This place is so terrible its hard to know where to start. It is at the entrance to our neighborhood (Joyland) and I have lived her for over 10 years so I know how bad it is.
Just to give you an idea of how filthy it is, yesterday (July 21 2014) I noticed a hypodermic needle lying in the parking lot very close to the front entrance.
There is garbage and litter on their property, and they dont care. Go look for yourself at how dirty it is.
The "pay at the pump" credit card swipe thing has not worked properly for over a year. If you swipe your card and select Debit, it says "See Cashier." Yesterday when I tried to use it, a voice came over the intercom saying that "the debit card doesnt work TODAY." These people have total contempt for their customers.
They know all about this computer problem but are apparently unable to fix it, apparently it is such a terible problem that all of the compuetr wizards of Marathon Oil Company cant fix it. I asked the manager to put a little sign on the pump saying that the Debit cards wont work, and he said "They (corporate management) won't let us."
The location, with many exits onto Paris Pike is a severe traffic hazard that endangers motorists. They need to close the exit onto Paris Pike closest to Parkside.
This place is full of crappy & horrendously overpriced junk food, it is an insult to the good people of this neighborhood.
They advertise beer and cigarettes with large outdoor placards, despite the fact that there is an elementary school (Mary Todd) located less than 1/2 mile away.
One thing that this place could do to improve is to go out of business so that a locally-owned company could come in and sell quality products at reasonable prices.
I am asking everyone to stop patronizing this business until corporate management meets with residents of the Joyland Neighborhood and hear our grievances. Stay tuned Speedway corporate management!! read more
