were told there would be about a 15 minute wait, which ended up being a bit less than that. They were doing a good job quickly cleaning the tables and resetting them for the next guests and they got through the waitlist very quickly. We were seated and our server came over right away and took our drink order (two coffees and two waters) and returned almost immediately with our request. I asked a couple of questions about the menu and whether the biscuits were made in house. I was told no, that they came in frozen. No biggie.. I decided to do something light and chose the oatmeal with blueberries. My friend did scrambled eggs, sausage and pancakes. The service was good. Nothing exceptional but certainly solid. The place was packed and I'm sure it had been a long day for the breakfast crew. Our drinks were never empty and our server dropped off extra napkins without asking and checked on us throughout our visit. When she brought our check, I placed my credit card on the table and she walked by a couple of times without taking it, which I thought was strange. Then I realized there was a cash register at the back of the restaurant with cashiers. I looked at my bill to see if it said anything about paying at the cash register and it didn't. We probably would have been out of there about 10 minutes sooner had she mentioned that we were to pay the cashier. Again, no real complaints about that, but something worth mentioning. My real issue was the food. This isn't a scratch made kitchen and nothing was exceptional. Syrup was on each table in bulk and was probably from GFS or another supplier. Pancake batter was the same. Oatmeal was okay but again, not great. Nothing seems to be made in house here. Even the coffee had a slightly off taste. Four stars for the service but only two for the food. Since I came here for the food and not the service, that's where my rating comes from.

I've driven by the Bakery, so many times and wanted to stop, but I was always in a hurry. My sister and I went in and we each got a dessert and because it was four in the afternoon, we got decaffeinated coffee. The refills were free and we sat at the little counter like we were at a diner and enjoyed everything about this iconic little bakery. The decor is a eclectic. We just took our time and looked around and laughed at so many signs and odd little things that were placed over the years. On the way to the ladies room, you will find out that the gentleman that started the restaurant fought in one of the world wars, and you will see his worn out shoes, his uniforms, his letters of accommodation and Learn his story. Now let's get to the desserts. We shared some type of a wonderful lemon pastry and a black forest cake. Best black forest cake I've ever had. Savored every bite. We were able to buy the last of the springle's that they had made from Christmas. FYI, if you don't like black licorice don't buy Springerle's but you can only get them at Christmas because it's a German tradition and they won't work in the summertime because of the humidity. Things that I learned that day. We saw that they had a dinner menu with a huge variety of different bratwurst and assorted sausages that we would like to try sometime. We ended up spending an hour and a half in a beautiful little place that we thought we were just going to stop and grab desserts to go.

The back area with most of the booths had too many people in it at all times, which stressed us out. I felt like couldn't really look at everything and often had to wait awkwardly to the side until other people finally moved out of the way. I ended up getting a new permanent bracelet after one of mine broke a couple weeks ago. I hadn't looked at the vendor lineup before coming, but had hoped there would be a permanent jewelry booth there and was very happy to see Golden Era. The owner was so nice and told me that Milk & Honey often lets her come by for events, so that's nice to know when going back to get coffee again. We also got a couple of gorgeous floral shortbread cookies from a vendor and had them as a nice little treat the next day. Despite how busy/packed it was, it was still very fun to have the event to browse while sipping on a coffee. I also loved the booth diversity- a fresh flower booth to make bouquets, cookies, permanent jewelry, antiques, vintage jewelry, a few clothing booths, custom press on nails, candles, a mini bookstore outside, and a pet bandana shop outside as well. For coffee, I ordered The Eddie (sea salt caramel macchiato) and my husband ordered The Milk & Homey (cinnamon + honey). The Eddie was definitely sweeter than The Milk & Honey, but both were very tasty! They had a super cute "whimsy bar" set up at the pickup side of the counter to bedazzle your coffee. This was my first time there, so I'm not sure if this was just for the event or not. We also each ordered a turkey caprese sandwich with a side of kettle chips, but they were a little disappointing. They were supposed to be on sourdough, but came out on white bread instead that kept sticking to our teeth and made the sandwich mush together when biting into it. Would love to come back and try a different sandwich or maybe a baked good next time instead.
